I'm going to go reserve my of NFS underground copy today. After playing the demo, I was sold. I just can't wait to play the whole game, and the intro is just sick.

If you wait until Nov. 4 the demo is supposed to be in the Dec 2003 Playstation Magazine.

Yeah, but doesn't the game come out few days after that?

True, it comes out shortly afterwards, but if you want to make the decision to buy, an $8.00 investment to evaluate a $40.00 game might be worth it. Besides they will also have a demo of the upcoming FFX-2 (an others too).

I would say just save your $8.00, and put it towards the purchase of the game, you will not regret it.

So the NFS Underground has been released? Cool~ Will be checking on the local store in the weekend.. :D

Yep, and I can't wait, I already reserved my copy, and I'm going to get it the day it comes out

Just got the new Playstation Magazine with the NFSU demo. Looks pretty nice although you just get the Eclipse (in various "skins"). The demo has circuit and drag racing only. I beat circuit my second try. I have yet to finish drag racing.

The demo is poorly implemented, though. If you finish the race, or total your car it dumps you out of the demo to the disk selection screen. You have to go back into the demo. Heck, at least let us play again.

The look and feel are very nice. The steering is a bit touchy but that will work itself out over time. Drag racing requires you to shift manually which I actually like. The circuit race asks you if you want auto or manual. Car graphics are nice if not too detailed, what does that mean? They stand out too much from the background, instead of blending in more. The backgrounds are very well done. When you use NOS everything blurs (ala Fast and the Furious, the movie).

Overall I will give it a good recommendation (for a demo). I am waiting for the PC version of the demo to come out and try it there. Besides the PC is $10 cheaper AND you still get to play online with the PS2 versions.

Well... this game is hot... there is alot of good and bad stuff about it, the game has drifting events and such... cant wait for the game, but the downfall is that there is only 20 cars.

Since NFSU will be on PC and other platforms (PS2, duh) I will probably get it on the PC and get TXR3 on the PS2. Might have to save up for both since FFX-2 will be out soon and then later on GT4. Who knows what else might be on the gaming horizon.

Screw that! Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 is gonna be all time.

Doesn't Matter to me, cuz I will own GT4, NFS Underground, TXR3, and probably even The Fast and Furious, so I won't care which one is the best, because I will have them all. :D

The NFS series are the only racing games for PS2 or most systems for that matter that even come in the same range as the Gran Turismo series. I played the demo at Gamestop today, I was really surprised at it, I thought it'd be just like midnight club but it wasnt! This game is put together very well, only thing I dont like about it is that the RPM is on the left side of the screen.. that really F'd me up when I was racing for the first time. Haha and another thing! NO AUTOMATICS when doing the drag races.. wooooooo this game is definately on the *To Buy List*. I suggest anyone who likes racing games and spent money on either Midnight Club or TXR0 to get this.. it's a million times better.. ooooh the graphics... oooooooooooh

Okay, so I stayed at gamestop for about 4hrs playing the demo today then on my way home stopped at walmart and bought the Winter 03 Jampack demo. jeez, by the time the game comes out Ima be the best driver!

here's a screen shot of me winning the drag race event in the demo!

[edit]woohoo faster time![/edit]

I had Street Racing Syndicate reserved, and then that all went to hell. 3DO or whatever went out of business, then whoever bought them went bankrupt, and now that Namco has it, it supposedly won't be released for another year or so (this is what the high-pitched annoyance at EBX told me). So I decided on reserving this.

I'll be greatly disappointed if you HAVE to rice out your car. I remember in a previous NFS, in order to get high performance, it would change the look of your car by adding a paint scheme of somesort. If it does, it'll definatly be less enjoyable.

However, if the arcade racing style affects my GT3 race style... It's gone. I'll get Tiger Woods.

I have the PC version of the demo and although it isn't superb it is adefinitely a damn fine game.

However, buy it for the consoles as the demo experienced problems with certain graphics card drivers, ATi especially.

Plus on the subject of modifications, I read that souping up your car cosmetically can improve your respect among street racers.

Now if THAT doesn't appeal to you, then your not a true gamer :D

It supposebly lets you pick the things you add on your car, not like High Stakes where it just adds shiney rims, a stripe, new exhaust, and lowers your car... but it's not really that arcadish (that even a word?), well not to me atleast. now if it had lil scrunched up cars like midnight club or something I might say it was arcadish, but this game r0x3rz j00!

Reading on Gamespot there are "requirements" for adding exterior things to your ride. They add "style points" which I guess makes some sense, kinda. I, personally, would forgo the style for power and performance. I think that making exterior changes will be a requirement for moving up, which would drop this down a notch or two on my Most Wanted list.
