I do notice that I see a lot of people aiming for me as I make my way past. Nor do they use the brakes much either, it would seem.

Pretty much the same. And you can't complain about the Megane RS no more, because it is in The Run

Indeed. :) Although the consequence is, there's too much missing after that  One Need for Speed game should have a Nissan Pulsar GTi-R one day. Would love to see what one could do with one of those... :)

if you crash at all you don't stand a remote chance of getting first.
Wrong!!!!!! Because people in general wreck in this game so much, I still make 1st or 2nd after some BS happens in the very beginning.

Basically it goes like this, to theoretically catch up to them, you have to be traveling faster than they are for the duration of time you're behind. Therefore, you need to keep on using nitrous wherever possible (preferably wherever you're running slow), and most definitely have a reverse for upcoming straightaways.

Note: This doesn't imply you'll win each time.

Is the Pulsar the hatchback version of the Primera 2.0Te that is in GT5?

Anyone wanna be Autolog buddies? Need some competition, most of my friends that play NFS The Run are COD addicts or are really off my pace. :)

Well obviously you can rely on waiting for everyone else to crash but that won't always work, if they don't.

No, it's just a separate hatchback model. But the Pulsar GTi-R is just awesome.

So what, you quit the race if you crash? Sounds like a dumber idea than trying to win.

I don't, obviously, just you can't always rely on opponents falling off to get you to the front.

I say that half of my wins I crashed on the start then went kamikaze dodging wrecks and then win the races. Even though most of the times I finished 2nd/3rd when I crash at the start. Or I finished last because then I keep on crashing.

It's not like I'm playing for my freedom... if it doesn't happen, then so be it. I was just knocking at your statement, because you can indeed make at least a podium finish if you keep on pushing yourself to catch up.

A friend showed me this:

I flipped out at the Delta, the MC12, and Diablo. I'm predicting the Alfa is going to be crap, like it was last game.
It's tempting to play this game again, maybe I will, maybe I won't, I'm just with school work and other things.

How is the community with this game? I just picked it up tonight because it was on sale. Or is it dead?

All the crappy drivers in HP3 defected to this because it's apparently "easier"... I don't know about its condition now as I haven't played in a while. However, I'm pretty certain you'll still find people.

And finally, think not of it as a story game, or a game with bad physics. Try adapting to it; you'll find it's one of the tougher arcade racers you've played (vs. other people via autolog)

Anybody know how to beat The Father of Wind in the challenge series with a Zonda that too hard to even get bronze and advice, tips or videos anything would be very greatly appreciated

I can platinum just about everything except the second last challenge Live Free or Die Hard.

I don't have a solid answer for you as I don't know how you play (hint hint get recording), but I can already tell you, you're either:
1)not taking required shortcuts
2)slow through corners
3)not making the best use of your nitrous..

but yeah if you can find a way to record yourself running through the event, I can give you tons of tips.

Wow I'm mostly a silver racer Yes I even got silver on the Live Free or Drive Hard also but I do think races over 5 minutes long or more I get slower or I make lot of crashes but I will try to put my performance on this site one day just for some tips and advice

I'm bad at cornering myself, because I only got a silver in that event.. I did try wallriding and managed to just barely get gold. I don't wallride for my records, but when I'm bothered enough, I'll have to try that event again to get the platinum..

I'm gonna be honest I actually have more Gold then anything but there like 3 hard one I only can get bronze and the Zonda Father of the wind is a DNF I'll post the video later but here my screenshot proof

I'm curious about this game... it comes in a value pack with Undercover and I'm having some trouble deciding if I take the shot.

-Is it worth it?
-Can you modify your cars? (body kits, performance, paint, vinyls and all that stuff)
-Game physics???
-Difficulty???

And... well, same feedback for Undercover would also be nice 👍

Thanks :)

-Yes.
-No, none whatsoever
-Pretty great depending on your taste, a balance between Prostreet and a very arcadey game. In certain places it shows it prowess, in others, its a bit iffy (Hairpin corners)
-Very tough on expert and even on hard

Undercover? I wiped that from my brain im afraid.

Didn't like Prostreet  but maybe it was just that I played the PS2 version ... hope THE RUN is better than that...

Well... yeah. I heard Undercover was bad... at least the ones who made the reviews said so... but... is it really that bad? :scared:

yes
pre made body kits on most cars.
i think its good more nfs like older nfs
you can choose easy med hard extreme

Short answer: No; don't buy it.

Explanation per question:

Physics? It has stuff most NFS games never even touched on, but overall, the "forced" physics is the major drawback to the gaming experience. If you're driving a car labeled with difficult handling, at low speed corners, regardless of how good your throttle control is, your car will always lose rear-end grip whenever you're on the gas for a period of time, even if you're barely pressing the accelerator.

The difficulty is BS. Because this game plays out like a movie, they will dramatically adjust AI performance of major characters to make sure they never fall behind. So if one of them smashed into a truck, 4 seconds later, you see them go hyperspeed on the map catching up to you. In the last race, there's a lot of cinematic cutscenes, so it doesn't matter if you're far up ahead or far behind, once you reach any of these checkpoints, the position behind you and the other racer is always fixed.

Other than that, the game has so many technical issues; the menu animation ROBS all the RAM on your console causing it to lag, the online is hella laggy, everyone wallrides and the netcoding is extremely awful.
