I know many of you may not be baseball fans but it is a very rare thing to be able to attend a championship event in any sport so maybe you can appreciate the awesomeness it.

Things all started a bit rough when I went to the ticket brokers will call to pick up the tickets. For some reason the tickets were not in the envelope! :scared: They told us to just sit tight and they just had to be brought over from another building. Forty minutes later I was getting a bit warm under the collar :irked:. I saw a steady stream of people come in and out with nice duckets in there hands but where the hell were mine! Finally the MAN walked in the room with OUR tickets and I heard angels singing in the back round (AAAAHHHHH).

It was well worth the wait! When we purchased the tickets we bought the cheapest seats we could find which meant we would be sitting in the nose bleed bleacher seats. $65 dollar face value which we paid $400 for. That price had almost tripled by game time. The tickets that were handed to us were a ton better with them being only ten rows above the bull pens. These tickets had a $100 dollar face value that I would sure guess went for more then a grand per seat. Yay for us on the upgrade for no apparent reason! 👍

Now on with the show!

First up was some BP with Big Poppie, the Youk and assorted Sox

This picture might go down as one of my favorite pictures that I may ever take. This was looking down at the Red Sox pull pen home plate. I get the impression that this set up might be a tradition of the Sox and I feel privileged to have been able to see it.

Nothing will ever top seeing the first pitch of your first World Series game.👍

Another great shot in which you see the ball half way to the plate but the pitcher is looking at the ground.

Win or lose the game has plenty of history to it. My camera has this cool multi-shot function that sadly let me get this series of photos of the last pitch of the game.

After getting stomped in the WS it seemed fitting that the sunrise this morning was very beautiful. Life does go on! We'll get'em next year!

Sorry for your loss. Great pics, though! Even though it was a total rout, I bet you had a great time.

I'm sorry my Red Sox walked all over the Rockies; I did expect them to win at least one game in Denver, but I guess I was wrong. No offense, but I don't think the Broncos stand too good of a chance tonight against Green Bay either (I'm a Lions fan, see you this weekend).

Awesome pictures though! I'm very jealous, as I've always wanted to go to at least one World Series game. It just isn't the same on TV...

Humm...Dre Bly, maybe you've heard of him ;) + Champ Bailey + Brett Favre = something like a bizzlion interceptions.

I hope people get the feeling of how incredible it is to be there rather then watch it on TV with my pictures.

+rep, I wish i could have been there.

It's a great time to be a New England fan. 52-7 Patriots game and the Red Sox winning the world series, today was a great day :D

Oh ya and GO SOX!

I have Moss, Welker and Gostkowski on my GTP FFL team. At least New England is good for something.

Love the eye black  However, and no disrespect meant to the RS faithful here, but I'd burn all the photos immediately after the last strike pic. Actually maybe shred is the better term, well whatever makes them not exist any longer that's what I'd do.

Great seats, great photos and that bullpen thing most definitely has some sort of back story. I'm just as curious as you to know what it is.

When in Rome! :)

I will make it a goal to find out what significance it holds.

Coming from the person whose team didn't win any of the games in the world series :p

No...this is a BIG DUMB STUPIDHEAD.

Exactly! Anyone who would rate his fashion sense above their on field performance does NOT have his head right with ball. And just to clarify what I mean by that well the ONLY reason he was out at home in Game 3 is because the massive helmet that he requires to cover that mound of hair on his big pumpkin head fell off and hit him on the heel just hard enough it break up his stride, thus delaying his arrival at said base. THAT is prioritizing presentation above performance and is inexcusable in a competitive arena.

i hate boston after they won against the indains:grumpy::grumpy:

Why should his fashion sense matter :odd:, all that matters is how well he can hit the ball.

Honestly, I don't think it should be separated into different divisions. Many people will agree that the western division is just a joke. I'm not picking on you guys at all, but 13-1 first game, come on. By the second game i lost interest.

Why are you guys such sore losers

Because Boston is the new Yankees. You went out and bought yourself a few World Series wins. The rest of baseball hates it when he with the most money wins the most games.

This is our second world series in... how do you say.. FOREVER

Don't you dare compare us to those bastards. If it was a case of money, most of the Red Sox would have already left like Dumbass, i mean Damon

That's what I'm saying, it should not matter. And it doesn't matter as long as it does not impact a player's ability to perform on the field. However, like my example points out, Manny just has to have his trendy hairdo, which means his helmet dudn't fit quite right and when he is running the bases he quite often has to knock it off just so he can see where the heck he is going. So from my perspective that means he cares more about his appearance than he does about how it might impact his performance. Simple as that. I guarantee if that same running gaff occurred in game 7 with the Sox down 1 run, the Boston fans would vilify him for it. And rightly so IMHO. So I guess he's lucky the Rox just ain't quite good enough to really compete with the Sox ;)

I know...it hurts doesn't it. Most Yankee fans have gotten used to it. You soon will too...give it some time.

You're not about the curse any more, we don't feel sorry for you!

:( Poor Rockies. They would've atleast had a chance against the Yankees or the Indians.

So if this is the "world series" do any teams from other countries compete in it? From Cuba or Japan (they're probably the only other two countries which are good at baseball right)? Nice pics by the way, looks like you got pretty good seats!

No, lol.

Then why is it called the world series? That would be like having a rugby union tournament here with just Australian teams and calling it the world cup. :indiff:

Because it is. Many sports are like that here in the U.S. Football, for example, has the super bowl, but whoever wins is called world champions.

Remember it is a moniker that originated in the early 1900's. I'd imagine that as young as the sport was the owners were simply trying to come up with a term that they felt would generate the most excitement (helping to fill seats) and would draw attention in the newspapers of the day. So from that marketing standpoint "World Series" probably makes as much sense as anything. Although I completely agree with you that it defies basic logic.

Well, we did start baseball and make it hugely popular, but yes we do have a problem with doing this. We still call our Superbowl Campions "World Champions," but thats also because we're really the only folks to play (American) Football. Although they're discussing holding the Superbowl in London soon-ish, so maybe that makes it more "world" than we thought?

No whole teams from other countries play in the World Series, but a HUGE percentage of players are from countries like Japan and nearly all of the latin American countries. Heck...the Starting pitcher in game one of the WS for the Colorado Rockies is from Canada.

Yes...it truly should be call the WORLD SERIES.

WTF!?! Why? There are NO football fans there. And nobody is about to travel that far to go watch the game. And I'm sure the NFL would rather keep the money in the US and NFL.

Or do you mean London, Ontario?

It was discussed, but they wanted to see how the London game on Sunday went first. As I recall, they sold out of all 90,000 tickets quite quickly in the UK. Although there is a very small following of the NFL there, my guess is that a spectacle like the Super Bowl wouldn't be hard to fill-up... Problem is, they really don't have stadiums like we do to fill-up.

They want to make the NFL international, which isn't a bad idea, the problem is, American football isn't well liked in most places of the world.

One of my dream jobs? Teaching American politics and history in the UK and showing the kids how to play football and baseball... Would be awesome!

This is one thing that I find really lacking in American education. I'm not sure about the rest of the world, but we don't really get to look ver deeply at what goes on outside our country. My high school had a one year class on US history, all 400 years of it. We covered 1000 years of European history in half the time in a different class.

You might want to have a job as a PE teacher. And expect them to get mad when you don't play Rugby instead of football or Cricket instead of Baseball. And watch out for the ones who will want to do nothing but play football(soccer.)

Back to topic.....

Going to either the Superbowl or World Series sounds like an amazing opportunity. I have never been able to go to one of these because they have never come all that close to me. Maybe now that I am closer to more out here in Michigan......
