My thoughts about the wipers and flash headlights

I found it so amazing and realistic when I had my first experience on the Nordshleife at night in multiplayer switching between high and low beams and flashing someone that you're coming just looks so awesome like you're actually there, I think it just adds to the overall experience to make it that little bit better so it was great to put in.

I don't like having music while I'm racing but I wouldn't say get rid of it because I don't like it, I know it's good for some and you can switch it off so everyone's happy, the same applies here.
 
This thread's ridiculous. The wipers clearly have an amazing purpose. They entertain me down the straights.
I find it amazing that PD implemented Wipers and Headlights. How realistic this game is make's it fun.
 
Very radical position, i have to say. But i really don't get the point of saying it is useless...

But if have the "wash" button, i don't know, to spray some water at the windshield and then make the whipers work. That would be cool ! Hahahaaha !

And about music, for me it's like in the real world, some times i like to drive listening a loud music and some times i just turn off the music. And i do the same in Gran Turismo. ;]

Explain how this annoys you, when it is you who are pressing the buttons. If it were the emergency brake would you be complaining? Or perhaps if it were the view select, would you have even made this thread? Fact is you are complaining about something that you do not have to use at all while playing the game. Get over yourself, it's not that serious. Do you even know why you are complaining about wiper and headlight button controls?

Explain how it annoys you? Have you rectified the reason for the annoyance? If so why are you still harping about it?

Now I have to say it again, wipers often switched on when I don't intend it to, because of my thumb on the throttle and brake stick. It's very annoying.

You're clearly narrow minded.

Then change the button assignments for the wiper and headlights. It's not difficult. You're whining about something that you have total control over.
 
To think someone is trying to hold up an argument that had nothing behind it/ no material to fight back with to begin with...

Why the hell are you complaining about lights and wipers and insisting they are useless? THEY ARE USEFUL, got that? If you race at night they are very useful (try drive a nascar at night at the nurb and you WILL understand what I mean), the wipers are incredibly useful for any kind of basic driving in the rain. Though they are only useful if you drive in cockpit view which I am sure many of you do.

Now this is where you say, 'oh, why have the ability to toggle them in the day/ when it isn't raining when they aren't needed'. Well, does a real car have a toggle for them when they aren't needed? YES, there is your answer, anything you put up against us is invalid so why continue?

As someone above me has said, if you have troubles with bumping it and somehow having such a little thing annoy you, well change the damn button assignments!

The only narrow minded person here is you, think outside the box instead of inside you own selfish little world. Try listening to other peoples opinions.

He's a GT fan who's p*ssed off about all the moaning over insignificant issues, so decides to have a giggle by coming out with something as ridiculous as 'having lights and wipers is dumb' and then stokes the fire by playing the narrowminded knucklehead.

Re-read the thread with this in mind and tell me I'm wrong.

Too many of the same kind. I don't need 10 different R34's. As long as its the top version of its class, then im happy. R32 GTR is fine, why would we bother with the GT

And here I am a tad bit upset that I can drive a VW Golf MkV GTI, but not a standard VW Golf MkV 2.5 (or Rabbit as the US knew it), which is the car I own in real life. Also a bit upset that I cannot find the Volkswagen brand V Vision alloy wheels.

But there are multiple reasons for having more than just the top of the class version of cars, among them is that people will want specific versions for various reasons, and also the fact that in many cases there are differences in the cars other than looks and names.

So, it exists, but you have the option to make it not a part of your game (far more than most developers give you). Not seeing the problem.

And you think that this could have led to two more premium cars? We have no evidence to say the number of premiums available was purely time constraints on the modelers. For all we know it had to do with lack of access to many cars or a half million other things. This line of reasoning is not far off from the "get rid of stupid cars and give us Porsche" arguments. But this is assuming the guys that model cars are doing the same kind of work as guys that would code for working wipers, headlights, and horns. Which they don't.

And by the way, there are edit and multi-quote select buttons. No reason to double post. And if you read the AUP you would know that is not something you can make go away in the options.




Also, I believe most of this thread would do with a bit of AUP reading regarding personal attacks. Unacceptable.


Of course, if Ya Pops is correct, and the more I think on it the more I am inclined to agree, then successful troll is successful.

What is the point of these features? What's the effect when I flash my headlights? Will it change other AI opponents' behaviour? No, I don't think so.

Turning the headlights on permanently during the day would make far more sense than just flashing the headlights!

Wipers... why? Sometimes I accidently turn the wipers on (by using the throttle and brake) when it's not even raining... I think it's ridiculous.

These useless features made the game feels dodgy to me. It doesn't feel like Gran Turismo standard. Remove them please, PD.
