Two trades have occurred on the draft's eve:

Indiana gets: SG Jeff Teague.
Utah gets: PG George Hill
Atlanta gets: #12 pick from Utah.

New York Knicks acquire Derrick Rose, Justin Holiday and 2017 2nd round pick from the Chicago Bulls for Robin Lopez, Jerian Grant and Jose Calderon.
 
I wish the best for Rose. He has been one of my favorite players to watch since his big 2011 season. Just an unfortunate injury and a hard time getting his confidence back up. He was dropping 18ppg on the last half of this season at 40%+, so he's still got some fire under him.

Seriously? Wow, that is an awful deal for the Bulls. The Knicks are awful. They have Hornacek as their head coach. They should have hired Thibs to go with Rose.

The Knicks will bungle this. I cannot see them doing much of anything.
 
Not the owner, the team. They got off to a good start last season & hovered around as a .500 team around mid-season with a 22-22 record. Unfortunately, that 22-22 half season record ended with a 4-game losing streak, 1 win, & then a 6-game losing streak resulting in 23-32 before the All-Star break and it went down hill from there. The team would manage to put together only one consecutive winning streak of just 2 wins afterwards, whilst finishing the last 3 months on a terrible 9-23 record.

I'd say they did better than the season before, but it wouldn't be hard or a compliment going from dead last to just 2 spots above dead last. Rose doesn't have the ability to magically change that, & Dwight would need to throw aside his ego and try to become something close to what he once was consistently. It looks good on paper, but their track record over the last 2 seasons doesn't bode well. Will need more than the Triangle Offense to get that team back up near the Playoffs.

If the Knicks pull that off, the Barclays center is going to book Cirque Du Soleil for the entire season.
 
I still can't see the Knicks becoming that great at this stage unless they build a solid bench. Even with just Rose, Melo and Porzingis they could be a top 6 team in the East, but not without a vastly improved bench.

No one remembers Shabazz Muhammad's age problem? :lol: Granted, it was only a year difference, but still, didn't really affect his career.

Also, free agency is coming up. I'm gonna have to get used to the exploding salary cap, because "Solomon Hill/Cole Aldrich/ any low-level FA looks to get $9-13 million a year" just sounds like insanity to me. (I mean, Eric Bledsoe makes $14 million a year! That's a bargain now!) :p

If you didn't know, I'm a Houston Rockets fan. Last season was just laughably bad. Absolute clown show. Amateur hour. We are MUCH better than the crap we put out in the 2015-2016 season. I can only hope this season will make us forget almost all about last season.
 
I read today that the 76'ers need to spend an extra $60mil this offseason just to reach the salary floor.:crazy: Waiters is going to get paid a silly amount.:banghead: Does anyone know if the Utah Summer League will be televised/be on League Pass?
