I see so many praising the 787B but what is it that makes it so good. In what way is it better than the 908 HDI or the C9, or the Minolta for that matter?

I don't know if by stats it is any better but when you drive it, its so smooth and is such a great car to drive. The C9 is IMO a better car though and I am yet to try minolta

You should try the Toyota SUPRA 3.0GT Turbo A '88 with the Avid Racing Factory Tune. Gave it a go with these settings and no turbo and got within 1 sec of my best lap in a Lexus ISF Racing Concept on Top Gear Test Track. Definitely impressive :)

Lexus IS F RM <---- Tune it right, and it'll stick to the Nordschleife like schnitzel to a weiner. 👍

The BMW M5 is a very nice looking car. Sounds great, accelerates like a beast and corners pretty well for a car weighing just under 2 tonnes.

Cars worth having in garage= cars that you haven't seen in the UCD. I have yet to see the Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex (S. Shigeno Ver.) '00, the Golf IV R32, the Mazdaspeed Atenza.... these are also all very worthy cars on the road as well

I may be the lone person who thinks this but the Lamborghini LP640 bone stock is a joy to drive, mainly because of the challenge. Just trying to keep that beast under control around the Ring provides hours of entertainment for me! Plus the model detail is great

i don't know... i think the 458 Italia would woop it up

I recently bought one and tried it out, but I really wasn't feeling it. But after all the recommendations in this thread as well as others for the 458, I may have to take a harder look at it. Any recommendations on upgrades or does it drive better as is?

Got say I agree with you there.... Though only recently have my driving skills improved that I have managed to tame the raging bull.....

Also the Maserati Gran Turismo is one of my favourites.... Looks good, Sounds amazing and just enough oversteer to keep you between the ditches....

1992 AMG-Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II

On a course like Cape Ring or THE 'ring its just awesome fun... handles well and rewards commitment

I have the standard 190E and it's really fun to drive. I remember finding the Touring Car being difficult to use on GT4, so I'm interested to see what it's like on GT5 when it eventually turns up in the UCD.

No garage is complete without the AEM S2000; it is one grippy bostard, and it drives and handles superbly. Plus, it's a prize car so it costs nothing!

The merc is a blast to drive from what I remember when I tried it out....I had an outburst of collecting every S2000 I could get my hands on (not sure why). I have so many racing versions I need to sit down and try out some time.

surprisingly, my favorite car (at this point in my career, at level 25) is a modded VW GTi. it just surfs the nurburgring like nothing else. it's such a nice car to drive and handles like a dream on the ring. but i also realize this is related to my limited driving skill. it's the best car i can drive correctly on the ring. i have faster and more planted cars, but the GTi is just right for me at this point. i love that thing. and i drive a VW R32 in life, so it's also familiar.

This 👍 Awesome car. Does under steer a tad though.
No way man! I've actually managed to use the volatile down shifts to my advantage. I can get the car to kick into the corners with almost 0 risk in spinning out.

If you use it for American Champioships it doesn't take the corners on indy at full speed so i think the ford gt lm spec II is faster and better for grinding

That's a set-up issue and I don't see why It wouldn't. I can take the high speed ring corner at full speed and that would be faster I reckon.

Well i tuned it exactly how the one you recommended said too and I still doesnt take those corners at full speed (360-370 kph)

I meant you probably need an indy specific tune. I've read on other posts that it's great for grinding indy and it takes the corners like a dream? :scared:

The must have car is most definitely the NSX. Watch as your NA powered machine of awesome outrun 600+hp cars with turbos. Stay away from drag racing though, unless you are going up against a Samba Bus.

Do u know of any Indy specific tunes then?

Just follow Lion's Den Performance Tune

Good question - as you progress in the game you are forced to drive Le Mans type racing cars at 200mph+ and it's much less fun. Out and out speed isn't everything. The cars I really enjoyed the most are:

- Alfa Romeo TZ2 - a classic, not fast but you can get the tail out at low speeds and control it so it's a joy to drive; if you hook up a good lap you'll feel the difference
- Ferrari 458 Italia - beautiful and handles really nicely with a controllable dab of throttle to help turn-in when you need it (many people prefer the 430 Scuderia but the 458 feels better to me)
- Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo - a fast car that is really easy to drive, almost impossible to spin
- Ferrari 330 P4 - mainly for the history and beauty of the thing, a priceless collectors piece to look at in the garage and an occasional treat to take it on the track

Yes agree. It's not very far into the game this happens, either, IMO. The F1 cars are just headache inducing. Maybe I'm just getting old :-)

My faves are...

Murcielago 670 - Even without most of the aids, can still drive quickly and smoothly, well balanced, fully tuned. And the sound just gives me shivers.

Ferrari 430 Scudera - Just such a beauty and slippery to drive (in a good way)

Cerbera Speed 12 - Such a fun beast to tame. But still good out of the box.

Alfa Romeo 8C competizone - Beautiful and fun too. Needs a few parts and tune to really fly.
