The commentator is so random lol. The drag racing is pretty good, but once you heat up the tyres, you cant pause :(

In the PS3 version you can pause during the tyre heat up phase and then during the rest of the race you can pause too. I'll probably take some photos of it later.

I have just brought the game for PS2, and I have to say that so far I am very impressed, apart from the lack of bad damage when you crash heavily. However, I have read on wikipedia that heavy damage is not included due to the lack of proccesing power the PS2 has, so this is acceptable. However, I have had to restart career mode on many occasions already as I am having real trouble with lots of things. First, what cars should I buy and when, what modifications should I do to these cars, etc. And one more thing should I keep the car that you get at the begining?

Can someone please give me some advice on what I have asked about, or has everyone just read the first sentence of my paragraph and not the rest!

Well its upto you on what cars you buy but, I did all the handling related mods first, because the cars tend to slide alot, the mods made it easier to slide too. Go for most of the handling mods IMO.

At the beginning of the game on PS2 I made the mistake of selling the Cobalt once I won it...:( So I had to do the same events over and over till I could afford a new Dragster which turned out to be a Nissan Silvia which now has 438BHP and is a monster. Concerning the 240SX, I kept it for awhile and as soon as I had enough cash to buy and modify something up the 240's standard then I bought a Mitsubishi Eclipse, which has been my Grip car for far too long now...Although it was replaced with a Audi S4. Which is mad.

My current line up looks like this:

Audi S4 (Grip)
Ford Mustang, Currently Tuning (Drag)
Nissan Silvia (Drag)
Pontiac GTO (Drift) Going to be changed for a BMW Z4 M Soon.

Personally I like my cars, although the Silvia will be going soon which will be sad as it's such a cool car.

I'm running my new 350Z for grip and my colbolt for drag yet, doing the bottom half of that first tier before i jump into the sponser event...

Use a fully tuned STi for drag, IMO best ingame for it.

Yes... because I mentioned it first! ;)
But of course its the best drag car for your bucks. Its relatively cheap to buy and modify, and it could slay any other drag cars in the game (well... except the Zonda, but thats another different story) However, its kinda weird that I found that out by accident. Was looking for a cheap dragster and I thought, I need a 4wd with some decent power, so it was either the Eclipse or the STi. Thank god i didn't make the mistake of choosing the Eclipse. :D

Any help concerning drag racing? Basically I have tuned a Mustang GT to Stage 3 everything but it still doesn't have the power to wheelie, any ways I can make it wheelie or recommend a car that can be modified to wheelie for not too much money? Also it needs to have 6 gears.

Well..... the simplest (for me) to make the car wheelie is just lower the front ride height and increase the ride height of the rear wheel. (both set to min/max heights) Then just try to increase the rear tire size (both in terms of rim size and tire thread size) to increase the rear grip. Also, this may sound weird but try to max your final gear ratio and increase each of the gears to more than half (or so I think)
Hopefully these setups will make you car wheelie with ease. I got my Shelby GT500 to wheelie with this setup. 👍

I'll have a go at that later, how much horse power does your GT500 have? My 'Tang has only 548...

Good. That means it will definately will work then. Do you have Prostreet for PS3?

Nope, I'm afraid not. I don't have a PS3 yet you know......
Oh yeah, it will wheelie alright, but just don't expect to wheelie over 400m like the older muscle car...

Sorry. I would have enjoyed sharing blueprints and racing you online etc.

Do you know how much of a factor is wheelie competitions? What I mean is how many are they and are they pretty hard?

Well yeah. I don't really know how "hard" they really are, but the 1st few wheelie events are rather easy. Most of them would only do 180-200m max. Its when at the later part of the game that gets really hard. The AI would usually pull 300+m (which will render you mustang useless... i think) that is at the latter part of the game, so don't worry so much about not wheeling far enough. The events are very little (even at the drag king events) maybe 1 or 2 at any race day sessions.

The trick is to just hit the throttle when you wheelie. Pretty much the same as a normal drag race. Try to hit the perfect shift to wheelie a bit longer.

Well I replaced the 'Tang with a Dodge Charger RT. However, it just doesn't pull wheelie's at all, even with using the tips you provided above. It's got around 838BHP so it certainly doesn't have a lack of power and it has high end Level 2 traction. So I can't think of anything to stop it pulling a decent wheelie.

Cant be. I have the fully tuned R/T and it, IMO is the best wheelie car out there. All my wheelies so far have be constant to the finish line, this racing mode is very easy, so i dont think you need a very good car anyway. But you need to have something like all L3 parts first.

Could you list everything you have purchased for it? If thats no trouble.

I bought, a Stage 3 Power Kit and a Stage 2 Traction Kit and then bought loads of aerodynamic stuff i.e body kit, spoiler and other stuff which shouldn't affect it really.

Everything. I dont understand why you guys aint pulling the wheelie the whole strip. Its fairly easy, just slap the nitrous down when the car is going down....
This way you can pull the whole strip.

I'll take a video tommorrow morning for you so you can analise my probelm. I managed to do a wheelie in my 'Tang once but it wasn't pulling long enough ones so I scrapped it.

Hey, i need some hints on heating my tires... I get 75% sometiems, but Its not enough... lmao I'm having a late jump on these cars still!

When the car is upto around 3rd, about to switch into 4th, the nose of the car tends to start to lower down, when thats happening, press the nitrous and hold it down till the end.

I might get some pics of what I mean if you dont understand now :)
