In case it wasn't asked, but will Heat be offline single player (as well as the proper multiplayer it seems to be).

Also worth noting some snippets of gameplay were showing up to 12 cars in a race, and apparently multiplayer supports up to 16 players.

Are we looking at the same game here
IDK, maybe its video quality and post effects, but all this video looks like new mobile version of NFS No Limits. NFS'15 was astonishing, somewhat photorealistic, Payback was on par with Rivals which was beautiful and this... its just looks like they capture video from original Xbox One in 720p and than upscale it into 1080p.

Personally, I wouldn't make a full judgment on the visuals based on a compressed YouTube video.

There's going to be off-roading in this game? :ill:

I liked the offroading so that's fine

Personally, I wouldn't publish a horrible compressed YouTube video as a gameplay premiere trailer  As far as there isnt higher quality video I cant say something good about those visuals, who knows, maybe technology that can capture this video in higher quality just isnt there yet :D

So, can i play this game byself or not? Getting really sick of forced teams and crews and the like in games. I kinda like what i am hearing but the scepticism is super high with me this time.

Most likely yes. Though not sure whatever online is the requirement or not even when playing singleplayer/by yourself.

Always online is not a real issue for me. The system has drawbacks but my ps4 is online 99.9% of the time i play anything anyway. My concern is this, and what exactly they mean by it...

I want to play my games alone mostly. Forced socialising in games is getting really annoying. I have a real life and real people i socialize with. When i game, it is for "alone" time essentially

I would say yes. I also expect that would be one of the ways to win money & parts. Most of what we've seen & heard likely applies to offline. The crew stuff might be the online aspect along with online racing.

I'll take it. Previous NFS games (& GT Sport) have some off road driving & I like it.

They may have released a great looking trailer at Gamescon, but those of us who couldn't attend have no choice to look at compressed YouTube videos. So far, the game is looking like a purchase for me. I truly want to sample a demo before I plunk down my dollars.

I dont think it refers to the literal players. More like the "crew and fame" in the storyline sense.

Even if it does refers to the literal players, it'll be like The Crew 2 in the end (see what I did there), completely optional though could spice thing up abit compared to the single player.

How high does your hype meter go? Does it max out at 5 or 10?

It goes up to 10 (totally not an obvious setup for an obvious reference in the future), though 8 and above are reserved for special occations. And there are a fair few questions that need a fair few good answers before this gets any more than a 5. Like, for instance, if the setting is any good in any way, shape or form.

As many Ignore lists as I'll be thrown back on for saying this, whatever else the game may have going for it is irrelevant if the setting isn't good. What we've seen of it thus far neither adds nor subtracts on the Hype-O-Meter.

Speaking of which, let's update the Hype-O-Meter now that the gameplay is in:

It remains at 3, but edges slightly closer to a 4. It answered a couple of questions, though not the ones I'd argue needed answering the most. Also they weren't the most convincing of answers and a couple of them left me with even more questions than when I went in.

Also I'm still undecided on whether I'd dress up my character as sensibly as possible, as garishly as possible or whatever makes them look most like a stereotype Saturday-morning-cartoon american-football-jock.

Who am I kidding, if I do decide to get Heat, I'll bring the Emmental.

Well, they have *checks calendar* 81 days left to convert the non-believers. For me, demo or bust.

Subscription ;)

I'm not paying them each month to play only enough games to count on one hand. NFS is currently the only title they have that I'm remotely interested in.

Cars so far, the 180 hasn't changed since 2015, app wont let me take the wing off the miata for some reason, but that'll mostly be unchanged, currently working on the trolvo

So apparently one of the more interesting gameplay elements is the fact that any parts or money you win doesn't get immediatley saved to your inventory, you have to go back to your hideout to save them. what this also means is that if you get into a chase and the get stopped by police, anythign you won gets confiscated. Kind seems to be like how it worked in NFS Rivals.

I've been having that issue with the headlight tints. Once I select one, it stays on and won't be removed after selecting stock headlights.

Other than that, somewhat enjoying playing around with the app.

I thought that Ferrari returning was a far fetched hope, but them returning AND having a slew of cars including a Testarossa, an F40 and a **** (pun intended)? Colour me surprised... I hope they have some sort of customization though
Stoked to see the Murcielago in, bit disappointed it's not the old generation but who am I to decide lol
Subaru and Mitsubishi really delivered this time around
Also the A90 Supra is in the game... sorta... the new BMW Z4 that is *I know, outdated joke
Interested to see how the hero cars will play out (Eddie's Skyline, Rachel's 350z, Razor's [our] M3 GTR). Wonder how will they be acquired?

The gameplay overview video looks good, now all I hope is a improved physics from PB and I'm ready to buy it. The Car list is fairly disappointing, there is way too many variant of existing cars and it looks like it is just padding to make it looks huge:

- 2 BMW i8 (Coupe and Roadster)
- 3 BMW M4 (Coupe, Convertible and GTS)
- 2 Chevy C7 (Grand Sport and ZR1)
- 2 Ferrari 458 (Coupe and Spyder)
- 2 Ferrari 488 (Coupe and Pista)
- 2 Ferrari LaFerrari (FXX-K Evo and Standard)
- 2 Jaguar F-Type (Coupe and Convertible)
- 4 Lamborghini Huracan (Coupe, Roadster, Performante Coupe and Performante Roadster)
- 4 Lamborghini Aventador (S Coupe, S Roadster, SVJ Coupe and SVJ Roadster)
- 3 Mclaren 570S (Coupe, Spider and the high spec 600LT)
- 3 Mercedes AMG GT (GT, GTS Roadster and GT R)
- 2 Nissan 370z (Nismo and 50th Anniversary)
- 2 Nissan GT-R R35 (Standard and Nismo)
- 2 Porsche Cayman (GT4 and 718 GTS)
- 7 Porsche 911 (991) (GT3 RS, GT2 RS, GTS, GTS Cabriolet, Targa 4 GTS, Turbo S and Turbo S Cabriolet)

Didn't know they are different generation but they look very similar visually though, the difference seems a lot lesser compared to the 991 and 992.

Each time something new is revealed it seems like they've taken a step in the right direction. The exhaust sound tuning is a really nice option, as are engine swaps, and the way you have to take the parts back to your garage without the police confiscating them sounds interesting too. Visually I think it looks pretty great, especially at night, and I look forward to taking photos around the city. The only thing I'm a bit concerned about is the handling however I'm not going to make any assumptions about the physics/handling until I've played the game.

That's GT5/6 levels of car list fluff.
I wouldn't put it on a GT6 level because over there we had cars with different paint jobs like the Skyline Midnight Purple edition to boost the numbers. And to be honest even FH4 had convertibles offered as a paid DLC. And again if you look at the most requested cars for FH4 you will find a lot of variants of the cars already in the game (Pista, Performante,SVJ...). It also fits perfectly to have convertibles in a Miami alike environment. So, at least I don't have a problem with that.

This carlist reminds me Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2010 with all cars being in Convertible version etc. To be honest... i liked it. And I like it here. That is not on the same level with GT5/6 which had same car with different engine. All of this cars have obvious visual differences. Aventador SVJ and S are completely different and coupe/roadster variants also have different styles. Some people prefer coupes some roadsters i think it is nice to have choice. There are still a lot of fresh cars (whole Ferrari stuff) and a lot of old ones. Those roadsters and special editions of cars are pleasent surprise because i have never expected to see more than 100 cars in NFS game. I thought we will get 20 cars more than payback and that's it. So yeah. I like this carlist.

With the extensive car customisation in NFS, I kinda expect variants to be added as customisation instead of a separate car. Considering we can change the head of the 180SX to be Sil80 in the last 2 games, removing a roof or a different spec could be customisation option too.
