Who needs a xbox? I gotta PS3!
The NASCAR 08 demo is available for downloading on the Playstation store.
It's not something I'm planning on buying but I'm going to D/L the demo any way.
But of course I said that about Motorstorm too!

That's whats so great about the Playstation store, I've played demos on games I had no intention of getting & liked them but it can also save me money by weeding out the crap & since it's an EA game I kinda figured it would be crap!

I played it for the hell of it. It honestly nearly looked like a PS2 game, and it played horribly... I gave up after 5 minutes.

i knew this demo was going to suck when i started downloading it but when i actually played it.... i was appalled... it seriously looks like a shiny ps2 game... nothing more... the sound and controls just sucked and i still can't believe that people let EA get away with this type of theft... i mean, if I were to spend 60 bucks on this game, i would seriously feel robbed... Paying that much for a game thats worth 20.... EA sucks

That was possibly the biggest piece of ass I have ever seen! It seriously did look like a PS2 game made in 1999 by a shoddy developer. I cannot believe that they can pass this off as next gen! As for Tiger Woods it was full of self advertising and also looked like a PS2 game.

Well EA has confirmed once again that exclusive licenses lead to crap games!
Some people buy NASCAR & Madden every year even though all they get is a roster update & EA gets bags full of money! :grumpy::mad:

Lets all hope EA doesn't get the F1 license!

Wow...just wow...

Shocking. I don't know where to begin.

They should recall this game.

Right now, just recall it.

Have the customers send it back in and give them a refund.

No way this lame excuse of a game should be sold, for ANY amount of money. You couldn't give this away to me for FREE. I wouldn't even take it to sell it because my conscience would bother me...selling such a craptacular game to an unsuspecting individual...

Where do you begin?!?!?

  • The game chugs along at what feels like an inconsistant 20-25fps in what seems like 480i, even with just 11 cars on screen. God help us all when there is 43 on screen

  • There is no anti aliasing whatsoever...OMG it is so pathetic...simple outlines of the cars are so jagged it looks like somebody drew up the outlines of the car in Microsoft paint.

  • For some strange reason when your car is pointed the wrong way the steering becomes difficult??

  • Gran Turismo 4 car models look considerably better

  • Slight contact with another car's bumper and you've nearly ripped it off...

  • The handling of the cars felt sluggish and awkward

In the end, even though I just played the demo, this is the worst excuse for video game entertainment I've seen since NFL Gameday 2001

It's not as bad as NFL Gameday 2001 but it's close

lol at EA, if they keep this up they will go under

I don't care how many exclusive licenses they have or how many zombie fans they have or whatever, if you consistantly release steaming piles of garbage as excuses for games you will lose business...

somebody please revoke EA's license to make games....

:lol: EA loves using the latest dev tools on the market like MS Paint..

Gran Turismo 4 car models look considerably better

Gran Turismo 3 models look considerably better!!, hell even Colin Mcrae Rally 2 looks better! :lol:

Shudders at memories of EA F1-2001 which I stupidly bought...

I actually CANNOT WAIT to see the review for this, im thinking around 2-3 out of 10 or even worse! :lol:

How could anyone sanely part with 40 odd quid for this!

It's averaging 62% at the moment:

Gamespot's summary:

The Good:
* The chase is a nice way of introducing players to the sport
* Plenty of tracks and drivers
* Races are intense.

The Bad:
* No career mode
* Default controls are incredibly finicky
* Driver AI is poor
* Very limited visual customization options for cars
* Online play doesn't seem to work for many.

Well, the online play bit isn't anything new... :P

Yes that maybe so, but have to tried the demo GT? Its appauling!

As for the 62% im am sure that most of it is from people who love Nascar and thats the only game they can play or they love EA, because seriously, they must be BLIND!

Downloaded it, seems I am not the only one that finds it appauling.

Just had a shot of it this morning and by jove it sucks royally... I can honestly say that this is the first demo I've found where the installation was the most interesting bit :ill: It's fundamentally poor, from the hokey music to the terrible gameplay.

On the other hand, I did shoot 4 under par in the Tiger Woods demo, on just my fourth attempt... Birdie 3, Eagle 3 and a Birdie 2... still, it's pretty dull as well, but then again, it's a golf game - what else did you expect?! :sly:

How in the hell do you have a Nascar game without a career? What? You just choose random races?

Kind of.......you go and do license tests first for all the types like Super speedway, Short Track COT and stuff then when you pass those you do like test to get the different cars in which you have to race and every Super speedway if you want that car. Then when you get the cars you can just go pick race to do If you have that car
