The GNX is the last I can think of.

The Roadmaster is sad that you forgot it...
The GNX is the last I can think of.
OH! Flaw to your measurements. 100KM=62 Miles. 4L=3.6Gal. That's 17.2 mpg
Fastest piece of rust ever made.
Have you thought of one of the last RWD GM Intermediates? They came in a few flavors... (Monte Carlo, Grand Prix, Regal, Cutlass) Or are they too old? (Last ones in '87)
Well, yeah, but its is way back on the list of awesome cars made in the 1980s (top position that is not a Testarossa? Starion). But, you know you'd love to have one.![]()
Say what you will, but I've never been able to stand the normal Monte. I have always liked the Caprice front end more.80's Monte Carlo FTW!
I have tables in front of me that tell me mpg=282.48 / Litres/100km
Alternatively, 10L=2.2gallons. 100km=62miles as you said.
So that means that my getting 10L/100km does indeed mean 28.2mpg. I get good fuel economy, and my brother's car has the same engine, enough power and torque to beat Holden 5.0Ls and he gets around 35mpg. He simply has a better tune and parts than I do at the moment. Plus I'm just a little heavy footed. I don't know where you got the 4L part from but my figure was correct, I get 28.2mpg out of a Buick V6 making 135kw and around 300Nm torque. So that Roadmaster...........![]()
For another $1000, you can buy another merc for parts.Cons:
When stuff breaks, its Germanness makes parts expensive
See above.
See point #1
Not the best in snow
For another $1000, you can buy another merc for parts.
problem solved.
Do Americans do anything right??
*points lovingly to his Camaro*
YES THEY CAN!
Mercedes? They don't seem to..first car friendly. It'll be a while before I can test out a VTEC Lude or maybe even an RX-7, so I still hold little hope for japan.
Why can't the Solstice/Skye be in my range!!???
Guys, are Miata's any good?
miatas are good, but older mercedes are a great first car if you want to learn since they are relatively easy and even fairly cheap to work on. Plus the reliability factor means you shouldn't have to spend too much as long as you get one thats properly sorted in the first place.
I think that not having a Japanese car is a perfect criterion, it'd be one of mine too. For one they are torquless gutless things, two, half of them are so cheap they fall apart too easily.
Three, what's wrong with a little patriotic pride?
If you're willing to buy rubbish because it has your flag on it, don't be surprised if everything with your flag on it turns out to be rubbish.
I love american cars/trucks. They are not rubbish.
But I'm not a fanboy and I can accept that some cars are better than american cars. But, lets see a foreign company make a pickup to even compete well with the Silverado and F150.
Nobody said they were.
Toyota Tacoma. Nissan Navara. Job jobbed.
Navara? Never heard of it.
Tacoma? Competes with the Ford Ranger and the Chevy Colorado.
Tundras don't sell near enough to touch the F150.
Not to interrupt, but the Tundra didn't really compete with any of the big name American trucks that year, simply because the way the Motor Trend otY awards are designed.I believe you said "compete well with". Taking awards from seems to fit that bill.
Huge thing. Open back.
The Tundra is, I believe, MotorTrend's current Truck of the Year...
I believe you said "compete well with". Taking awards from seems to fit that bill.
Not wholly sure why we're talking about pick-up trucks right now though.
