Sad to see that not a lot (alot?) of gameplay footage has trickled out from GamesCom (yet anyway). The next expo I know of confirmed with MW is Eurogamer's at the end of September.

Also still wondering how the Evoque fits into all this....

It looks like the car list is aiming for the interesting rather than the expected whereas the original's was relatively ordinary.
I wonder how they will reveal everything in one expo but ok, they barely spoken about the costumization except with the press.
Anyway the Land Rover Evoque fits in the game because it belongs in the Trucks(SUV) class, if you don't remember at E3 they revealed the car classes that will be in game: Trucks(SUV), Muscles, Sport, GT, Track and Sedans.

^I wonder when it becomes a proper crash, BP's rule was something like castastrophic damage causing the wheels to come off or severe body deformation. Or it could be a hybrid of driveaway and the old 'proper' crash system from older Burnouts and HP2010.

^^I'm still wondering if genuinely road-fast SUVs like the Cayen-X5/6M-ML/G63, GC SRT8/Ram SRT10 or the Juke with the GTR drivetrain will show up.

If the interesting carlist rule plays, I reckon the last will appear.

^ @ youtube "1:20 left or right?" comments. I think the one big thing I'm really going to hate is the part where you meet up to race. I know it shouldn't matter, but it always ticked me off in Burnout where people are meeting up at a location and the others are just having a takedown fest. You guys noticed how long it took for the race to finally commence.

On one hand, it's a Criterion game and BP made an amazing impression on post-launch support. (The year of Paradise indeed.) Even the PC version of HP2010 got the 3 free convertibles eventually.

That was a Microsoft thing; the Xbox version also got it but the PS3 didn't.

Edit: Oh wait, you're talking about the Viper, Bentley and the other one. I thought you were talking about the Viper SRT-10, Panamera and some other ride.

On the other hand, Criterion is apparently the main NFS developer now and I worry EA will force them to churn out 2013's entry so they don't get the freedom to make awesomeness.
The whole point of Criterion developing a NFS title was supposed to let Blackbox have time to develop their own. However, they're restructuring, so Criterion is now the lead developer & hopefully, they won't be asked to churn out new games every year as you said.

I'm not sure about this "find and drive" car thing. That car list looks like it's going to be it. If they are anymore cars, it seems like there would be a one on every corner. I'm assuming the city is probably as big as Paradise so they're not going to be too hard to find.

I'm going to assume Most Wanted Land is going to be much smaller than Paradise City.

That list was rather....unexpectedly smaller than I hoped, thought or possibly dreamed of. But like I imagined, it's all "new cars" for the most part; like they filtered out the best of the best from each manufacturer, as well as not having much from '90-'05.

I imagine older rides will be DLC potentials.. like a Diablo, Countach, 911 GT2, CLK-GTR (wishful thinking), F1 GTR..

The list consists of about 35 cars which is, oddly enough, exactly the same as Paradise's. Not including the 35 Burning route and 2 challenge cars. Also not including the carbons. I'm just hoping they're special cars for doing all the challenges.

If I remember correctly at E3 they said they are going to have over fifty cars, there are 40 cars for you to find and 10 most wanted cars (I don't know if these are the same cars that you can find or 10 exclusive cars to the most wanted list). About the World, they said that it's bigger than Paradise City and has more gameplay on it.

Matt said in an interview that its going to be bigger than Paradise City. And I don't think the car list includes the 10 Blacklist Cars. 👍

I'd imagine the many 'modeled to HD-ish quality' cars from the NFSs of the past 5 years could be easily DLCed in. (Prostreet onwards.)

Also, one of my alternate, unlikely but hopeful theories on the reduced car count is that the cars are being semi-remodeled and it's become a battle of quality vs quantity.

Pessimistic theory? The game is being rushed and there's simply no time.

If they pull the (super secret) 'EA crew edition' or 'Dr Pepper code' stunt again, resulting in unique locked cars, I'll be stupendously annoyed.

(That said, it was only really possible thanks to the coupe/convertible variations. The Fairhaven cops don't seem to pack as-exotic hardware as those Seacrest boys.)

Why don't they just call this game Burnout?

Because it certainly isn't Most Wanted.

I am looking forward to it but in all honesty, this should have just been a Burnout title. From what I have played, and what I have seen; that exactly is what it is.

While it may be bigger geographically, they said the same about Hot Pursuit and being someone who's played the game for over a year, Seacrest certainly didn't feel all that big given how many times I've driven past the same landmarks so many times.

I just hope there's more to drive around than what's been shown.

what should the new unoficial title be
Burnout: Most wanted ?
Need for speed Burnout most wanted ?
Most wanted :burnout edition?

On a rather random note, anybody else disappointed with the lack of classic cars in this game? The only car from the 60's is the Cobra. I'm sure there will be DLC but a few really should have been in there originally.

The original MW didn't have any classic cars, I don't think they'd stand a chance in hot pursuit. Yet one may defy all the odds and escape a police pursuit and make it back to the safe house triumphantly with a Model T. In my opinion, save them for sims like Shift.

Hoping for the following :

Steering wheel support - I heard the RUN didn't have it. Since HP has it I am not too concerned about this.

Crossbuy and crossplay - I am gonna have a hard time deciding between Vita and PS3 versions if crossbuy isn't supported. Theres really no reason not to do this as I doubt many people will buy a game twice... well I guess maybe if there was crossplay and hey were really addicted. Also this is EA we are talking about...

I found that a bit odd too. This will be 100% arcade handling and a wheel probably wouldnt work very well at all. I guess it would be good if you want a workout while you play.

I use my DFP to play NFS:HP all the time, its really fun with a wheel, reminds me of the old classic arcade games.

That said a controller is actually probably easier to use, but I have no problem beating missions with the wheel.

With Hot Pursuit it makes sense. Its arcade with a little bit of sim. If MW2012 is anything at all like Burnout Paradise, its going to be 100% arade handling. But as long as you are having fun with your wheel, thats all that counts. 👍

That, and I am playing Hot Pursuit again. It's still awesome. And my Vita is more than ready for some good racing action. So yes, I think will get both one way or the other.

Hot Pursuit was not good at all with a wheel wasnt designed for it only shift and shift 2 were good with a wheel. Not hoping for a wheel with this one at all( maybe with Grid 2)

Hot Pursuit's steering inputs won't translate correctly on a wheel when drifting. If you noticed that the car counter steers on its own, then you should be able to make sense why it wouldn't.
