I'd be really disappointed if that happens. Even though I don't use them that often, it's really fun racing them on all tracks.I'm older than most of you and I used to be a big NASCAR fan (emphasis on "used to be"). The trend has been to turn the series into a show instead of a race. I realize it's all marketing and it pulls in the money, but it has turned NASCAR into the WWE of motorsports, and that is very sad.
As far as the original question of this thread. I don't think there should be more NASCAR in GT5 or 6. I believe a lot of the problems with this game are due to it trying to be too many things. If I want to race NASCAR, F1, rally, etc., then I'll buy a game that concentrates on that style of racing. GT5 uses the "quantity over quality" approach, so nothing is really done well.
That's not fair. Money is too big of an issue to buy another game simply to use the NASCAR racecars only on NASCAR tracks
Especially rally, I won't buy another game JUST for those things. I honestly believe you're in the minority, hugely.
They were going to hold kart racing for GT6, but something was leaked about karting so Kaz went ahead and put it in. They left out two other leagues though. Thank goodness they left kart racing in, I wouldn't play GT5 as much even though....(read below)
The variety is there for a reason. I don't use the karts almost at all, but I use Kart Space and custom kart tracks pretty often. I don't use the NASCAR tracks much besides Indy road course, but I use the NASCAR racecars in free run about as much as I use other racecars on the Ring specifically, which isn't that often.
Some Americans hate NASCAR; some Europeans love it. To take away content and features we have in GT5 from the next Gran Turismo would be a mistake, because some people want this game to fit one niche only.
