Yeah it was the same as Burnout Paradise, just wait soon we'll have some actual good racers on here.

On a separate note, LG not pro, I got 273 MPH in the Veyron, so there's that. Idk about the venom but my friends can keep up with me in one. I'm actually really good with the Veyron though so..

Looks like some of the bugs that we found are going to be fixed in a future patch.

Can't they fix the performance issues, atleast for the PS3? The amount of hiccups and game freezes I've had and have (especially this weeks EOTW) is ridiculous. Very tiresome.
 
You mean for the disc version. The digital/PSN version only freezes from the usually console hiccup & the concurs glitch.

Yes, the disc vesion. I don't know if it's even possible but an install option would've helped, I suppose.

I had the Venom doing 267MPH nitrous burning for a quarter mile so it won't go faster.

Despite what the mod stats say, powershot actually gives you a higher top speed than burn. Once you hit normal top speed, if you use powershot it will still speed you up. Whereas with burn you'll just stay at original top speed. Easy to test with the Tesla.

For the Veyron vs Venom top speed debacle, IIRC the Veyron has higher actual top speed, but the Venom has better top end acceleration. So it makes it as if the Venom has higher speed. For the Veyron to beat it you need to use nitrous at the right time. Negligible difference like you said though.

Burn lets you over boost the top speed longer. I never use Powershot near top speed because it's a waste.
 
Burn only gives you an extra 2-3 km/h, but it lasts for the duration of the nitrous (around 5-6 secs for burn pro). Powershot on the other hand gives you up to 20 km/h extra, but only for 1-2 secs. It depends on the conditions I guess. Burn is better for close quarters racing, but if you're so far ahead might as well use powershot to test top speed :p
 
I always use Burn. Powershot just isn't useful enough. I can use Burn any time I want and I can control it. With Powershot you can't control it and have to wait for the nitrous to be full. Just not practical for me. Only useful for setting speed records but for anything else it's awful.
 
I never had Powershot over boosted that much. I had the Venom going near top speed at a jump & Powershot to 267 before hitting the jump. Also Powershot is much better for tight close tracks. Burn is better for longer straighter tracks. Come to think of it... *evil grin*
 
Powershot is impractical for racing, pretty much. Yeah, it has to recharge, aaand it's hard to control. Burn is a more constant, safe stream of speed. And you can use it when you want. However, Powershot is by far the best jumping nitrous, and the best speedtrap nitrous.

Yes Powershot boosts you faster than your top speed, for a few seconds. But atleast you can say you went that fast in that car... (Btw the Veyron is better for jumping, rather than the Venom.)
I went about 400kph in a Tesla once. Changed from a Veyron to a Tesla in Multiplayer...
It's slowed right down though :P.
I did that with a Tesla and a RedBull x2010 in GT5 too, getting up to about 350 while pushing it.

I don't get it, WHY do they put the convertible versions of heaps of cars in MW, instead of the real, faster, lighter, better handling, hardtop ones??? Stupid.

Not true. The Venom doesn't go over 267MPH with LGP while the Vitesse will barely make it over 270MPH with LGP. Not a big difference since you will only ever use that speed in ONE RACE.

I'm treating MW like I did HP3. 99% of the people who play it are crap to decent players. While 1% can actually race & race really good.

They're pretty even, when it comes to a race... I find I sometimes have to slipstream, or wait until a corner, to overtake some Veyrons. But usually I just pull up next to them. :L

In HP3, I used to win just about EVERY Hot Pursuit I played, and even have time to stop and EMP helicopters.
And in MW, there are tonnes of 8,9,10,11,and 12 year olds... Who you just about never have to worry about. Most of the time the decent racers are level 71 and have been for quite some time.

I use Powershot online to race a lot & use it effectively to beat people all the time. Just put Speedhunter on so when you get smacked twice it turns into Burn for 30 seconds. Powershot on the Camaro with SGP & TTP rapes.

Actually the Spyder has the exact same Power to weight ratio as the hardtop version since it has more HP. They limited the top speed because otherwise your face would fall off while going 275 mph.
The Vitesse is a waste of time. I believe this is actually quicker than the SS. It's top speed is limited tho. You believed wrong. It is not faster. It is also heavier, and yes it has a lower top speed too.. Btw it's not as good at jumping either.

The R8 and Gallardo hardtops are a lot faster. The Lambo is 1MPH slower than it's hardtop version. That's it. In top speed. But top speed isn't everything. There's the weight that got added when they undoubtedly strengthened the bottom of the car because it had no roof, which gives it worse handling, and slower braking and acceleration.
Aaand the Bentley Continental. Believe the one in the game is a special version with no hardtop counterpart. Ok yeah sure, but there IS a hardtop one, maybe not the Supersport version, but it is hardtop, and unless they did up the engine for the SS vers, it should be faster.

Physics lesson: If your car is heavier, then it will have more inertia, therefore making braking, and turning harder. There is also more weight to push forward while accelerating, slowing that down too.
Weight = wooorse handling.
Top speed and power aren't everything.

And for every convertible car, they have to strengthen the underside of the car a lot more, because the large amount of strength produced by the roof and all the other stuff has been removed.
Overall, they have added more weight onto the car, during the strengthening.

I used burn for all offline races, never liked powershot at all. But online I forced myself to use powershot to unlock its pro version, and I found it gives me faster times and be more consistent. If you always drive in oncoming, and drift every corner, it'll always charge up enough for you to use it coming out of corners. Burn won't be able to match its acceleration. Once you reach a long stretch of road, just change to burn to stay ahead.

I found having to hold the nitrous button for burn very distracting. With powershot you just 'set and forget'. Burn only gets useful if you fall behind and catch up kicks in, effectively giving you infinite nitrous :p

And yes I prefer coupes rather than convertibles. Both from performance and looks standpoint (Aventador J excepted). I believe the iOS/Android version has the hardtop Gallardo and R8 (because of hardware performance reasons). It also has the hardtop Bentley, but it's just the normal Supersports, not the ISR. @YesButNo, I read right off the wiki page. The Venom Spyder has increased horsepower to make up for the extra 30lbs. So in essences the GT = Spyder.

The Lambo in both hardtop & convertible have the exact same 0-60MPH time & their top speed differs by 1MPH. Also being convertible only makes it back end heavy. Also they don't really strengthen the bottom of the car since with cars nowadays the roofs support nothing. Walk on a newer car's roof it caves right in while an older car's stays strong.

The Vitesse & Super Sport also have pretty much the same 0-60 time. Remember a car being quick doesn't do anything with it's top speed.

With these exotics they don't increase the weight much when converting them to open tops.

It's not the 'roof', it's the B pillar, and the C pillar. They basically get removed from the body. Also, with cars like the R8 and Gallardo, they basically build in a hidden rollcage into the roof. This helps add strength and rigidity into the body. And with no roof, they can't do that.

If a car isn't rigid, and flexes too much, it causes damage to the chassis, body, and makes the car handle badly.
So yes, they do strengthen the cars more.

Half of the Americans Think a Silverado Can out run a Mini Cooper R56...... Now they must be high... even a 15 Year old guy SAID his dad Pickup accelerated 0-60 in under 5 sec. idiots.....

Had they chosen to put in the hardtop versions of cars rather than their convertible counterparts, such as with the R8 and Gallardo, they would probably have handled exactly the same. I doubt Criterion deeply took into account the weight/handling differences that the convertible versions would have in real life.

You could argue that the hardtops look better, but that's just a matter of preference.

And yeah that's why people lower their cars... And come to think of it, the convertibles should have a lower COG. :L Still flexier and heavier.

Even my dad's Toyota Mr2 could outrun a Silverado. :S

The difference between hardtop & convertibles of similar models (Veyron, Aventador) in MW is surprisingly pretty distinct for an arcade game. But yes, at the end of the day it would probably not make much difference.

In fact, I could think of one exotic where the convertible model is quicker than its hardtop counterpart: Pagani Zonda F. They added reinforcements, but made existing structures lighter. The result is the weight remained the same. Some tweaks here and there to the chassis and suspension and you got a Roadster that's faster than a Coupe 👍

It is relevant though, because they are cars, in a car game. >.>
Look over the internet, and you'll see there's a difference between hardtop and convertable. The handling; they flex a lot more.

They should of rather put the hardtop versions in, because they're atleast a tiny bit nicer and faster to drive.
They(Criterion) would of known that there is a difference between HT and Con, but they didn't do anything about it. Maybe they thought it'd be 'cool' to see the driver with the roof down.

Corvettes and Vipers are exceptions. What I mean by 'american cars', are the big fat 'muscle' cars that lots of people in America are crazy about.

Dude we're not talking about RUNNING OVER CARS. LOL. We're talking about driving, and going around corners.
A silverado is basically like a tractor with a windscreen in that aspect.

Yup, the hardtops did handle better, and they do irl too.
 
Don't dis the Silverado man. :( The SS version is actually good at handling.

Also Muscle cars nowadays handle great. Camaro ZL1 & Shelby GT500 Super Snake makes most cars look like crappy Civics.
