Believe you and me. If you have ever tried a worthy sim, then try this game(NTG11), the physics are WAY off. It is not even close. Not in the same solar system close.

Again, I hold a big angst on Eutechnyx. They basically lied to me. When I got this game, it was the polar opposite of what they said it was going to be. Then they fed me line after line, give us time, we will make this the iRacing of consoles........And the lines continue. Stop fooling us, we(the avid racer) are done listening. Show it to us, stop saying you can to only fail @ delivering.

I agree with chuyler here. NTG11 is a great game. It is not a simulator and never was intended to be an online league type game. As far as racing side by side online goes, if you cant race side by side then I dont think you can drive in the first place.
Nascar is NOT struggling to keep or gain interest in any age bracket. You just cant make guys that dont like cars, dont know what a socket set is, or dont know where the oil goes in their car develop interest in Nascar. These are the guys that read the Wall Street Journal on sunday instead of watching racing or football.
The game is far from a travesty as put by AGP5000. Nascar grows on a daily basis and with the 2012 speedweeks less than a week away I am very excited.

Bring it

Cannot wait for this game, I really hope they get it right this time as NASCAR has been blown out of the water by console F1 games lately. Codemasters just know how to get the job done. Anyway here is a list of the confirmed new features compiled from Dave's twitter account, copied from the Eutechnyx forums. Note these aren't the only new features, just the only ones that have been announced thus far.

Improved Damage Model; Less tearing
Improved Career mode
AI intelligence "improved"
Paint booth, minor improvements
Possibility of chrome wheels on the cars
Pre-race presentation
16 car online lobbies
More camera angles
3rd person camera angle will have a mirror
Online lobbies "much improved"
The counter no longer resets when new users join
Online practice
Online Qualifying
You will no longer instantly DNF when you run out of fuel. You will continue to roll. (Most likely until either you hit pit road, or lose all momentum, or cross the line to finish)
AI will serve black flags, just like the user
Multiple racing lines
Cars will overheat accordingly
Improved physics system
DNF's are in the game
AI's are supposed to DNF after a hard accident
You will be able to blow your engine
Pit road will be on the proper side at Watkins Glen
Longer burnouts
Improved smoke
Pit stops will be more realistic this year; Not as slow as they were in NTG: 11
Going down pit lane, the AI will enter much smoother. They will also no longer cause accidents.
Pit road animations work smoother
No dedicated servers, although the online coding is "improved"
AI Drivers will be able to use different schemes
Split screen has been improved; You can use your customs. (Possibly change schemes as well)
Expanded race weekend.
New practice/qualifying setup editing features
Correct spoiler design at Superspeedways
Spotter/Crew Chief Chatter Improved
Track Evolution throughout a race
The game will NOT have the year in its title (hopefully soon we will learn what they plan on titling the game)
Game will be shipped with the 2012 season. Which continues to lean to a late 2nd Q or 3rd Q release in 2012.

Good to see online practice and qualifying will be added, someone has been listening after all. Not sure I'll be too pleased about the "minor" Improvements for the paint portion.

Hopefully it is an overall better game than 2011, despite how hard I tried I just couldn't get into it.

I agree with chuyler here. NTG11 is a great game. It is not a simulator and 2. never was intended to be an online league type game. 1. As far as racing side by side online goes, if you cant race side by side then I dont think you can drive in the first place.
3. Nascar is NOT struggling to keep or gain interest in any age bracket. You just cant make guys that dont like cars, dont know what a socket set is, or dont know where the oil goes in their car develop interest in Nascar. 1. You obviously have not played the "game" if that is your statement. My point is there is a "bubble" glitch, where if you get to close beside someone, you both go like 2 similar ends of a magnet.

2. Then why make a game for online play and promote it as such?

3. Then why are the races not selling out and big dollar sponsors fleeing like termites to steel?

4. You need to show me the neilsen ratings and attendance records of FACT to show where you can prove this. I'll show you the last 4 years of ratings and attendance via nascar.com, then you tell me where it is "grows on a daily basis"

5. This was your first post to this forum(gtplanet), and you thrash me, right on bud. Play iRacing, then play what Eutechnyx stated to be the next best thing to it. Then come back after you compare those apples.

I might or might not be so proud to admit I have been online/sim racing for more than half my life. I can tell you from more than a mile away, Eutechnyx dropped the ball, and after 3 patches, it is still a mediocre @ best beta, not even game. If you can prove you have more knowledge in this category, then I am ALL ears........

Obviously you have never watched NASCAR, been to a race, or even read up on news and information.
1. There are many reasons why the advertisers and sponsors aren't running out and "buying out the tracks". Partly because they have a massive amount of sponsors on all the cars, but mainly because many tracks and NASCAR are prohibiting sponsors from going overboard. You do see them outside the track where there are 100's of tents and booths setup with free stuff, but obviously you haven't been to a race to witness this.

Attendance records are decreasing in some areas, yes. Cost of seats and advertisement/promotions of the race are a huge factor. Economy is still sucking and people can't afford the $60 seat price for the nose bleed section, not to mention the $30 parking pass and hours of waiting to get in and out of the area. Also, with the case for Auto Club Speedway, the owner of the track was a complete b***h (she was a woman) and would not lower the price for admission, so they suffered. With that said, the attendance records are still astounding.

With most tracks reaching at least 50,000 people, show me records of all baseball/basketball/football stadiums hitting those numbers every time there is a major home game against an opponent. You just don't see it. Also, record viewer numbers are being hit on television for the races which is why you'll see 4 tv stations nationally televise it every week (SPEED, FOX, TNT, or ABC/ESPN). To say this is a major sport with a massive following would be an understatement, and if you don't agree, you're obviously ignorant or mentally handicapped.

2. To prove my points said in (1), here are the NIELSEN (learn to spell :dunce: ) ratings and the ISC attendance records from years past.

Once again, the following for NASCAR is unbelievable.

3. Yes, this is also my first posting on this specific online forum, just because you have been here longer, doesn't make you any better then anyone else. This isn't a role playing game here, you really aren't that special, so take a step down from your non-existent pedestal.

I have played video games for most of my life (I'm 22), and like to think I understand how marketing and video game sales and reviews work. Eutechnyx DID NOT drop the ball on this game. It was a decent crack at something completely different for them, and for that, I commend them. That said, there's room for a lot of improvement. They were in over their head on this one and for that, a lot of things were rushed for it to be released on time. If you think that EA did a better job than them from 2005-2009, then you're the only one and deserved to be taken out back and shot. They changed very little in that time on their games and it was absolutely god awful for a industry leading company. I was ashamed for them, and as a motorsport fan, and video game player, it was a huge disappointment. I think Eutechnyx needs to take advice from Turn 10, who do a very good job at more realistic racing games, Forza is by far the best game I have played for a console game.

Granted, I'll give you the benefit with iRacing, I have never played it. But then again, I don't have the time and money to go out and purchase a $800 desktop and monitor to play this, and then pay a monthly fee. I'd rather spend money on a $60 game, and be able to enjoy it on my couch every once in a while. I would also rather go out and see a race in person, in Daytona Beach with my girlfriend, who I also enjoy spending my money on then to spend that type of time and money on a simulator game, But I digress.

Back on topic... is this merely a updated 2011 game? Or a Beta of NTG2012? Idea's?

Probably a beta version of 2012, doubt they'd update the 2011 game just for that feature with Jeff.

Engine already sounds different from 2011 and one of the cockpit views is different too.

Appears that was an early build... official screenshots, release date coming soon according to NTG facebook page.

Damage at "75%".

Product shown courtesy of an Autodesk product. Makes me rage even more knowing that I don't know how to do 3D modelling all the while having that same product :indiff:

On-topic: About time the damage looks like it doesn't has the internals cutting out of it.

As many flaws that NTG11 had, it was way better then EA sports last travesty of a so-called NASCAR game. I hope Codemasters gets the license, but until then, I hope NTG12 is better.

I had fun with NTG 2011. I felt the driving was way better than the late EA games. It could have been slightly harder though.

NTG11 seems a little better since patch 3, bump drafting much easier. Got to 27th at Daytona before Matt Kenseth wrecked me :grumpy:

I wish they'd give us some sort of guideline to when this will be released, even if it's just 'Q3' or something.

Haha, I just went to thier facebook page and they've got a picture of GT5 as their Avatar

Edit: Another lap video, this time from Pheonix:

Wonder if the AI on the new Phoenix will cut the track for the hell of it...

I hope the AI is better. I hope restrictor plate racing is harder.

Couldn't find the video last week, but here it is:

Did they say the visuals would be improved? Because lets be honest NTG 2011 looks like crap.

I quite like the look of NTG2011, was a bit orange sometimes but its not bad looking by any means.

If it is in anyway an improvement over 2011 then this is a must buy for me as I love 2011.

I overall like the improvement in the lighting and color. It was one of the minor visual things I didn't like about 2011.
