Well according to that video the replays are lifeless and boring. :p

But the racing looks like fun, minus all the drafting stuff that hopefully you can turn off.

Definitely a rental for me.

Yeah hanging out in the back of a field if 43 cars for 500 miles sounds like loads of fun. You seem to forget NASCAR is doing everything they can to gravitate toward "spec" racing. And crushing the spirit of competition in the process. Drafting is a part of the real world that cannot be denied.

I think he's talking about the lines that appear when drafting, not drafting itself.

I hope that's the case. At least it's not as flamboyant as EA's draft tunnel!

👍

At least someone got it without jumping down my throat. Sheesh. :dopey:

One or 2 more words would have avoided the whole thing. After all, you do know how edgy people are when it comes to criticizing one's discipline. Sorry for jumping down your throat.

I don't care about NASCAR. I want an indycar game.

I'd really like an indycar game too. Especially as the series is starting to use more road courses than ovals. There are a lot of good road courses in the irl that you just don't really see in games.

It is nothing like FC, SCC .
Belive me when i say this will put the company on the world map .

Care to explain this comment? Although Nascar has fans all over the world the majority of it's fan base are from North America. So it'll be the typical scenario where the game will sell shedloads in north america, but it'll probably take ages for a release in other territories, where it won't do very well if it gets released in those territories at all. I have a lot of friends here in the uk who like motorsports such as f1, motogp, road racing(such as the Isle of man tt), touring cars (both foreign and domestic) and rallying. But none of my friends like nascar. I quite like it, but i'm not a huge fan. There's just not really a market for it over here. So a nascar game will not do really well in certain territories, and won't put a company "on the world map". It will however make the company a lot of money in North america... Providing the game is good.

I wonder if this game will realistically have the kind of drafting that was in the 500 a couple weeks ago? Be very good if it did.👍
But it would need a lot of aerodynamic no-how I'd say.

Yes, 2 car hook up has been confirmed.

This game reminds me of the Atari Games like Nascar Heat, which means I have to buy it. I played Nascar Heat to death, still one of the best Nascar games on the consoles IMO. Althought the best Nascar games ever were the Papyrus Nascar Racing series. I wish Nascar games would go back to the way they were. There's something about the EA games after about '08 that just went downhill. This game though, seems to look good and has me excited to get back into racing ovals.

They are going back to the way they were. Ed Martin from Papy is working on it. Richard Towler, iRacing NASCAR Champ, is consulting.

Will the AI actually wreck at times rather than it being an error in the coding? Makes the game interesting.

Three new diaries are up.

Presentation looks awesome and looks like the spotter will have variety in what he says, unlike the EA games that were just a few bland comments. Career mode sounds like fun, wished they would have been more in depth with what it exactly involved though.

Can't wait for this one. As long as the physics are good, I can see myself playing it for many many hours to come.

Didnt work for me, I'll post it on here.

Did you notice the "m.youtube...."? All you had to do was delete the "m.". You'd think YT would redirect to desktop if a non mobile is detected!

Thanks

I like that we get to celebrate after a win now. :p

You could in the EA games, this looks like it could be funner though as you can score points for doing it.

Some things I noticed.

-Multiple car numbers, I guess it's not as bad as the 100+ numbers in EA games but it's still a tad disappointing. At least they're real drivers. Although it may be something they are going to correct in the 2011 patch(Assuming they are still planning to do that). Will just be a tad annoying seeing two 7, 16 and 51 cars on the track(those are the 3 I've seen so far).
-Drivers will draft with you, this was something that made Daytona and Talladega horrible in the EA games, no matter what other cars wouldn't draft behind you. Very glad to see they've added that.👍
-AI seems to use strategy like in real life, "Biffle" got back behind him and tried to pass right before the finish line, very impressive.👍
-Rival system, it didn't show much in the video, but very glad to see that they've implemented it. Glad to see it's not a "wreck you every time you are near them" system like most games with a rival setup.

Really the only thing I'm still concerned about is cautions, hopefully they don't just take over right when the incident starts like the EA games. One of the funnest parts is trying to avoid a wreck as it's happening.

Apparently there is direct to Youtube uploading, hopefully you can do more than 30 seconds though.

Yep, PS3 version. I don't think Dave has said much about video uploading on Twitter.

If anyone is looking for a league to join for NASCAR The Game, which is always the best way to go for online racing games, The RCRL still has open spots for the PS3 side. Xbox league is full I believe.

http://www.thercrl.com/

32 drivers in each league. Two rooms of 16 drivers. So you get to compete against more then 16 for the whole season. Qualifying will be at 8:30pm est every Sunday races start at 9pm. 50% laps damage on cautions on assists off. Race schedule will follow the real schedule the best we can do to the delay. But we will race every track.

Sorry if this is the wrong spot for league info. It's just the most likely spot to get noticed for this game. It's kinda confusing getting signed for a ride. As you don't just signed up and instantly ur in. You have to post in the teams sub forum and then they'll send you a contract offer in ur rpm link. Any questions PM me on psn@ thal30 Thanks guys
