New member on the board and a real GT lover, of course a car lover in real life to so i thought i would show you guys my two babys. Not the most sporty cars in the world i know but i like them anyway. :)

First one is a 2006 Ebonyblack Audi A4 1.8T cab and the second is a 2003 Tarantellablack VW Phaeton V6. Enjoy!

Wow, a Phaeton! A V6 one at that!

We loved them so much in America, they pulled 'em out almost immediately. Congrats on the purchases... I still love my VWs very much, but an Audi fan I am not.

Thanks man! Oh yeah, the V6 is not avalible in US market if im not wrong?
I would like the W12 of course but its way too expensive with fuel here in EU.. so what VW do you drive?

He doesn't any more.

He had an older Jetta Wolfsburg, forget the exact year, and before that he had a Fox (The VW, not the Mustang).

The Jetta ate the trans and basically forced him to get rid of it.

What he said...

I had a 1993 VW Fox (was called the Gol elsewhere), as well as a 1996 Jetta Wolfsburg (called Vento elsewhere). The Fox was destroyed in a head-on collision, the aforementioned Jetta died due to a transmission problem. Although, on the six month anniversary of buying my current car, a 1998 Toyota Celica GT Hatch, I saw my old Jetta driving around again. It was perhaps one of the strangest things ever.

I do feel like a traitor for leaving my beloved VWs behind, but alas, I couldn't find any decent ones for sale in my price range.

*sigh*

I had been thinking about replacing the Celica with a Polo next year when they head Stateside, but knowing that we're not getting the genuine model, and the fact that the Fiesta gets here sooner makes me want the Ford instead. Assuming, of course, I have money to do it.

Trust me, if I had cash, I would have dropped it on a Passat W8 in a heartbeat.

Another welcome from another VW owner/fan! I've got one of them new GTIs, pics in the sig. There are a few more of us around here as well. I'm sure they'll show their faces.

I'm definitely a closet lover of those Phaetons, despite them being poorly received here. Maybe it's just because they just didn't sell well here.

Alright now we talking! Nice to meet a couple of VW fans even in here! =)

YSSMAN:

You talking about getting the new fiesta? A friend of mine thinking about getting one so i went with her for a testdrive (already out in EU).
Seems (didnt drive myself) to ride well and have a quiet nice interiour feel. And its a real beauty so dont feel like a traitor man... ;)

Philly:

Cheers! Love that GTI, must be one of the best cars out there right now...Borrowed my friends and lent him my A4...believe me i didnt wanna return it back. Ok the car is fun to drive, thats not that hard to figure out but i was really surprized by the comfort, especially high speed comfort/stability. Feels much better than my Audi.

My plan actually is to trade the A4 for a second hand GTI and the Phaeton for a A5 cab...having trouble finding me one i like doe, a GTI with xenons like yours seems pretty hard to find strangely.

That's probably because all the I believe Americans really care about cars is POWER, size of cylinders and acceleration (no offense...). On the other hand, Europeans care about more which is better, and the V6 is, far and away, not the best model. The lower models are much more comforting, trust me on it.

All the GTIs and GLIs in the States come with them, and all the regular Golfs have regular halogens. I guess it's probably different over there.

The HIDs aren't really a necessity. They work great and look beautiful when new, but I think they're going to become more a headache once they start getting out of alignment and things. Plus, the precision projection of the beam makes them pretty useless when they are broken and they light up everything 15 yards in front of you brighter than day and nothing beyond that.

Yeah basically everything in EU is an optional extra doesent matter what model. At least for MB and Audi. We even have S class mercs driving around with halogen headlamps... hmm

i know they gonna be a headache when they start to go old, expensive to change and also need to change both if one breaks unless you want one shining blue and the other white...but im not planning to have my cars THAT long. hehe...

Hey I like the Phaeton, must be a real smooth car. They both are very sharp,VW man here too Jetta Wolfsburg 1.8T 2001,been the best VW I have owned.

Don't wreck it. Body shops will not be the best guys for aligning the lights, and if one is just slightly low, it becomes a little awkward to drive. It's not unsafe, but it'll bug you that something isn't quite "right," and you'll probably be checking them every time you have a chance to compare the two sides. However, VW should know how to work them so you'll be fine if you have them working on the auto-levelers.
