This is a huge can of worms, for sure. I think it can be good as long as nobody goes Pete Rose. In other words, I'm all for it for the fans, but they have to make sure players or coaches aren't a part of it. They should have lifetime bans for players found to be involved with sports betting or conspiring with other sports betters. A one and done policy. I think the NBA teams are small enough and the players are close enough that they would be better about policing themselves.

The last thing the NBA needs is a Juventus-like scandal. But the refs have always been crooked, right?

There are already enough fixed NBA games :p, last thing we need is gambling to come in to the equation.

Well that doesn't effect international people, down under you can virtually bet on anything

Yeah now that you mention there's a guy on my team who has been placing bets on various NBA games for years.

I've previously betted on some regular season games awhile ago.

Betting options are quite interesting to say the least.

I don't gamble myself, but picking most NBA games must be a real lottery!

Hawks owner Bruce Levenson is going to sell his team, after he allegedly sent out a 'racist' email in 2012. This is probably stemming from much pressure, due to what the Donald Sterling saga brought the league.

Miscellaneous news.. So my Suns are furthering their addiction for signing brothers, and are interested in Zoran Dragic...
We already have the Morris twins, one of the Plumlee Brothers, used to have a Zeller, and had a Lopez twin... now this?

Ty should go into comedy after his career. This is gold.

NBA opened an Australian online store today, needless to say the range is terrible, no Australian players' jerseys, not even a Lebron Cleveland jersey (if they're even out yet). Still leaves me wanting a DeRozan swingman jersey with nowhere to buy it that I can find.

Sigh... The suns and their quest to unite all the brothers in the NBA under 1 team.
After uniting the Morris twins, they're about to sign Zoran Dragic. I wouldn't mind that, except he'd be the 7th guard on the roster.... Half of the team plays the guard position.:nervous:

The story that has been grasping the NBA storylines of late has been what Atlanta Hawks owner Danny Ferry made remarks about. Just hearing (indirect quote) "...he's got a little bit of African in him..." and hearing it being said in some negative context in regards to Luol Deng is just horrible. D. Ferry has taken an indefinite leave of absence. For most people, it should be more like he should be fired- don't let the door hit you on the backside.

Also, Paul George was disciplined for his comments in regards to the Ray Rice situation. He noted Ray Rice should continue his career. More: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/george-apologizes-twitter-comments-ray-153326667--nba.html

I also read that Chauncey Billups will retire after 17 seasons in the NBA. Best wishes to him moving forward.

Play nice and use your head, kiddies.

Could be worse......remember a couple seasons ago when the New Jersey Nets had like 5 or 6 people called Williams on their team? They could literally put a line-up on the floor where everyone was a Williams! It's surprising how many twins are in basketball, there's also a pair on the Lithuanian national team (didn't catch if they were identical though).

 Playing zone defense when everyone else is man-to-man.

But in all seriousness though, imagine how great Harden would be with proper D. He's Kobe minus the elite defense.

I think his offense is overrated but meh, it's not like he's terrible. He sure does choke when the pressure is on though (see: his entire playoffs career).

Edit: Australian fans have more reason to be excited. Joe Ingles has signed a 1yr deal with the L.A. Clippers, and their wing rotation is terrible so he's a good shot at getting minutes. What is that now? 8 Aussies?
Mills
Baynes
Bogut
Dellavedova
Bairstow
Exum
Ingles
maybe Motum with Utah
It keeps looking better for the all Aussie team I want to build on NBA 2K15. If I can sign Euroleague players to the NBA in that game it'd be even easier, otherwise I might need to custom make Ben Simmons, Thon Maker and maybe Deng Adel or something.

James Harden is a Kobe minus the defense? Were we watching the Playoffs against the Thunder or Portland where he just choked the ball way? Kobe would have been jacking up shots left & right, regardless if he was making them or not.

Harden is garbage. I think that beard has messed up his peripheral vision.

The US team was also hot, hot garbage during the FIBA cup. The only reason they won the tournament is because everyone can shoot contested, ridiculous shots, and all the other countries can't make a layup to save their lives. Serbia completely outplayed the US but routinely missed wide-open shots and gimmes under the basket.

Harden wasn't the only one. Kyrie was ****ing garbage on D. Seriously, unless LeBron can turn into Captain Lockdown on more than one guy (he didn't have the best defensive season last year), the Cavs are going to stink defensively. They're gonna get exposed hard in the playoffs, if not sooner.

So the Suns signed Bledsoe on a 5yr $70mil deal. At least they didn't pay him the max, but I still think they overpaid for an unproven guard who can't shoot or stay healthy.

What I find funny is this is the 4 year, 56 million contract they offered as the comprise, with an additional year added in. They must trust his knees and Isaiah Thomas's ability to take some of Bledsoe's minutes.
Also, Suns were somewhere near 24-11 when Bledsoe and Dragic played together.

EDIT: Zoran Dragic is a Sun! I have no idea what my team is doing but I'm happy anyways!:dopey:

California love for this post.

You heard that new Clippers owner Steve Ballmer wants his players NOT to use Apple proudcts and instead use Microsoft products? Could you imagine playing for the Clippers and using a Windows Phone or a Surface instead of an iPhone or a iPad? Would you revolt? I'd probably be different because while I don't have an Android phone, I do have a couple of Android devices. So if I played for this guy, I would be a bit more happy with my Android devices than most Windows devices. And if I get booted from the team over something like this, I'd cry foul.

People have been making fun of the upcoming new arena for the Golden State Warriors, saying its design looks more like a toilet bowl. Here is a plan of the new arena:

What do YOU think about this?

Besides mentioning the Los Angeles Clippers and the Golden State Warriors, I still want you all to go see some old NBA games just to get excited for the new season and even to educate yourself on past games and players. For example, I saw a bit of a December 23, 1993 game with the Orlando Magic at the Chicago Bulls. So go see some older NBA games in addition to a lot more recent games.

The Spurs have finally re-signed Aron Baynes.:D It's only 1 yr deal, but at least it gives him another chance to prove his worth. Depending on whether Motum gets his contract with the Jazz, we have 7-8 Aussies in the NBA this season. Really looking forward to NBA 2K15 and the "MyLeague" mode they have where you can control more than one team. I'll have the Raptors out East, and make an all Aussie team probably out West so they don't clash too often, I'm thinking either the Wolves or the Kings for tradeable assets to get players like Bogut and Exum.

Edit: Forgot to mention, Rondo is out 6-8 weeks after breaking his hand. That should help the Celtics' tanking efforts, and might give Smart added experience at the Point. It doesn't help Rondo's trade value though.

Shabazz Napier is looking like he should be the starter. He's ruining the bench team on both sides of the ball. Highly intelligent defense on display so far, as well as great court vision and flashy passing. If he looks as good against NBA starters, he's going to be a superstar in this league.

From the NBA's official facebook page:

To me, It's a tie between the shooting of Curry-Thompson and the playmaking of Dragic-Bledsoe. Wall-Beal is a close second (though that could change if they improve this season), and Irving-Waiters isn't even in the conversation.

Surely Lowry-DeRozan should be in that conversation? Both are capable of putting up points, they're better defensively than half those pairings, and Steph Curry needs to be knocked down a few pegs just for his high turnover rate. Maybe I'm just biased.:banghead:
