Need for Speed: Rivals

The main thing I didn't like about Most Wanted 2012 (as well as the rest of the Criterion titles they did) is the cars were way too sensitive to collisions

The thing is, the whole collision detection system was messed up. Sometimes you could just touch a traffic car at slow speed and the car would go down, sometimes hitting a wall at high speed does nothing. Same goes for takedowns, many times I didn't even touch the other player and he still would go down for no reason. Many times I wanted to take a shortcut through a sidewalk (DRIV3R all over again) and the car would wreck like it was hit by a freight train. Or very rare but the car would crash into nothing, just empty straight road... boom.
I really hope Rivals won't have those issues, and that the handling will be better, something like in The Run.

That's Criterion for yah. ;) I have played Burnout 3 Takedown and Revenge as well as there NFS titles and they all had that problem. 👎 Im cetainly not a big fan of them anymore. Since Rivals is not being made by them anymore, I
may get it but I am not sure.

Personally I didn't think The Run was much better ether, that is just me of course. ;)

Probably a cop on the PS3, due to GTA 5 and GT 6 both on the ps3 figured sure why not.

Cop , PS4 !! - i want to experience this game at its best.

PS3 or 360 would be a compromise IMO

my self I want to get it on ps4 but like my friend said gt6 out on the ps3 plus don't know if many friends are getting the ps4, it would stink getting the new nfs with no friends to play it online.

Personally, I'd go for Cops on the PS3. Not sure about Undercover though. It's likely that the only Undercover car I'd use is the Vanquish, because that is also a racer vehicle. With any other cop car not being available to the racer side, any racer who knows which car belongs to which side is going to see my Ferrari FF, go "Hey, that car isn't a racer!", and immediately take evasive action.

Yeah that's a fair point but you can always make new friends online with the PS4 version.

Personally, it would really bother me knowing that I'm not playing the best version of the game and theres a better version out there. - but that's just me.

Tbh i'm not quite sure how the undercover mode is supposed to work.

If cars are unique to both sides, then it makes going "undercover" pretty redundant.

It defeats the purpose of having an undercover mode if you can tell what side you are based on car type - your cover would pretty much immediately be blown.

For that reason I'm thinking this undercover mode is just a gimmick and not actually fully "undercover"

I think a lot of people are expecting it to be a case of Fast&Furious 1 where Brian is fully undercover in a riced out Eclipse blending in seamlessly with the racers... Instead, I think the 'undercover' mode here will be more a class of cop as in , patrol, enforcer and then top tier cop cars are designated as undercover.
These cars are all black and unmarked but you can still see sirens in the bumpers.... I dont think they can actually be tricked out to look like Racers.

I hope I'm wrong though..

Yeah, that's what I'm getting at. Now, with the Vanquish being available to both sides, there's no telling if the driver is a fellow racer or an undercover cop. With the other cars, a clued-up racer like myself would immediately smell a rat if an LFA or Agera suddenly joined the race. It does seem that the Undercover cars are a class of cop cars, one, according to the NFS Wiki, will be able to "freely integrate among racers before initiating a pursuit."

That is one of those problems, racers can also have black cars but they're not undercover cops that's why a few days ago I mistakenly affirmed that the McLaren P1 was also a cop car, the same thing can be said about the Lamborghini Aventador.

valid point. if it comes out this year on ps4. they still have not giving a release date?

It'll likely be a launch title for PS4.

It's a launch title, however they did say more of the good features are Xone exclusive. Then again you also have Driveclub at launch and a few others.

Wait, what are the "good features"? I have the PS4 version preordered but was thinking about going X1 for this game.
I love the idea of the rumble in the triggers.

Where did you read this!?

If the game has exclusive features on the Xbox One, how come they keep showing it off and running on a PS4!!??

They only showed off Pre-alpha stuff on PC with a PS controller, all stuff that has been shown have been on the Xbox, (Given they show some buttons and it would be xbox) Just to confirm this that it was on PC using a PS controller here is an image

Here is the full article Here

And for the features I would revert back to This Post and will continue to show that Xbox One has more features than PS4.

"And for the features I would revert back to This Post and will continue to show that Xbox One has more features than PS4."

Where in that post it says Xbox One has X features that the PS4 does not????

Also if you look at any footage of Rivals you can see the X and Triangle in the right corner.
The system they are running on is supposed to be dev kits.

You can clearly see it on the menu screen if you watch this entire video.

Didn't you see my pic?? While the demo/whatever is on PC using a PS controller. There has been no actual footage of it being on PS4/Xbox that is confirmed.

For the difference here is the link Here and here

Maybe I'm a bit thick but the first link doesn't actually explain any difference between the game on PS4 versus Xbox One?

Yet the second link explains that PS4 & Xbox One won't even be that different to PS3 and Xbox 360 .... So if they're not gonna be vastly different (except graphics wise) when it comes next gen -VS- last gen, I can't imagine there being ANY difference when it comes to next gen -VS- next gen

New preview article!

* 5 levels of Performance Upgrades (just click t& select, no fine tuning)

* You can unlcok and upgrade various weapons, but you can only equip TWO at a time! ... Not sure how i feel about that, I think i would have preffered HP2010's system whereby you can have 4 weapons mapped to the D-Pad

I think what they mean is that you can have all 4 mapped out but only 2 active at a time. Like heli and roadblock, or roadblock plus spikes. It's probably so that a set of cops that are real users cannot spam spikes constantly to stop a racer.
