Today I has just finished my trials in this circuit with all the possible conditions (rain, night etc.) and with many cars so I could be faster and faster...

I was between Mazda 787b tuned at 930 hp (The best sound engine and one of the fastest cars in GT5), Toyota Minolta 88C-V race car tuned at 1055hp, Bentley Speed 8 and Peugeot 905.Very fast cars for some laps but when the ware of rear tires is appearing, these cars are very hard-to-drive in Ring.I hate Audi's :yuck::) but I have tried them.

In the last DLC I bought the Nissan GTR R35 TC.I LOVED THAT CAR.
About 1200kg and with full tuning becomes about 900hp.Heavy but it is 4WD.
I have tried it for many many laps in this race event and I can say that this is the most amazing car in the game (not only beautiful :p).

It is cornering amazing in wet or dry conditions,it's torque helps it exiting corners and speeding quickly and on brakes it is extreme stable in the circuit.
When the weather is rainy and the road 100% wet, it is "flying" against every LM car.

Good lights for night, helps you drive comfortable for so many hours in the dark.My strategy is pit-stop at every 3 laps, about 55-60lt of fuel,ONLY soft racing tires (both wet and dry road).

The set-up of the car isn't completely finished and I will post it the next days.Only ABS at 1 and nothing else. I will play with a Logitech G25 wheel.

My best lap up today in exercise mode with new tires and 100% fuel is 7.29.809 day/dry.
    Night/dry about 7.50 in race
    Day/wet 8.30 in race
    Night/wet 8.45 in race
The best laps can be improved.

About 45-55sec gap every lap in front of the fastest cars in the game when I drive concentrated with no mistakes. But I must make about the double pit-stops on dry conditions. In wet conditions more quickly.
My purpose is to finish the race in 3 or 4days maximum.

The race of Le Mans I finished it in 49 Hours in Mazda 787b :idea::idea:

In 3-4 days I will begin the final race and I will post here my new experience.

I have tried it but it is very nervous especially when the ware of the tires is big
    or in wet road.
    The R35 has 355 km/h
908 is more suitable for Le Mans I think.

Tomorrow I will begin the race

Have not raced much online lately since most of my other friends time zone is different to mine, so its hard to race friends.

    no driving ads, ABS 1

    --------------------------------------------------------------

After about 1 hour, leading with 5 minutes ahead and 3 pit stops.
The weather is fine.My personal best lap 7:33.836 with 2/3 of tires and 1/2 fuel.
Pit stop every 3 laps (1st lap out of pits,2nd clear lap,3rd lap in pits)
Fuel about 21 lt per lap so I refuel about 60 lt in every pit stop.

    --------------------------------------------------------------

After about 5 hours (40th lap is starting now) I lead the race with 2 laps and 1:30 minute gap ahead of R10 (2nd), McLaren(3th) and 905(4th).
    Very concentrate and stable driving.
An excellent sunny afternoon and now getting dark.
    The transition was unbelievable,amazing,perfect.
I start the race about the same time with time in Greece and it went successfully.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    8 and 1/2 hours.64 laps.
First save.Completely dark.It started at about 5and 1/2 hour of playing.
    I'm ahead 3 laps and 1 minute.
Some clouds can be seen in the dark.
The circuit is very good and very fast.
My lap-times are slower about 10-15 sec.
    Physics and graphics are awesome.
There are about 6-6,5 hours night driving left.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

11 hours of driving. For these 2 &1/2 hours I was driving very fast and carefully.
I make my personal best in the night 7:38.561 with one big mistake that cost me about 4-5 seconds
which means that the laptime overall is my best although it wasn't in day conditions.
The weather is perfect. I have a gap of 4 laps and 1.30 min ahead of Audi TDI R10 '06.
I don't know how many times I 've overtook the Storm v12...
Now,the sky seems starting το dawn... I believe in 1 hour I will see the sun.
The magic moment of the game. The car is fine.81 laps completed.
I 've seen the MacLaren (3rd) only 3 times ,2 in the circuit and 1 in pit-stops!!!
    I continue with same strategy.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

    14 hours and 15 min
The sun is rising from 13 & 1/2 hours of playing(100th lap). Epic moment.
Still leading 5 laps and 3 min.
    105 laps
    Car is perfect,also weather conditions.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

    16 hours and 20 min
    Fog appeared for 3 laps.
Now there are clouds.Hope it will rain.
    120 laps
    6 laps and 2 &1/2 min ahead
    Car is perfect

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    20 hours ans 10 min
    It's raining from 16 & 1/2 hour.
The R35 is flying on the water with the intermediate rainy tires.
Finally they gave me 25 sec better laptime against soft racing.About 8.25 best rainy lap.
The gap is 9 laps and 2 min but it growing about 1.5-2 min per lap.
    Car is perfect.
Pitstop every 4 laps with full litres.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

    22 hours
The rain stopped and the conditions returned to dry in 40 minutes.
    Racing soft again
    Everything perfect.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

    24 hours
The 174th lap of the race.If I had fuel I would make another one lap.
Final gap from 2nd: 12 laps
The oil indication didn't turn on.
My best lap was 7:33.118, at the 172th lap
I am exhausted but I don't car. 60 real hours

    You are welcome!
Today I want to drive for about 8-9 hours.I will start later about 18.00 so it will be dark outside here (Greece) and in the game also.
It sounds funny but it makes the driving more more realistic.

I think that the morning in Nurburgring will be unbelievable...!!!

The field you got looks pretty good. I'm probably going to go with the 787B for the 24 hours at the 'Ring. I woud go with the 908 but I hate how the high beams light up the track, or don't for that matter. Even at Le Mans which is pretty flat, I could make out the tops of the trees lining Hunaudières but I could barely see the track. :irked:

I hit 12 & 1/2 but the morning hasn't come yet.Maybe this was something like moonlight at 11 hours or due to some clouds that there were at the start of the night.

I think the dark duration is about 9 hours and it is the logical

I won the race.It was perfect, better than Le Mans due to weather
that it has all!!! And the circuit is more interesting and every mistake cost about 5-15 sec, playing with the Logitech G25

I'm currently doing exactly the same as you too but I left everything stock apart from that middle turbo and still on racing hards.

My main competitor (rather annoyingly) is the Audi 01 LMP car which is the fastest one out there and currently I'm one minute ahead after 6 hours and 10 minutes racing but we're both pitting on the lap I suspended and his pitstop will be 30 seconds shorter. :nervous:

Pitting every 3rd lap as well. Certain that if I didn't have the Audi 01, it would be possible to win the race stock considering I've lapped the GT-ONE (4th) already and the BMW V12 car (3rd) should probably be lapped to. May of already lapping him in the pits. Best lap so far is a 7:55 I think.

    Why not racing soft tires?

The night is coming and this car is difficult opponent.
You must drive very concentrated and as fast as in daylight.

    Or pray for rain

Does anyone know the lead AIs pace? A quick math using ENERGIYA's post tells me this:

    1h10 into the race.

    9 laps, pitting every 3.

    Best lap 7:48'607

    4 minute lead over second.

    So ....

    4 minutes = 240 seconds

240 seconds / 9 laps = average gain on AI per lap = 27 seconds

Average (best) AI lap = 8:15'000

    Is that it?

Because I like to be challenged in these long races. :)
Of course when it gets to the final hour I'll whip on the softs, won't dare losing!

    @Hun200kmh

    It depends on:
    - Opponent car
    - Conditions (dry/wet)
    - Laps close to pit-stops (2nd & 3rd lap was its best, the laps before pit stop the worst)
    - Overtaking slower cars
    - Number of pit stops (player in pit every 3 laps-AI in every 5-6 laps)

ENERGIYA is at first laps that there are not many overtakings yet

R10 TDI's AI was between 8.00-8.15 min per lap average in dry conditions.
In wet it was more more slower than me.
I overtake it 2 times at the start/finish line and in the end of the next lap I had 20-30 sec gap although my lap was about 7.40.

The paradox is that at last I had 12 laps gap against R10
    12 x 8.00min = 96 min FOR DRY LAPS
    12 x 10.00 min = 120 min FOR WET LAPS

With my calculations it was 1 lap gap every 2 and 1/2 hours++
but the rain changed them all

Make some trials first before your main race so you know your strategy.I think it goes to pits every 5 or 6 dry laps. But after its 3rd lap,it's loosing time and its best lap was 2nd and 3rd

Sorry for delay in my race report for nurburgring 24HR. Had internet issues.

Anyway i won the event & finished ahead of Audi R10 by 15 laps. I used the Nissan GT-R R35 TC

Fastest lap in day - 7:45:706
Fastest lap in night - 8:10:556
Fastest lap in wet - 8:31:224

    --------------------------------------------

I had another weird glitch happen in the b-spec Le mans 24HR.

The computer controlled Audi R10 finished the 24HR dead last, it did the whole race on 1 set of tyres. On his first pit stop, he did not stop for fuel or tyres. He went throught the pits on every lap for the last 23 hours.
