I find it humorous that people knock on others for using assists. Sure, it feels better to win without them, but sometimes they are needed (even in real life *gasp!*). I think what really bothers people is that they have a hard time beating them without assists (which they see as they only "real" way to drive (oh, and I am with you most times on that, so please no flaming)), and start smarting when people are able to accomplish it with what they see as a "crutch."

Look, with a game as wildly popular as the GT series, it is going to bring in a wide array of people all with different backgrounds in racing games and different skill-sets. Just because someone uses an assist doesn't make them bad - that is just how they play. If they do better than you, and you aren't using assists, there is no real reason to hate - they are still doing better than you. :p

RX-7 was no problem for me, but this NASCAR one is pure pain!

I can’t keep the car on the road at the speed required to do better than 6th.
Could I pls get a suspension setup? I’ve been using the -20 / -20 one I saw here somewhere, but its not working for me.

I need something a bit looser I think.

Raise the height. That setup is too short for the 'Ring and you will scrub off tons of speed by rubbing the undercarriage.

Hey, I really didn't see anybody knocking on anyone for using assists. If you were referring to me, I was only knocking the fact that the OP used almost every assist and then starts a thread about how easy it was. That's like me saying how easy it is to complete a marathon but instead of running, I used a bicycle to get through it. That would probably offend the people that actually put in harder work and ran it. I'm not saying don't use assists. I use them sometimes depending on the car. But when I do, I don't go saying how easy it was.

I have attempted this numerous times with just TCS1 and no other assistance. However, i get about 4.5 round at blistering speed and then crash badly. Happens pretty much every time:/ doh!

I have the Joey Lagano Gamestop Toyota and the Denny Hamlin Camry too. Does anyone think its possible to win with either cars? If so what specs should I use (I know how to adjust the transmission for optimal power) But people say to put max downforce. What does that mean??? -20 ride height front and back? I don't know all the technical terms. If anyone had suggestions on how I could beat this one with the cars I have I would love detailed suspension info. Thank you

I don't think there will be signifficant difference between the different Nascars. I picked mine by liveries :)

Check out the helps about the tuning in the game itself to get some basic ideas. Also, there are great tuining guides in the resp. section.
Try my advice on the previous page.

..just beat this one in the fusion.

I just added the chassis stabilizer, cranked the downforce and played with the LSD a bit to make it 30/45/5.

This race is more forgiving than the RX-7 one - mainly because there's so much track.. but if you do happen to spin out, you may as well restart.

If you can make it around the ring comfortably under 6:50 in this car, you'll easily win the race -- so i'd recommend being a bit cautious around the turns rather than driving as hard as you can.

The AI is very cautious - especially in the carousel - so it's a good opportunity to take the lead.

I'm just one big ball of fail at the NASCAR race...might have to try with more assists.

I did it first try, and that was with my wife bothering me. :D Damn hope that doesn't make me a redneck! :D :D

ABS 1, Skid Recovery Force on, everything else off.

tryed all that...cant be done......who ever picked the ring for a nascar race should be fired....and put in jail

this is a total waste of time....
I guess it all depends on the driver I thought it was the easiest of all the seasonal events. I ran it on 2 accounts 1st time I won by 2 seconds 2nd time I won by 19 seconds and I wrecked the car badly once.

BLitz24
Initial Torque 0/30
Acceleration 0/60
Braking 0/5.
Man these LSD settings make a whole lot of difference especially to keep the car controllable under braking with ABS = OFF. Many thanks for this great advice 👍

Only one problem left to be solved...practice, practice, practice. Still a tough cookie to drive 2 reasonably fast laps in succession row without mistakes.

HAHA I think your safe the "ring" has only two banked corners.

Good effort by the way. I may have had a temper tantrum doing this event.

is the easiest challange, i suck and i made it at the first try and win with 14sec advantage on the second (without even tune the car, i won it from jeff gordon school and use it).. while for ex i can't take gold in rx7 or fiat 500 challanges or the amg special event challenge. I'm not a good player at all and i made it, i don't know how people are considering this hard. I was shocked when i won so easily that i thought i was on the wrong event, cause i read the forum before trying and i was prepared to hell..

I struggled with it as the car kept spinning out with red hot tyres on just about every bend. So i maxed out LCD just for fun and whoooa i beat each race easily. No idea what it does but it worked for me.I also had the car set up that someone wrote in a thread on here. I used the car he stated to use with his settings but with LCD maxed out

But it can be done, its easier than B-Specing Historic Racing Cup, easier than the Lotus challenge in Top Gear and alot easier than Mission 34 from GT4.

FALSE! I easily got gold in historic cup on B Spec, just need the right settings and the right strategy, and I just got Bronze on the Lotus Challenge after 3 tries (I think they make it easier since I last tried though). NASCAR at the ring sucks! Tried it 3 times and the best I could get was 11th. I am not an amazing GT driver but am good enough to pass all other events and licenses, how does that translate to 11th place in this one? I am guessing some of these challenges are meant for the top tier of players only, they should somehow classify them as that. Sucks for the casual gamer that would still like the benefit of extra races without them being super difficult, especially considering they are only available for 2 weeks!

It depends on the driver. For me it was much easier than the Historic Race cars in A or B spec. B-Spec on Monaco requires not only a bit of strategy but a bit of luck as well. If the 2J starts up front it is extremely hard to get Bob to 1st place.

On the ring though I threw a best guess tune on the car and did it first thing in the morning with my eyes barely open and won on the first try which is pretty much what I expected as the other cars do not have much downforce and a higher gear.

Now if they had made it one lap it would have been hard and surely would have taken a few tries. :)

yeah I guess I just need to keep trying and adjust my settings, my biggest problem seems to be too low of a ride height and stiff springs, need to change that for this track.

I used default setup on a new Nascar. only things I changed were Downforce to Max and dropped the gear to a top speed of about 230. ABS=1 TCS=5

Run Skid Recovery =ON if you are having a problem without it.

This is all you should need if you know the track. If not then you may want to do the AMG school first and try to get at least silver in every event there.

I think I'm going to punt this one. I think the main key to this one is knowing the track very well, which I don't. I just can't make it around with any speed without going off the track/crashing. I've got all golds on Bonus Race 1, and have golds and silvers so far on the other BR2 challenges, but this would take a massive amount of time for me to learn this track well enough. I don't understand how anyone could say this is the easiest one. That makes no sense.

Remember not to go 100% around the ring or it will kick your arse!

Have you tried the driving line? As long as you brake when it's red you should be fine, except for one LONG corner. And after getting burned in that long corner a few times you'll learn it. :p

Well...you gotta go 75% or your arse won't get there in time!

I did try turning the driving line on the last time I ran it, and I agree with that recommendation when you don't know the track well. It helped, but I still didn't run either lap under 7:00, and still couldn't stay on the track.

Knowing the track is definitely a biggie but don't be to hard on yourself I have 3 friends that struggled with it as well and all 3 of them know the track very very well. Meanwhile my brother managed 3rd on his first try and 1st on the second try and normally when the 5 of us are racing he is in last place on this track.

The biggest difference is he is a good tuner and was careful around the track where the other guys were trying to drive it to fast.

Sometimes slower=fast and faster=slow.

Lol, what you mean

More cautious = faster and 100% effort = slower.

I thought it was easy, but .. it wasn't.
I won because at the final corners, I rammed against the first car, which went out of track (of course!), otherwise I'd have lost.

Yep better to hit that corner at 95mph and make it around it than at 200mph and get buried in the sand or spun out.

Make sure you gain 2 seconds in every sector and you should be fine

...

I saw the guy in 11th place.

Once.
