To each his own Lefty. I guess I'm in that niche, southern drawl and all. I love GT5 and really like NFS. But, NASCAR fans needed a replacement for N09. NTG needs some work, no doubt. But, based on my experiences last night, I think I am enough of a stock car fan to get the goody out of this game.

Someone made a thread on the Eut forums titled, "$60 demo". It wasn't that long ago that many of us here paid decent coin for another demo that lasted almost 3 years. I guess I am defending the developer a bit. But, there is no other NASCAR console offering on the market right now besides this one. So, I'll make the best of it and hope for some patchwork to come.

I think one thing you have to keep in mind is that this is a first year game, I don't think I've ever played a first year sports style game(i.e. a new one every year) that hasn't been very shallow in the first release unless it was a port.

Also, turning the brightness down in the Sounds & Display section in options works wonders.👍

They do need to fix the braking though.

Yah my relatives talk w/ the twang and I just love hearing the voice of a Southen Bell or a Joja Peach it makes me want ta go visit the "good ol boys" down south and sip on a Mint Julep under the shade of a weepin willa tree......lol.

Us circle trackers on the west coast just don't think that it is fair how you all in the south can race 4 nights a week when the season starts up and we have to have something to get the saturation time that you guys can do for real 3-4 times a week. Now there is NASCAR 2011 and it fills in the gap that GT5 left by only having 2 circle tracks. Since I buy games to get access to the tracks this one fills that bill nicely.

I hear that Dave is preparing to address the community about what Eutechnyx is doing to fix some of the issues. I predict a couple of patches (meaningful ones). But, I think the majority of the fixes will not come until the next iteration of the game. Still, it's a decent freshman effort for a group that has only done road racing games in the past.

I think they are dropping hints about future NASCAR changes. For instance, last night my crew chief/spotter kept encouraging me to draft at Martinsville.

👍 Agreed !!! Needs some work, but still a pretty good time behind the wheel... southern draawl and all. :p

Interesting fact bestowed upon us last weekend ironically. Which state does the majority of Sprint Cup drivers come from?

Now, I'm sure some of you will cheat and go to your favorite search engine. It's just more of the stereotypical smear that comes from the anti-NASCAR people.

This is not Ed Martin's first NASCAR ho-down.

No no no!!! They come from Canada eh!

Edit: Actually, I think there are some Canadian drivers who race in the regionals? Someone else might be able to confirm that but I think NASCAR has a mix of drivers from all over the US. They aren't just from the south. And, one of my favorites is from way up north................in Arkansas lol.

I know both Gordon's and Jimmy Johnson are from California, so that's why I said it.

So is Harvick. And I'm sure there are other guys I'm forgetting who are also from California.

If I had to guess, I'd say the most Sprint Cup drivers come from California, followed by North Carolina.

I know we're going abit off topic, but yeah the answer is California. Top of my head...

Jimmie Johnson
Kevin Harvick
Brian Vickers
Paul Menard
AJ Allmendinger
David Gilliand

And no I didn't check the internet before anyone asks.

This game has only been out for 2 days now. Dont expect instant patching but atleast weekly or so like GT5 has been.

R1600Turbo
California?

You sir are 'da WINNING!

Pretty shocking that most of NASCAR's top series drivers come from the left coast! Redneck sport? More like surfers and hippies.

Great job Fuzzy for the list

Brian Vickers is from North Carolina and Paul Menard is a cheese head(aka From Wisconsin). But you can add Jeff Gordon, Robby Gordon and Casey Mears to the Cali list.

Gordon is a California native also isn't he? Speaking of Jeffy, he wrecked me last night at Richmond. Wonder Boy my behind!!

Yeah I just quickly guessed. Good little trivia question that one Dave.

Right, regarding NTG 2011, I cancelled my order then was kind of stewing on my decision. Turns out that I might be forced to get it, the place where I ordered it from doesn't look like they want to give refund. And they did send me a email saying that I could.

Raced Bristol last night.... Holy Wheel Grip Batman. I think I can still see my finger marks in the steering wheel. That track was insane. So frustrating yet surprisingly fun. I was having to watch my verbal frustrations 🤬 since my three year old was in the other room.

I was at Bristol last night as well in a single player race. I gave up in frustration though. I keep overdriving the turn entry and when I get out wide I am cutting off the car to my right. What happens next is he clips my right rear making my car nose into the outside wall. It was rinse and repeat every time I restarted or rewound the action to try again.

I was very tired though. I should've known better than to try when that tired. Racing requires a lot of focus in order for it to be really enjoyable.

Yea i had my fun with Bristol as well. I would always go wide coming out of turn 4 and the wall would always get me. Then if i was passing I couldn't take the turn tight enough and i would be in the wall. After wanting to get it over with i sucked it up and did the 100 laps and now on to Martinsville.

So, should I buy the game

To each their own. So far, I have enjoyed the game. Of course, graphics are not not on par with GT5, but I have found it quite the challenge. Being a fan of Nascar, or any racing for that matter, it gives me a different experience than racing sports cars on road courses.

I'm really enjoying the game. I'm not a *fan* of NASCAR, have never watched a whole race, but if you are even remotely interested in the sport I think you'll like it. I've been surfing on the NTG11 forums and people seem to despise the game (much like F1 2010, GT5 and every other racing game that comes out, it seems) but from someone who doesn't know a lot about the sport it comes across as very fun.

Although there are definately issues in the game that the developer needs to fix (they seem to be working toward some patching), the game can be great fun. Take this with a grain of salt as I've spent less than 2 hours playing the game (according to my driver stats). I've spent much more time in the game going through menus and restarting races. But, that's what the stats have recorded.

My best experience was racing at Martinsville and trying to get around the AI cars. They raced me really hard and really close but also very clean.

Got some more pics.

But first, here is a list of things they are working on fixing, unfortunately no mention of fixing the leaderboards.:irked:

They also need to fix black flags, I was racing someone at Martinsville, I was passing someone, got into him a tad to much and spun over the pit exit line. All of a sudden a black flag popped up saying it was for an illegal pit entrance.

Does Jeff Gordon look... normal? Or is he a zombie like in GT5?
