mustang cobra

Huh?! I dont considering the Mustang to have "good handling" and its definitely not "very good handling" and its especially not "very very good handling"!

I consider an F1 to have very very good handling.

The Mustang doesnt really know what to do with itself at full tune.

BTW its max hp is 702hp.

the cobra r is underpriced by mistake. it makes a good second car. after that, everyone should be able to afford it anyways, so price is irrelevent.

without mods, i think it felt quite heavy. i had no idea it weighed as much as it does. i thought as a purpose built track car, they couldve made it lighter.

viper_concept, please try this link before you post any other "how much horsepower" questions. Also please see the Look here before you ask thread that is always at the top of the GT3 board.

Thanks.

Either way, the SVT Cobra R was never wat it was all hyped up to be in real life.

Ford was really trying to prove what SVT was capable of and to tell the truth. They kind of made a flop-on-your-face attempt. The Cobra R was slated to be some track tuned american super-car. But the Mustang chassis, which has not been redesigned since 1979 will never be able to become a total track machine, its just too poorly designed.

Any C5 Vette and especially a Z06 can put an SVT Cobra R in its place. Ford was giving people the impression that it was going to be a Viper killer and be on par with European supercars i.e. 911 Turbo and 360 Modena in performance.

The SVT Mustang Cobra R has no radio, air conditioning, sound deadening or anything that doesnt help you go faster. But the Mustang chassis was too lacking to support this. With a base weight of 3,550lbs and the hinderance of a 22 year old chassis, its no surprise that most people found it hard to get a 0-60 any faster than 4.9 seconds. And its handling apperently leaves much to be desired, and thats also true in the game.

The MSRP of the Cobra R was around $35,000 USD, but since they only made 500 in an attempt to gain exclusivity points, the Ford dealers ended up selling them for well over $50,000 USD.

great post.

i think its crazy that they weigh so much. and its rather funny that they used the same weight saving path that cars like the f40 went, but the car is still a cow.

i didnt know the MSRP was so low. but i remember dealers selling them for much more.

Ya its not nearly as well put together in terms of handling as the vette, but its a fun car to drive and for an alternative to a vette, or other cars in that price range, its pretty decent. Weight is always going to be an issue with it and so braking and accel are always slower than they could be. Good car to beat up on begginer league with.

The mustang doesn't handle great compared to cars with around the same max hp. Such cars as the rx-7, maxing out at +700hp, handles much better.

thats if u like to max cars out. I for one dont. besides the stag looks pretty sweet, and thats all that matters to me :D

I'll be the forst to admit that it looks very sweet. One of my favourite body designs, I almost like it more than the Z06 for looks.

For someone reason the regular Mustang looks pretty greasy to me in real life though!?

yeah, against cars with the same power, the Mustang isn't all that great. for the cash (in the game), it's absolutely phenomenal.
