not done yet, but hopefully by the end of this week ill be all done with paint, floor, carpet, etc..

Not sure I like that middle post... Being a PVC build you could've easily reinforced the steering wheel mount from the sides rather than from the middle. :/

Nice one mov.

Please keep us updated with progress, how it works and how stable everything is. I have thought a few times about a modular set up using PVC tubing.

I currently have to use a very temporary set up (that consists of a coffee table, a Wii balance board and a number of heavy books) so everything is clear and tidy for when the mrs gets up!

A modular PVC tube setup would allow me to make something that comes apart and could be hidden in the under stairs cupboard. :)

Out of curiousity, if I may ask, how much did the whole thing (excluding the seat and wheel) cost, and how much does it weigh? Are you at risk of tipping backwards if you lean back a little too hard? The design is awesome, very compact and it looks rigid, nicely done!

First off thanks for all the reply's!

yeah i thought of that and i've seen some online but it would have been longer and more piping etc..(was my original thought) but its really strong in the middle and not in the way at all, also easier to get in and out of. just throw your leg over the seat and ur in.

The price for the piping and fittings was about 40 dollars.. the first time i went to homedepot was like $37 and then i went back again for a few more so.
The scale says it weighs 15 pounds (feels lighter than that tho)
About it tipping back i leaned forward, back, side to side and it felt fine. but if i'm ever online drag racing and it does lean back on me, ill be sure to put a wheelie bar on it ;)

So it's been some time since I've posted on here, my ps3 broke and been a little busy with this thing called life.. but anyways i just wanted to share my finished product. I've done some test runs and i'm really pleased with the out come. never thought a wheel would be so much fun, I've really been missing out using a regular controller.

I don't like the centerpost like I mentioned, but your choice of paint color + the seat and carpet makes it look very clean. Good job. 👍

I find it completely hilarious that T500RS owners and Clubsport owners look at this and think I could have got that setup, with a low range gaming computer and a three screen setup, for less than I spent on a wheel and pedals

$400 for a budget gaming rig with triple monitor support and 3 screens? From where?

It really turned out nice, I like the sliders on the seat too!
Nice compact design, should not be too hard to move around.
+ the satisfaction of having built it yourself, priceless!!

Well done. 👍 👍

$600 for T500RS + $250 = $850

$100 for DFGT, you can build a gaming pc for $350 or get a PS3 (we'll use PS3 as exampe as that is GT5's platform

$270 for PS3 $20 for GT5 100+270+20=390 +300$ for three screens=$690, build this, put a three monitor holder, and it wont cost over $850, sorry if it sounded like I was trying to be rude, because i'm not, just showing you it is possible :P

you have issues with calcs already as why have triples? if you dont have 3 PS3s & 3 games so whats the point? its gonna cost another $580
