MythBusters

Anyone remember the episode with the frozen bullet? Cool idea, but it's too bad it's impossible to do. :(

But they actually put dry ice to good use! Instead of shattering a ping pong ball, they made a bullet using it! lol 👍

Jamie and Adam aren't gay, you moron. Jamie is married.

 Adam had a date on one episode with a girl, how could he be gay? Adam is too funny to be gay anyways, and jamie just has a crazy facial dew.

On another note, this thread really lit up when guns where mentioned didn't it (and Kari I guess) says a lot about the common interests of the male american huh.?

Kari is one awesome chick. Here's a bit of her background...

- Kari Byron -

More femme power joins the Mythbusters Team! While studying film and sculpture at San Francisco State University, Kari Byron's parents wondered what kind of job she'd actually end up with in the real world. She would be writing, directing and starring in B-level horror films one day; and sculpting intricate model dragons for Dungeons & Dragons fans the next- Making her one awesome chick!

After she graduated, Kari started out as an artist. She worked in sculpture and painting, and held successful exhibitions at some of San Francisco's leading galleries.

Sculpting led to model-making and toy-prototyping, which led her to a job with Jamie at M5 Industries. Enter- Mythbusters! Kari made her debut during the "Vacuum Toilet" episode. Jamie needed a 3-D scan of a person's backside, and Kari happened to be in the right place at the right time!

Aside from being an avid fencer and knife thrower, Kari has been chased by machine-gun-toting Egyptian police for painting a mural in Dahab, has trekked in the Himalayas, and has scuba-dived in most of the world oceans. Can someone say "amazing"?

If they had been gay, (and I genuinely assumed they were, it wasn't accusationary or like it really mattered one way or the other - that was my point), what I said was a decent comment (had my radar been accurate). Now, sure I made a wrong assumption. I was misinformed. But why go calling me a moron? Obviously I didn't know they weren't gay. Mythbusters is still my favorite show regardless of the presenter's sexuality.

Why would you think they're gay, and have such a strong conviction? Relax about the moron thing. I was using it jokingly.

Anyway, if they were gay, then sure, that'd be cool. But, they aren't. So, being presumptuous in that way is kind of rude. If you don't know, ask. It's cool.

You know which other show is great? Good Eats with Alton Brown. The Food Network in general is addicting.
That's an awesome show, too. He tells the science, and therefore, the reason why we have to do certain things to properly cook certain items. I learned how to make my own liquid smoke from this guy.

If only I had pay TV! :P

It's worth it until you get married, then somehow your big screen gets devoted to Lifetime unless Paula Dean or Rachel Ray are on Food Network. :yuck:

Sports don't seem the same on 25 inches when the 45 inch is showing a chick flick.

Back on topic: I love Mythbusters. The cement truck is my favorite episode. My brother and I used to test out everything we heard would blow up. My mom always came home and asked why there were five foot wide burned spots in the yard or why all there was plastic/glass fragments all over the yard.

The cement truck with dynamite episode was my favorite because I always wanted to have the unlimited ability to blow something up just to see what it did. When they shut down the highway for them I knew they were in the same mindset that I was.

I watch the show and see things like Adam getting his eyebrows singed off and wonder how I escaped childhood and adolescence unharmed.

Another favorite episode is the biscuit bazooka. I know that is a future prank in the making. I have seen that done with shaving cream before. Throw a few cans in a hot car and when they explode from the heat all the pressure releases and fills the car with shaving cream. :mischievous:

Yeah, I watch Mythbusters every monday before South Park. Its 100x better than the lame Braniac show.

Did any of you see the one this weekend where they built Buster into a "Shark punching" machine. My girlfriend and I were in tears laughing. Someone else had to see it.
Jamie was laughing so hard you could almost see his teeth thru the mustache.

That's the episope when Kari was walking around in a green bikini at all times. So, no, I don't remember any "shark punching" thing.

Did anybody here see Letterman a few nights ago when Kari was on? She looked and acted completely loaded. She was almost as bad as Tatum O'neil.
Making a fire using ice was by far the "coolest" way to make a fire.
Ya I was pretty impressed...also with the chocolate and pop can was pretty impressive to.

I've watched it , but it isn't my favourite science related program, because some of the tests seem too unprofessional to me, and some "myths" are just too obviously untrue. Quite good for entertainment but imo not appropriate for learning.

I like the episode where they had Buster in a washing machine to see if it would spin him around at high speeds (I know there was more to it, but I haven't seen this episode in a while). But the motor for the washing machine kept cutting out

So they take a more powerful motor, take out the limiter, and fire it up:)

You can probably see how hilarious this was

For me, when I see adam get hurt or do something really stupid, I find it really funny. And I love it when adam is right and jamie is shot down by adam, and then adam starts doing jamie impressions.

I don't seem to find her as hot as other people are making her out to be. :odd:

Anyway, it's a great show for sure! 👍 One of my favs. :)

It's the nerd thing... Kari is the queen bee of the Mythbuster shop. ;)

Anyone know why the new "viral video" episode isn't being shown tonight? There is a rerun of the pirate episode....lame.

Mix up. It happens.

Blazing Saddles was the wrong Blazing Saddles and The Blob was the wrong The Blob.

Here's a sneak peek at the MythBusters "Moon Hoax" episode, airing August 27th on the Discovery Channel.
