For what it is worth (and I hope PD is reading this...for my sake), please continue with this style of seasonals. Hands down these are the best races in the game. I love learning just how hard you can (and have to) push a car. It is difficult to set up a scenario like this in A spec, but the regulations for these are spot on. Personally, I could care less about the prizes and money (although they are great), my joy comes from the great racing experience. Thanks PD.

I agree, beating these races lead to wooooop yelling etc lol.

Love these types of events. Hopefully PD will continue with these.

Seems all the all sesonal events apart from the 1st lot were for the gt5 noobs..

Agree with OP. Love these kind of seasonals.

Personally, I could care less about the prizes and money....

Couldn't care less....

Rewards are the one thing I'd change. It doesn't matter whether people do or should do them for the sake of doing them. There should still be a reward anyway. As I recall, we don't get any reward for redoing them. Other races in the game pay you every single time you do them, and that's how the rewards should be for the Seasonals.

Otherwise, I like the current batch.

Hair pulling and verbal tantrums not withstanding, I like the new seasonals. Hadn't done a lot of drifting up until now, so they were especially entertaining and I didn't mind re-running those.

Couldn't agree more - even the drifting has pulled me in, even though I've had to go back to 6axis, and it was only the money. This weekend has been all about buying all the cars and upgrades possible as well as spending 6 hours trying to coax that troublesome Elise into first place. The Subaru challenge is currently leaving me speechless (mostly self censorship). The upside of 1.10 has been so, well, up that I can't even be bothered to go into a long rant about the ridiculous new 'collectible' suits & lids.

i dont think we get this seasons too much...

most of people are crying about "that event is to hard" (sry... but i hate that sort of people)

so pd will lower the restrictions so please people DONT cry about this new seasonals... just ignore them if you cant win but flame this events down so we all will be dissapointed if the take this great seasons out again

These type of Expert Races is something that GT needs in amy way imaginable.

I agree completely. The seasonals at their best should be all about learning about cars and tracks, and improving driving skills.

I agree, PD is going the right direction on this seasonal.

Its all about the challenge.

However, I don't agree this would have been that difficult to employ in the A-spec part of the game.

The original game should have had lots of these races.

Well said OP 👍
I too was cheering and shouting when I won, all 3 were the perfect challenge! Keep it up PD!

I've beaten the last one (STi) yesterday and I have to say you are left with a sense of experience. You think: "Hey, now I know how to push really hard on that track!".
This is the way to go Kaz.

Exactly! I feel I know these 3 tracks like the back of my hand now!
and as much as the STi is a pile of trash, I can't help but feel a sense of love towards her now... was tempted to even 'favourite' her :dopey:

I had great fun trying to gold these - even the frustration was fun! ;). I found it tough, but got there in the end. Felt a great sense of satisfaction.

My approach to the Laguna Seca race, after I had finished second about 3 seconds behind, was to practice and tune until I could run a 1:34. From here I knew I had the ability to win it so just plugged away until I got it.

I think with these events I have finally figured GT5 out. These challenges are not about racing other cars. It is about running a 5 lap stint within a certain time. The other cars are just marker bouys, so you can recognise if you are on track for a gold. Its very like the AMG challenges, which again were very satisfying. It rewards consistency, and breeds knowledge about car control. I feel like a better sim racer as a result of these.

Bring it on PD! Looking forward to what you test us with next!

I think there needs to be balance with the updates. Treat the Expert Challenges like the Drift and Time Trial events and include a set alongside the other style of bonus race. I also think they need to drop the set competition PP levels for the bonus race style events and include a difficulty selector that picks cars appropriate to what you throw at it and rewards accordingly

I had not played this game for 2-3 weeks. These new Seasonal events got me back and loving it. This is what all those licensing tests are all about and what they are trying to teach us. MORE PLEASE!

Very challenging & when you GOLD, very rewarding. Please bring it PD.👍👍

Absolutely great seasonals. I just wish we had more of them. Keep it up!

IT looks like the "layout" of the seasonals is almost done, take a look at the titles, you have expert, FR, MR, RR, F1, AWD, etc, now all we need is for PD to update the tracks and restrictions weekly, and we can do them ALL again.

please create more F1 tracks / variety, and perhaps longer races. I love that Eiffel circuit, learned it in about 5 - 10 laps, to win it at default F1 settings, no AIDS, except ABS1. Although, I feel the current F1 car tune is an AID in itself. Time to increase lap time leads!

I'm with you, a love the new ones, but we must remember the game is for all 7+ Million that have bought it. The Seasonals need to appeal to all.

Thererfore mixing both Expert and older style (easy but repeatable) is needed to make sure the game can be enjoyed by all.

I also agree with the OP. I love the challenge of these new Seasonals.

I got Gold in the Fiat one, but have only manged Bronze in both the Lotus and STI ones. I only have a DS3, but I see that others have beaten these with a DS3, so there is hope for me yet. I just need to keep practicing and tweaking my tunes. :)

I had the opportunity to run the original Expert type Seasonals and did manage to beat the RX-7 challenge after about 3-4 hours of tuning/practicing. It was quite a rewarding experience. 👍

The rewards are well worth the effort and I was also pleased at receiving the cash for doing the new Time Trial. Thanks PD!

I also agree with Yip-man about having a mix of races for everyone's interest and fun.

Also note guys, there are extra prizes that can be won in the drift and time trials as well now, including race suits

(this message may have been brought to you by captain obvious)

If PD made the whole game like these expert seasonal events, well you'd have quite a small gathering of supporters. People that make these sort of comments should think before ranting from their pedestal. With that said, these challenges would probably be a lot easier to do with a wheel. I should really invest in one...

For the same reason people refuse to buy "small" condoms, so they are labeled as "medium"?

I saw a lot of folks claiming they are half decent drivers, yet failing to gold the challenges. Simple conclusion: if you can't gold these challenges, you're nowhere near half-decent.

A bit of patience and practice and the most basic tuning skills and you're set.

Absolutely loved these new (old style) seasonals, probably more so than the original ones. Felt a real sense of acheivment after getting gold even though I'm a DFGT user, considering I've played pretty much nothing but GT5 since the day before release (thank you amazon :) ) I'm on the side of the fence that doesn't really care about the many flaws this incarnation of GT has come with but these events are what this game really needs for those whose interest may be waning a little.

Expert challenges as these are labelled should be just that, acheivable by experts but to avoid alienating the casual gaming majority there should maybe a PP or AI difficulty slider with the rewards being adjusted accordingly.

Thanks PD, more of the same please... Oh and please don't drop the regulations for these ones at a later date to allow every blind man and his guide dog to blitz these for the same rewards the rest of us are currently getting.

I concur. I wouldn't want all the races in the game to be this way, but it's nice to have some that really push you. With A-spec it seems to be either too hard or too easy depending on the car. It's too easy to over upgrade the car (especially after 5 tries at a race). I much prefer when the limits are set by someone else at a level that makes it very hard to achieve, but still doable with skill. I'd like to see them alternate a regular seasonal one week and an expert challenge the next. That way everybody can find something they like. I also like that they changed the name to expert challenge (instead of bonus race). That way it's expected to be very difficult.

+1

I don't mind if they add some other "easier" seasonals, but don't dumb down these ones.
