take back what I said before, I just found a car that drives really well and sounds EPIC when driving, far better then anything else I have driven. and it only cost like 50k in the ucd
2001 C-West Razo Silvia racecar. it made my day.

Lol if you're just starting out with drifting get an Efini RX-7

this car is honestly a terrible drift car compared to the others floating around.. Hell, a bone stock SLS AMG with comfort hard tires drifts 1000 times better.

If you want a decent "already set up" drifter, look for the HKS Hyper Silva in the UCD.. that's a must have drifter.

'69 Camaro Z/28 RM(This car just turns me on. But I wish I could throw a 6 speed in it, it's got a short power band)
'07 Lexus IS-F RM(This thing is smooth, and I love the 8 speed tranny!)
'10 Camaro SS RM(Just barely discovered this car, but by far my favorite in the game. I recommend it to everyone)

If you have 4mil laying around, then it is this one for me.

For me, I would have the SLS in my garage so that I can hear it start up when I switch to it. Do any mod to it but not the customizable gear box. That thing makes a brilliant noise.

Other than that there are a lot of cars that are a joy to drive. Just play through the game and you will be pleasantly surprised.

I have tried a few of them but most i have not...what makes you suggest these?

alright, since you asked, I'll try to add a little color.

- RE Amemiya FD3S RX-7: I find this a very special tuner car that handles great, even on sport tires, and can compete against much more powerful cars. I may be biased being a wankel owner though.
- Nissan R390 GT1 road car: who doesn't love a le mans special for the street? sounds great.
- CALSONIC skyline GT-R race car '93: a good alternative to more modern jgtc/super gt equipment. handles awesome and very driveable.
- RUF BTR '86: the power slides are phenomenal.
- Spoon Integra Type-R: front wheel drives can be great, this is proof.
- Lancia Stratos '73: a gorgeous italian classic. makes you work for good laptimes. and a rally version for when you're feeling dirty!
- Toyota 2000GT '67: a gorgeous japanese classic that may have set the bar for things to come from the country. Exhaust note alone is worth owning.
- Tommy Kaira ZZII: a favorite from past GT games, this car is a performance bargain and amazing to look at. I'm finding it a bit tricky to tune in GT5 though.
- Buick GNX '87: I like this car for the turbo. It is a very different take on an american performance car, too bad it didn't catch on.
- Subaru Impreza 22B: the ultimate subaru, from when rallying mattered to them. a serious performance car you can use anywhere, anytime.

^^^ Thanks for the depth...just picked up Buick and never thought it was anygood...defs want to try the 22b

I think the favorite car in my 160 car garage is my race modded Lotus 111r.

I found a tune for this car surfing these forums and took it out to the nurburgring and was blown away.

After my first lap with it I was hooked, it handles like its on rails and can take many of the rings turns without any braking. I love full throttling / coasting around a track with rarely having a need to brake.

After a few hours messing around online i was able to get myself a 6:40ish lap in the monster. 315 angry angry horsepower :O

Do you think you can post your tune or a link possibly 👍 :)

I like the muscle cars myself. I wish there were more premium ones.

My favorite is the 1970 Chevelle SS, but the 1969 Camaro Z/28 RM is a blast to drive.
Muscle cars are terrible imo. They weigh 6 tonnes and handle like 🤬. The only fun in driving them is trying to compensate for the terrible slow speed understeer and on the throttle oversteer

I think I agree with you there but they do sound good

I 100% agree with you except R390 GT1 RC. That is the ugliest worst, le mans car in the entire game!

Bah. Lies... muscle cars are a treat to drive. You have to take the time to appreciate them. I'll take a fully modded 69 Camaro z/28 over a Bugatti Veyron anyday. Look up some vids on youtube of 69 camaros, you'll be surpised. Especially when you find some vids of people who are getting 1000+ HP outta those monsters. Fully upgraded of course.

But game wise, if you get a chance, upgrade a 69 Camaro all the way, and take it for a spin on a track or two. You might have to adjust some tuning settings though, specifically the transmission, and suspension. Once you find the right settings, you might find they are a pleasant and refreshing surprise... I sure do...

I recommend everyone try the SLR mclaren '03 I think it is...it's a blast to drive stock and handles the burg no trouble at all
