So I have heard that you can use a PS3 controller and a Wheel at the same time, therefore this got my hopes up because I really didn't want to open up my G27 shifter to wire a handbrake into it. I've already got my old PS3 controller ready to go, just need to wait for my Soldering Iron and Solder to arrive which should be in a week or 2.

I'm also looking into getting an Obutto Cockpit, so I will need to build a small little table for my Ebrake to sit on. I will probably make up some designs on Sketch up of how it will look later on.

I know the pads to solder to on the controller are pretty small to work with so it might suck at first, I just need a steady hand. I'll leave some photos and stuff in here when I get to it and my designs soon.

what kinda special solder iron did u buy that u gotta wait 2 weeks? their cheap and good quality at any local hardware store!

I ordered the Soldering Iron from eBay because it was 3$ with shipping from China from Canada, the Solder was $3 as well xD

A $3 soldering iron from China?! Don't leave it on unattended... it'll burn your house down

If he just keeps 0118 999 881 999 119 7253 on speed dial he will be ok. ;)

Interested in this project as well, I want a handbrake myself, but do not really want to solder anything on permanent.

Do all games support the use of 2 controllers?

I might make a similar design to this, only make it a rally style handbrake. Could also incorporate a button into it like Chilicoke did on his cockpit, using an arcade style button. The button itself could then be wired to the PS button, because the G25 doesn't have a PS button, instead of chilicoke having it wired to the "clutch" button in gt5p.

I bought all the parts for a handbrake mod awhile ago, just never went ahead with it. Bought JST connectors so the handbrake didn't have to be permanent, I could unplug it at anytime, bought a shift boot to go over the handbrakes metal parts to clean up the look a little, and also bought some lever microswitches to replace the rusted switch that came on the handbrake I removed from an old nissan 200sx.

Im not sure if all games support 2 controllers, once I get it soldered in a few weeks I will test it out with all the racing games I have. I want to get my hands on GTR Evolution and Richard Burns Rally to.

At first I didn't want to solder anything especially to my wheel in risk of it screw up so I went to the pawn shop and got a used PS3 controller. Eventually in time I think I will end up soldering it to the wheel, just not now since I got it in November.

The GTR series for PC are really fun, I had a lot of fun with those. Richard Burns rally on the other hand is absolutely amazing, make sure you apply the mods to the game that are available, it improves so much of the game. RBR itself is an amazing simulation, even without the mods and also very hard to get the techniques down path. I have it both for PS2 and PC.
