You know, even to this day, I still think of Jeff Gordon as a scrappy young gun that can compete and win races. That's what I thought of him back in 1999 when I first started following NASCAR. He's still my favorite racer regardless. I hope he'll get back to vintage Jeff Gordon whereas he can easily win championships. Who knows? Maybe Jeff Gordon could get up to the seven-time Cup champion ranks before he hangs it up and call it a career. Even still, Jeff Gordon is DEFINITELY going to the NASCAR Hall of Fame. I think he's brought too much to NASCAR to not be any real significant figure of the sport.

Torches are passed between 7-Time series Champions. Petty -> Earnhardt -> Gordon-> ???

No way can Jeff Gordon win 3 more championships. However, I understand how he has been struggling so much in recent years. Jeff should be more aggressive on the track, not be, "I'll let you pass. You're welcome! :)". Jeff needs to be more lean and mean, especially against drivers such as Jimmie Johnson, Brad Keselowski, and most of all, Tony Stewart, who never had a single bad year in his entire cup career.

While I see Jeff winning at least one more championship, three more is nonsense. We saw what he was capable of last year, and he can easily pick up a win or two before the chase starts. In fact, I will show his finishes from last year at the next 7 races.

Indy: 2nd.
Pocono: 6th.
Watkins Glen: 13th.
Michigan: 6th.
Bristol: 3rd.
Atlanta: 1st.
Richmond: 3rd.

Jeff has a pretty nice chance of winning at least once in the next 7 races. 4 top 5's, and 6 top 10's. Really impressive. Never count him out until the chase actually starts.

Richmond: 3rd.

And at least three more of those should've been wins.

Indy - Probable best car. Menard won a fuel mileage.
Bristol - Best car. Wacky pit road timing worked to Brad K's advantage.
Richmond - Leading and driving away. Menard intentionally (come on its obvious) spun inside of 20 laps to go.

So he could easily grab a couple wins before the chase. He just needs the luck.

Marty Reid. :grumpy:

Competition caution on lap 15? Because of the Grand-Am race and rain yesterday? Did the cup series not have 2 lengthy practice sessions today and Cup and NNS qualifying?

What is NASCAR thinking?

Kyle Busch gets away with jumping the start. lol

Apparently race start rules are different than restart rules. Not penalizing Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin for that matter when they penalized Carl Edwards back at Richmond is contradictory.

shut up already.

The grand stands are so empty it's depressing.

So its likely a chance that the whole "Super Weekend" Nascar was hoping to cash on is so far, not successful. If it looks like that for Cup, I don't have much hope for NASCAR coming back to Indy in any shape, period.

I can only see the backstretch empty tomorrow.

The empty stands for yesterday was because it was a Friday. There's a reason races are run on weekends in terms of spectator attendance purposes.

And Danicamania will be over today once she is interviewed in the garage area.

Rain doesn't help, either.

Part of me wants to say it was Danica's fault just for pushing him, but I also feel Reed made 2 mistakes in 1 in the way he slowed for the corner alot and made a complete overcorrection.

I wonder if Junior is getting annoyed that Danica is destroying all of his cars.

Wait a minute. Kyle Fowler..wasn't he in that NASCAR iRacing world championship?
