I'd love a new GRiD, adored that game.

Oh , on the topic of the run...I wish you still played as Ryan Cooper in the main NFS games.

Best racing game this gen apart from GT5 in my opinion, definally the most fun I've had with a arcade racing game for years, i regret trading it in and hope that now Codemasters have said DIRT3 was the last in the trilogy they focus on another GRID game.

And just to be on-topic and talk about Need for Speed, i personally havent been able to get into any of the new ones in the series since Carbon, althought Underground 2 and Most Wanted are both in my top 10 games of all time.

This game drives me up the walls sometimes...That stupid zooming out from nitrous usage throws off my depth perception and I can't accurately judge how close oncoming traffic is....

Another thing I really hate about this game is how awkward the sensitivity is when steering. It can sense little itty-bitty turns, a swerve, but nothing in between at that same level.... and I'm pretty certain that even if this game had wheel support, this would totally give you a headache.

My dad was actually so good online! He reached Legend status and everything, Made me look like an amateur!

But yeah, don't regret it too much, the online servers got shut down a while back. 👎

Thats a shame but i guess it has been out for a while and not a lot of people play it anymore, it was the first ever PS3 racing game i played online and gently converted me into an online racer.
The le mans event at the end of every season was a class idea too.

I loved the whole "Ravenwest" rivalry too! :D

Back on Topic: Was I right in seeing the Gumpert Apollo on show during the IGN review?

Finished it.
I really wish they didn't recycle and reuse routes....you remember how the track goes in Desert Hills when you tried it on the demo? Yeah, so you will be doing that, and like 10 events later, you're back on this same route, but in reverse.. wtf?! The even dumber part is, it occurs after you leave Vegas....

The rubberbanding is nuts. You know how in past NFS games, if you shoved someone into a telephone pole or some immovable object, they'd wreck and be done since that slows them down a LOT? Well I've been doing that numerous times on many different occasions and they still keeping coming back with a revenge. However, while rubberbanding is applied for them, it's also applied for you at times. It's not that you get a boost, the AI will slow down. I played through this on hard, and many times when you're overtaking groups of people, by the last 2.0km, they slow down and I always zip passed them...

Facing the last dude was intense. You got to have some good control over subtle movements as you have to weave through a tight 2-lane highway oncoming. Then there's the other stuff... make sure you have enough checkpoint resets! You'll be using those a LOT on your first playthrough.

Also, I've concluded the game doesn't have stupidly awkward physics. It's just that the Gallardo is just a pain in the butt to drive in the demo. They should have picked something else because that car left a very terrible impression on the game's physics... maybe the Super Snake would have been a better choice.

Is there going to be any free roam in NFS The Run? I'd love free roam like in Most Wanted. Just roaming around messing with the cops was so much fun. Gave them game longevity.

No Free Roaming... you have TDU2 and Driver:SF for that now. :P

This game is very competitive-based; you're always going to be... on the run... there's no time to lay back and do scenery spotting, what is this, Burnout?

:( I preordered on Xbox to get the limited edition, I wonder if I can change it to PS3 when I go collect it. Good decision? I read that PS3 came with more cars but that it suffered from some bad frame rate issues at times?

Just tell them you're exchanging it since you wouldn't have even opened it at that time.

I did notice some frame rate drops, when the cops went bat-poop crazy and ushered half the racers into a truck, with all the sparks going everywhere  Frame rate drops don't bug me as much, and shouldn't be an excuse to not get the HANDFUL more exclusives. I'm guessing the reason for this was compensation for the exclusives for Shift and HP3 on the 360.

Does one have to download the 7 extra cars that are available to PS3 users? I have no internet at home so even if I got the PS3 version that bonus would be useless to me. Thanks for the help :) I am mere minutes from having to go pick up the game.

All copies of NFS (and probably any EA title) now have that Access Code that allows you to go online. There are other codes for Limited Editions, and yes, it's that code that tells your PS3 you purchased a Limited Edition copy, not the disc itself.

but to answer your question: Yes. You can't punch in the code without signing into PSN. But fear not, you can do a fine job in a M3 or 240Z as they can keep up with the 3 other unlocked cars: ZL1, Super Snake and 911 Carrera S :odd:

I'm still bugged as to how a Trueno even keep up with any exotic car..

Rubberbanding helps you in this game...(literally)

and sometimes it doesn't... I was so mad when I raced that Calvin dude in his SLS.

Oh a huge tip for anyone playing this... To make your built-up drafting worth your time, when the draft gives you the boost (either when you stop drafting or when you max out the gauge), use your nitrous with it... You get a huge acceleration like no other.

I just got this game today and I'm really liking it. problem is i have no friends on my list who have it and i don't think many will get it. Can some people on here please add me because i see some of the cars are unlocked by beating autolog times.
I'm on PS3 and my ID is bluemoon_19

Well you can't win if their time is slower than yours.. You all can add me since I already completed all the stages.... make sure you stick GTP in the body message or else I won't add.

Ok thanks I had hot pursuit so i know how the autolog recommendations work. the way i see it is the more people i have on my friends list who play it the more chance i have of beating a time lol.

The way you should actually see it is how many of those people do you have on your list can you best easily.... some of my set times in the story mode aren't easy to beat... ;)

Btw if you have the Limited Edition, I cheated on the first challenge where you drive the Camaro on a winding dirt path. I was seeing whether or not the issue of wallriding had been addressed; not entirely fixed as I could still take some hairpins faster with said method.

Can you use a wheel with the PS3 or PC version? I have a t500rs.

I will answer my own question...

YES. This is shocking but yes this game is compatible with the T500RS. I tried it on the PS3. I went in to options and set my gas pedal. After that it seemed to automatically set the rest of my config. I even noticed an UP shift and Down shift. Perhaps this game is compatible with the sequential shifter option of the TH8RS. I only played for a few minutes since i had to leave for work. FFB works....steering sensitivity doesn't seem to be well tuned and i don't think i can adjust it.

If steering sensitivity is awkward on the controller, I don't see why it would be any better on a wheel. Good luck on your journey to NY if you continue with the wheel.

For anyone who's playing this, there are calls you unlock by beating autolog recommendations.... Autolog recommendations are basically the game challenging you to beat someone else's time on your speedwall, which would imply that if you have times that are already better than others, you won't get recommendations... I've already set times on Autolog so I'm doing this to help you guys out...add me up and beat my times. It's ideal to set slower times and beat it by very little so the next person can beat that by a little so that you'd get more recommendations....

There's a car to unlock when you beat 40 recommendations... and if your friends already set the bar really high, you're really limited to getting in more recommendations.

I think I'll get this game eventually.

The graphics look really nice, and the environment and story mode looks pretty well thought ( according to me anyways).

I guess my biggest gripe with the NFS series is how little new cars are introduced; with the exception of Need for speed shift.

Aren't any of the old cars new to the series? A Datsun was in a previous NFS? El Camino? Mustang Boss?

Skip this NFS it's total tripe, wait for the next one, EA will probably release another one in January next year, and April, and August, and December...

I've played a little with DS controller. 👎 This is NFS is just not good enough. Not even close to Shift 2, and it should to be better cause it's NFS Shift 2 successor.

The Run is good for quick once time play, and throw away.

Actually there are 2cars that you get by beating 49/50 autolog recommendations, oh and btw AOS- accept me again please.
