The IGN video looks amazing! I LOVED hot pursuit and this looks close to it which
is fine by me.
The only weird thing, when the guy asked if the demo was running on PS4, he said
"yes, its definitely running on next gen tech" but didnt confirm PS4?
Im thinking in might be the PC?

Don't know why it matters if it's PC or next gen consoles. All game devs make the game for a computer that's outdated. No game is made for the best possible computer on the market.

What do you guys feel about the EMP? That was a game breaking thing in HP. You see any changes to it?

Well from the live thing just did on PS livestream has 55-60 cars that are available. Of course only a handful has been released.

I rarely got EMP'd outside Arms Race and Most Wanted modes. Interceptor you can just jam it every time if you're a racer & cop... if you let them EMP you then you aren't that good. In Hot Pursuit mode as a racer I usually spike the racers & let the cops stupidly go after them while I dash to the finish.

No need to insult my skills dash I am 20% faster you know. What if you wanted to use the jammer to knock out the cops map or spike? What if you wanted be creative!! Also for the cops in MW it meant insta death at the start of matches and many of times it was impossible to outrun them unless your opponent slowed down dramatically or crashed. Also it did why too much damage for how easy it was to use.

If I had more than one locked on me I crashed on purpose. That blocks the EMP. :sly:

Or take a spike lol. Did less damage and put you in a cut scene. I think in this game spikes will work like in the older games where you don't insta spin.

I'm curious how the longevity of this game will work. Once you beat all the "single player" events what will you do? Just drive around hoping to find another player? Without a multiplayer centered section people without friends will be sol it seems. Unless there's an open lobby then the map might be crowded with more than just pedestrian cars.

And another thing, the video says if more players interact then events tailored to that amount will occur. But if one player is racing, and another player is racing, and then another is racing, and they all meet up, what starts and what stops? Who's race do they play, and who's race gets abandoned, having to start all over again later? Or do racers just collide head first kamikaze then go their separate ways? If multiple cops are chasing multiple perks separately then meet up, someone is getting away. How will the game decide which perk is the most wanted if they're all AI driven?

Seems like people who want to do their own thing, even though they like multiplayer, will unplug their internet if they can't get anything done.

Yeah, but when there's some good racers they catch up and go after you

I used to more ruthless and fight my way to the front and let other players take the bait from the cops in Hot Pursuit. In Interceptor, I would try and sprint for shortcuts and turn around quickly to dodge EMPs.

This seems like a next gen HP 2010...not that there is anything wrong with that.

Just hope it disguises itself from HP 2010 before release.

After seeing several gameplay footages, NFS Rivals is clearly a love child of HP2010 and MW2012. I'm not entirely sure how interested I'm in the PS3/4 version, although both of them are among my favorite arcade racers of this generation. For that sole reason, it shouldn't dissapoint, but I still really hoped for something new. Oh well, time will tell.

What is new? Almost everything has been done & when someone strays to far from the NFS namesake the fans slender it. I believe they should either stick to what NFS is or retire the name.

I heard it was going to have customization in it.

You can customise your livery, rims, paint-jobs, licence plates as well as performance upgrades. It even says so on the official NFS site.

I went back to your first post, you're right.

Your Car, Your Identity: Personalise Your Cars With Performance and Style
Personalise your cars with performance and style modifications. Power up your car with the latest upgrades in pursuit technology and personalise your bodywork with fresh paintjobs, liveries, custom license plates, rims, and decals to show off your car to the world. You can save different configurations and keep a variety of car packages on alert to leave your mark no matter the situation.

If it's MW2012 type mods then that's not performance customization...

Also, liveries & paint jobs are the same thing. :p

EDIT: By what they are saying the performance mods are just the EMPs, spikes, jammers, turbo boosts, etc. Not real performance mods.

I honestly think they had something great going with The Run, but the execution was terrible. I don't know how original the idea is, but I'd like to see it getting another chance, or similiar to it - while it's still ''fresh''.
I believe they should either stick to what NFS is or retire the name.
More importantly, EA should skip pushing out yearly releases.
