lol I did the exact same thing. Bought one of these shower seats for 5 dollars at a thrift store

,

put a piece of 1 x 8 on it and two 35lb dumbbells. Works amazing. Just be careful weights are secure had one fall on my foot while drifting lol. Going to tie strap together. Low profile low cost. The couch gave it a bit more stability. May put two cross bars on each side.

That’s awesome I think one of those chairs for the disabled are usually on the expensive side. Great creativity.

If you go budget you might as well go budget all the way, right.

I looked at the Rigid solution. It doesn't turn the correct way. Also looked at PVC and it was more expensive once all the pieces were assembled.

It doesn’t go flat? Or when turning it doesn’t hold stable?

To really go cheap, but even more solid than I got I think this may be best. Seat back comes off. About 35 bucks new not sure about used. It's height adjustable and ready to support up to 200 lbs. I went expensive on my electronics, will get to a good a great race seat later. For now the low profile and easily moved solution is working with the wife lol.

Also looked at saw horses but the ones they had. blocked feet. One you found looks better. I had ordered a 400 full seat solution on Amazon but changed my mind due to size. Did you find something your going to use?

I’m going to pick up the rigid tonight and give it a go. I think you might have to have the rod between your legs.

good luck on the Rigid. The one I looked at the feet would need to turn the other way so my pedals could work.
