LOVED these seasonals! For the first time in a long time, racing offline actually was difficult and fun. I'm very grateful for prize cars too, instead of just money.

If you can't beat them, don't fret - just practice! Maybe walk away from the seasonals for a bit and race online and try to learn from the experts.

For the same reason people refuse to buy "small" condoms, so they are labeled as "medium"?

I saw a lot of folks claiming they are half decent drivers, yet failing to gold the challenges. Simple conclusion: if you can't gold these challenges, you're nowhere near half-decent.

A bit of patience and practice and the most basic tuning skills and you're set.

I have golded the vettel challenge and the expert seasonals and I am not even half-decent.You don't need to be a good driver to gold the expert seasonals and I do agree with the others that the game is for everyone and PD needs to consider everyone's needs.

I don't think the suggestions here are that all events be this challenging, as it would of course cause carnage, as we've seen already on this forum. PD could introduce a no restrictions option for the players who want to blitz it, and the expert option where the prizes are better. Or the old favourite - Beginner, Intermediate, Expert could be used.

I got alot out of this challenge, I know those 3 tracks a whole lot better, I learnt a bit about tuning, I learnt a bit more about how I like a car to handle. And honestly, this thread is a breath of fresh air compared to the nonsense complaints you see on here. I was going to put up a thread in the same vein as this but TrackBound7 got there first.

The quick and fast, "I want it finished now" attitude overpowers what this game is, and these challenges give me the kick im looking for. Im not gonna grind for 2 hrs just so I can level up. However, I will spend that time doing these things, even if I don't win a prize.

Thank you oversized elitist:banghead:

Absolutely loved these new (old style) seasonals, probably more so than the original ones. Felt a real sense of acheivment after getting gold even though I'm a DFGT user, considering I've played pretty much nothing but GT5 since the day before release (thank you amazon :) ) I'm on the side of the fence that doesn't really care about the many flaws this incarnation of GT has come with but these events are what this game really needs for those whose interest may be waning a little.

Expert challenges as these are labelled should be just that, acheivable by experts but to avoid alienating the casual gaming majority there should maybe a PP or AI difficulty slider with the rewards being adjusted accordingly.

Thanks PD, more of the same please... Oh and please don't drop the regulations for these ones at a later date to allow every blind man and his guide dog to blitz these for the same rewards the rest of us are currently getting.

👍👍

Thanks PD... more expert challenges please.

Not that I'm asking PD to charge me for this when they gave us this for free, but what would you pay for this three event challenge as a DLC item? $0.99 or $1.99 or more? It would be a way for PD to keep them coming month after month. I'd even pay for a miserable PSN Plus membership if it got me access to a fresh set of these challenges each month.

Thank you oversized elitist:banghead:

Elitism has nothing to do with this matter.

The "expert" challenge is a benchmark, and I'd say it takes about average skill to beat each race in 2 to 4 hours.

I didn't cheat, I did some very basic tuning and used no aids other than ABS and a DS 3 and I would consider myself barely making the cut to "average" at best of times.

What is it with people that they can't stand to "lose" to a game anymore?

This game should be challenging, in the term of opponents with the same car, tuning and tires actually being able to match you. That is the reason you have to try to create your own challenges, because they can't take you on at all. What does a GT500 or DTM event give, if you just totally destroy the CPU with a GT500 or DTM car? That's what should be fixed, but as long as that is not going to happen (which will probably be forever) SOME kind of challenge has to be there and these seasonals were more fun than anything else before in this game, besides online racing.

Yeah it's been really tough getting first with these! It took loads of tries to get the laps quick enough.

The OP has is right...kudos to PDI for the expert seasonals they were fun.

The others were good too, but I really enjoyed the expert series.

Yep, they're great and have put the "racing" back in the game. I've still to get a gold, which makes me less than a half decent driver, according to some, but I'm having a great time, regardless.

I think there's something for everyone now, and is a good step forward for GT5.

The last batch of seasonals made me put gt5 back in the ps3. I still haven't gotten the STI beat but I'm loving the challenge.

Lots of positive responses, I think these races really do improve your racecraft.

I loved the first seasonals which were almost the same as the expert races and was very disappointed when PD changed them, however I'm really having fun with the new expert races and I hope that PD will keep those and update them regu.larily.

well said OP, they are hard, but extremely entertaining and satisfying.

i think i woke the neighbors when i finally finished the STI one. it was 1:00 am and lets just say i may have swore at the TV a few times.

i actually preformed a text book worm in celebration :P

I just hope they don't replace the regular seasonals because once you complete them once it's like they don't exist. Theres no real need to do them again because the earnings are 1 time only and you can only use 1 car. The regular seasonals are a lot more fun because you make your own challenge and use a variety of cars and setups.

PD just need to make the rewards more balanced. Take the K Cup for example. The longest/hardest race pays the least and the shortest/easist pays the most. It really doesn't make any sense.

It really doesn't make any sense.
Perhaps look at it like this: "Sorry we were offline for so damn long. Was out of our hands but here you are, easy money and fast cars."

The 3x rewards are not what I'm referring too. Lightweight K Cup released before the PSN outage.

Well said OP.

I support this kind of events ;)
