In the end I'd say it's just Nascar and France trying to get some hype and news headlines and the penalties will be dropped.

It passed post race inspection at the track, but as Robin Pemberton said, they can't inspect them 100% at the track. Hence why they take the winners car and a couple random cars back to their headquarters to do it more thorough. That's when they found alterations to the rear end that were illegal.

Looks like that moron Denny is trying to pick a fight (by talking trash about RCR) and might just have one with Kevin Harvick after they had contact in practice today. They've been having a shouting match ever sense. Honestly as much as I don't like Harvick, I'd like to see him knock the hell out of Denny. That little prick always acts like he is royalty. First that crap with Brad Keseloski in Nationwide, now he's doing it to RCR in Cup.

Crap I missed it. And this final practice doesn't seem to be televised.

I caught the highlights this morning. Wasn't sure how it started. Also, after seeing both the Bowyer and Childless press conferences, I have to agree that NASCAR might be going a bit overboard with their penalties.

edit: and I hope harvick doesn't take hamlin out of the race after I picked him...

Remember a guy named Jimmie Johnson? Yeah, he won at Dover this past weekend. Double-J is the guy with the championship winning streak of four successive titles. I don't like his chances to get five in a row, but it's money time for the #48.

Up next- Kansas this Sunday.

Sometimes I wonder if Paul Menard is actually a robot. Disappointed or happy, he looks and sounds the same. Its like he's emotionless.

 Speaking of Paul Menard, had a good run yesterday finishing in 8th. I think next year is going to be interesting, with him moving over to RCR. Also well done to Greg Biffle on his victory.

Unfortunately yesterday a couple of drivers chances of winning the title came to a premature end. Congrats to Smoke on his victory, definately put himself back in contention to win the title.

Big 👍 to Regan Smith and his team for gambling with a two tire stop there at the end to lead some laps and come home with a solid 12th place finish. :)

Did any of you hear Danica Patrick's comments after she was wrecked from the latest completed Nationwide race? Man, one thing about Danica- she's not afraid to mix things up and not afraid to call out racers. She's not a punk or anything, but she'll let you know when you ruined her day on the track.

The next race of the Chase is Saturday night at Charlotte! Good luck to all the drivers and teams competing this weekend at Charlotte. Victory is certainly important at Charlotte since so many teams are based there. Who'll get it done? We shall see.

Like she should have. Can't remember the guy's name, but he totally took her out. 👎:yuck:

It was James Buescher. For the first time, I have something to hate about him. He could have stayed right there and let traffic fan out, but instead just jutted out like that. Unacceptable 👎

Great racing at the end of the race between Truex and Bad Brad.

I'm not a huge NASCAR fan or anything so I don't know who's who but last night I was watching the Nationwide series and boy I really love how their cars now resemble stock cars. I can't say why but it just makes it more interesting to me. It's too bad Toyota doesn't even actually have a sports car anymore it was kinda silly seeing a camry alongside the mustang, Impala and Challenger.

Eighteen straight seasons with a pole? Hugely impressive for my favorite NASCAR driver. I do want him to visit Victory Lane again sometime soon and several more times the following season...

No doubt about it that is very impressive. Jeff Gordon is still in the hunt for a fifth title, but like JohnBM01 said, he needs to get too victory lane very soon. Looking forward to the race and good luck to all the drivers. 👍

It seems all that team has to do is get him to where he can see the lead, and he just takes off.
