Did you ask a Bandai representative?

Oh wait, you know someone here who works for Bandai, so you asked here, right?
:dopey:

Yeah I know that was a little mean, but still...

Bandai's done with anime; ceasing production of media due to poor sales.

Bandai's just done in general, so I don't see why Namco will still have their name included.

Nope. I don't know a Bandai rep. But...with them closing a very large part of their company....I don't see that being a good sign for the rest of the company.

So far, it's only Bandai Entertainment that's closing up shop. (Last day of production is February 7th, 2012) But...I have a feeling this is just the first domino.

I was just curious if this is effecting Namco Bandai as a whole of it it's just Bandai Entertainment.

Oh man this means no more Gundam vs Gundam games ='(

Also will have to agree with your opinion, that if it will effect not just Namco Bandai themselves but Bandai entertainment as well...

Bandai Entertainment is what's shutting down. Bandai will lose all their anime rights. That would mean that, yes, no more anime-based games from Namco Bandai are over. That includes the Narrato and DBZ games, as well as the Gundum series. And if you look at the Namco Bandai sight, there aren't many anime-based games coming out and I assume the last one will arrive before the end of January.

So, it does effect Namco in a pretty big way.

This is really bad :indiff:

There were shows that I were expecting them to release. Mainly for their Gundam releases such as Turn A Gundam and Gundam Unicorn (Crap now I have to import Episode 5 and 6 ) due to them being releasing this year but now only in Japan. :indiff:

But my main point is that Bandai definitely played a huge role in my childhood.
Sucks to see them go.

Here are some more information on this.

With Bandai now defunct, does this mean Namco Bandai will return to being just Namco again?

Don't think there would be a change of name. My understanding is that Bandai Entertainment has been closed. This is only a North American distributor and a subsidiary to Bandai Visual which is also in turn a subsidiary of Namco-Bandai. Bandai Entertainment holds licenses to a few franchises such as Gundam so these will probably now go to the highest bidder.
