Does somebody beat the very last Nascar Special Event? the two laps on Daytona, you get bronze for a 6th place, I bearly make a 7th position, I draft them as much as I can but the freaking ASM is on, and ther is no way to turn it off.

Is the a video how to beat that "is making crazy" event?????
 
I got gold on every nascar special event! :dopey:

For the one you are talking about, what I did was:
1. Drive in bumber view
2. Get into the AI's draft as soon as possible
3. Turn as smoothly as possible (you will stay in the draft then and be able to pass the AI)
4.NEVER break

Also, you will pass the Ai in first on the second lap at the end of that last corner, then you have to block everyone so they can't get passed.
 
I drive with a DFGT, I am not a hardcore gamer, but I beleive I am a very good driver, I want to find a video, becuase I do all the things you post, thanks anyway, obviously I don´t do it that good.

As soon as I start I begin tio draft, but they keep going and going. I also try, like IRL, push a car all the time so we can climb positions together,but nothing.

Lap 1 - 6:38 (+14 seconds)
Lap 2 - 6:30 (-25 seconds)
 
I'm glad someone else mentioned this! I've been making serene progress through most of the game so far, and now I'm completely left for dead in this Daytona special event.

Any advice? Looking through this thread, the consensus seems to be to turn the ABS off completely...yeah? I'll try that tomorrow and see whether it works.

It's incredibly frustrating, considering I cruised through the other two tasks!
 
The NASCAR events must be one of the easiest things in the game...because I golded them all, and I'm terrible at everything else.
 
After numerous failed attempts before reading the advice on this brilliant forum, I got gold on the first attempt of all three Expert NASCAR Special events and also the Level 21 NASCAR Daytona race last night.

Just to reiterate this tip, because it is crucial;

Enable the RA settings for your controller (if you don't have a Driving Force GT wheel) I set mine to the d-pad as it works quite well, with the left right for adjustment and up down for selection.

Start the Expert Special Event and bring up the RA menu and set ABS to 0. Despite contrary reports you can't turn ASM off, it is greyed out, this is irrelevant because setting the ABS to 0 will turn ASM off. You don't need ABS even for the Indi track where you do need to brake, just don't brake too hard. Also, don't draft a car into the Indi turns as they brake too hard and you will hit them and be DQ'd. Forget Harry's advice, in this case, rubbing isn't racing.

Now you can carry far more speed through the turns, just draft the cars as much as possible, overtake and turn smoothly through the turns, once you overtake the leader you can normally just stay ahead as you will come out of the Daytona turns at about 205mph, the opposition will drop back and not catch back up, if they do just rear view and block them. I was in first place by the start of the second lap at Indianapolis!

I know this is a relatively old thread, but...
I was / am having the same problem with this challenge, and when I came across this thread, I thought 'of course, turn of the ABS to disable the ASM that is slowing me down so much in the turns'. When I tried it however, the game won't let me - ABS will only go down to '1', using the settings menu before I enter the event, or the RA menu during the event.
I'm wondering if PD changed this during the last update (1.06). Can someone verify that I'm not loosing it, or totally incompetent! Or is there something I'm missing concerning disabling the ABS.

Never mind! I just came across this thread, https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=4882415 that confirms my fears - ABS is limited to a minimum of 1 with the latest update.

Yesch, Since 1.06 it's impossible to turn off the ASM.
 
I had trouble as well but you need to pass on the inside when you reach the pack the first time and as well when you reach the last turn.
 
This seems rigged.. I can pass the red target car, sometimes keep up with the dark coloured car but mostly it and the rest of the pack dissappear away into the long distance which begs the question "why bother?"
 
Hey I just won a bronze on this one and you need to draft the black car in front of you as much as possible. You will be for 1.5sec behind after the first corner and it seems you will never make it, but in the second lap you reach the pack and you will get at least bronze on this one
 
Come on Alex... do you realize that ASM can no longer be turned off ? Or am I missing something here ?
