Just received my x-port today and this is my very first replay - Its an action shot of me zoooooming round a 390 on the outside, which I thought looked quite good !!! Hope it works !!

I actually get this now - The datae from the mem card is uploaded to the pc then posted on GTP, then you have to d/l the data from GTP to the mem card save it then play it on your own ps2 and television. The penny drops !!! So I kind of need to get my PC moved nearer to the TV as its OK to d/l my replys and stuff but it would be a lot better if I had the TV right next to the PC.

If you just got an X-Port, you should download Arwin's replay manager, a nice utility for organizing and renaming your replays.

You can also download MK's program around here somewhere to build hybrids, organize and customize the cars in your garage, add mooney, etc. Just search for it. Bith awesome programs.👍

Did you see my vid though ??? Its about 30/40 seconds in and I go around the 390 like its not there !!

Thanks though for the tips - I'll have a look and see what I think 👍

Was it relatively easy to set up on your Pc? I am thinking about purchasing one.

OK So Ive downloaded the stuff and I now have a file titled "bin" saved onto the desktop - What next ? It loads up and I see all the car pics and the information but what now ????

sorry, missed this post. Yes Iceman it was a simple case of hooking it up via the USB cabe, and installing the disc to the PC then to the PS2. I am crap with PC's and technical stuff like this but it was a doddle even for me !!

Copy that folder somewhere.

Create a shortcut to the RManager.exe file and stick it on yer desktop.

Run it.

File > Open and browse to a folder that contains your .xps files. Select 1 and click on open.

All the info from the .xps files in that folder will be displayed.

To rename your files from the original name right click on it and choose rename auto or manual.

If you want to know the setup or parts a car has, right click on the car name and choose details > car.

Also CFM can't see your replays as he's NTSC and you're on PAL. He can only use NTSC replays and you can only use PAL replays.

Arwin's Replay manager can still get you the settings from an NTSC replay tho', your PS2 just can't play it.

(Sorry for the double post)

EDIT: You can get some PAL Xport replays on my site

http://www.davidanderson.org.uk/files/xport/xport.zip Zip file with a few replays inside

http://www.davidanderson.org.uk/tt.htm TT replays for you to chase

Ive created the shortcut to it but it tells me that it failed to run properly when I try to run it it says

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on ok to terminate the application.

WTF does that mean ???

Do you have the Microsoft .net framework? I think that is needed to use it. It's a free download from Microsoft.

Balls !! I think I d/l that today but cant find where I said to store it !!

If I d/l it correctly wouldnt the GTR program just start and work OK ???

You have to install the .net framework, so you'd have to find where you put it, or get it again.

How do I change the file to WMV from XPS ????
You don't. You can't.

The .xps file is just a series of instructions that GT3 can translate. You have to use a TV capture card (in the PC) and your PS2 to make it a wmv (video) file. The Xport is not required to make videos.

I used the PS/2 Tools to change my File Extentions and names, It's a free download for ya, Here's the PS/2 Tools Link!
But it cannot change an xps to a video. It can only change the region of a save from the US to EU. That will not do anything to replays that will make it playabale if it's a different region.

And Wanna B Redneck. You are a redneck, not a wannabe.

Woo Hoo 24 views for my very first replay on here ! I am honoured !

Redneck - lets play nicely, this is a serious thread and not in the test forum, as its my first replay I wouldnt want this locked like the other one - but it was clearly going to get locked sooner or later !!

So I used the x-port today to load a replay of my quick lap onto racing-line, I like my x-port very much !!!

What did any of you who saw my replay here think ? I went round the 390 like he had the handbrake on !!

You know, i'd watch it. But I just can't be arsed to get the X-Port, plug it in, put my computer shelf back together, put my other computer back together, screw the ps2 network adapter on properly and then set up the X-Port.

I mean, i'll have a look.

Its good but probably not worth all that effort tbh !!

I have the same issues with my PS2 - Its in the living room downstairs and the PC is in second bedroom upstairs but then again Ive only just got my x-port so its like my new toy so Im not bothered at the moment about having to cart the PS2 upstairs !!
