I can't stand energy drinks. I get lightheaded when I drink them. On topic- I like that Ford-it looks great (for a Sprint Cup car).
 
The grill bars on the Ford are interesting. But gotta wonder how it will affect accident repair work.

Or even how it'll stand up to the usual beating and banging at short tracks and road courses.

Good point.

I still think the Charger is the best looking.

On top of the fact that supposedly its too dangerous for the engines.
 
Tony Stewart led practice with an average speed of nearly 202 mph. The track record is 194 mph. Not sure what to think about a car this big going that fast on a track that doesn't have 31 degrees of banking to catch it
 
204 MPH, Set by Greg Biffle. Not bad considering its on a track with nowhere near the banking of Daytona or Talladega. Don't think it should be a concern though as clearly, the track has plenty of grip.

Define what was "awesome" about the first gen COT, because I saw nothing about it that deserves that kind of praise and most of the Cup drivers and fans would agree.
 
The COT really got me into NASCAR more, I was 8 at the time I saw a few laps at Martinsville when they were using those cars. Being young I thought the cars looked really cool and fun to watch. So I liked the way they looked but I did not really care about them changing to the older spoilers. Not sure that helped the argument, but I thought id mention that :)

Yes. I've grown to dislike DW more and more. He does have some redeeming qualities about his broadcasts. But in mind, all I hear is "I used to be a famous race car driver, and now I'm trying to do something I have almost no training at, because it involves my sport. And because it's my sport, I can talk about it and treat it like nobody else knows what they're talking about."
 
ESPN has terrible NASCAR coverage... I swear I heard Rusty Wallace say "James Bootcher" in today's Nationwide race.

Fail. ESPN shouldn't get any races broadcasted on their network. Of course, they get all of those races because the company it is owned by, Di$ney, is paying NASCAR tons of cash so they get to hog up both the Nationwide and the last races of the Sprint Cup.

They used to be good, until Bob Jenkins and Benny Parsons (R.I.P) lost their jobs after ESPN quit coverage after the 2000 season. Benny went to NASCAR on NBC and I don't know what happened to Jenkins.

Bob Jenkins works for NBC Sports on Indycar coverage, but he is retiring at the end of the season.

I've not been impressed with ESPN's racing coverage at all. They put ALMS to live online or tape delay on ESPN2 the next day, IndyCar gets pre-empted for Nationwide only after the Detroit race got pre-empted for local news/being on air too long. As for the NASCAR coverage, it's just commercial after commercial and all the action tends to happen in commercial and then you don't get an explanation of what happens until after pit stops are shown and another commercial break occurs. Restarts are missed most of the time.

The only bright side of ESPN's NASCAR coverage is Allen Bestwick.

I think others would mind.... :indiff:

I don't care either way. If the 3 is going to be used by anyone, it will be by Childress's team. They can just as easily change the styling, which they have with the 3 in the Truck and Nationwide series.

I can think of how someone who is new to NASCAR would react.

"There are a lot of Austin Dillon fans here, wearing #3 hats and shirts."

Well atleast they don't play annoying country music before a commercial break like FOX. lol

Well it looks like they've slightly tweaked it for those series. Senior's #3 appears to be more boxyer than Austin's to me. While Austin's #3 is more round.
