Natural Aspiration or Turbo

My observations

If the car has the option for supercharging or NA tuning I check to see what the final HP is between the 2 if they are within 100 HP I go with the Super charger. Stage 3 NA tuning yields more then 100 HP then I go with that. Stage 1 and 2 turbos kill NA tuning, Stage 3 it's Iffy Stage 4 is for tracks where there are extremely long straights. If the car has access to to stage 5 turbos, well that kills all other engine types. To bad you can't do what you can in real life and have both a supercharger and a turbocharger.

Some cars can take turbos but are immune to lag. The Camero LM can have a stage 4 turbo with 900+ HP yet there is absolutely 0 turbo lag.

Supercharger > NA > Turbo

at my frist time playing this game, i always go with Turbo cuz i thought it going more faster cuz of more HP :dunce:....

hmmm... ive always thought that turbos were king. i recently raced the suzuki concept s2, and its stage 2 turbo had less (albiet only 3hp less) horsepower, than an equivelant stage 2 turbo.

like i said earlier, i prefer turbo cars, but my favourite NA cars are the nsx's. they are excellent!

I love how people come here to talk serious talk about cars and suddenly Initial D references come out the wazoo. I guess this is the kind of audience the GT series is attracting nowadays?

Also on the issue of anti-turbolag systems.. Has anyone looked at what happens when you overheat a turbo system? Not sure if the anti lag systems would do this but it sounds dangerous and likely reduces the lifespan of the turbo.

Back on topic..

If the car can't be tuned NA, and cannot use a supercharger, I will obviously use a turbo kit. Usually only stage 3 at the highest, rarely stage 4 if I absolutely need the horsepower to stay competitive. If the car (i.e. fully tuned corvette z06 for example) can use a supercharger, I'll use the supercharger instead of NA. Most times it will provide more low end torque and ultimately makes for a much more responsive car in my experience. But, I'm a Corvette guy so it's to be expected :)
