Need For Speed Underground

Iwork at a game store and i played this the other day, and from what I saw it blows. They do nothing but make imports look like rice, although I didn't get to the customizing part, but what I played sucked as far as car representation, controls are not the best but not the worst either. I think Tokyo Extreme Racer 3 does a better job of what this game is trying to do. I would buy it, just not for 50 bucks

Well, as I completed this 2 hours ago, I thought I'd post my drift records. (rough guess, can't remember the exact figure)

RWD - 117000 (MX-5)
4WD - 101000 (Skyline)
FWD - 87000 (Focus)

Additional = It becomes an "Outrageous" drift as you pass 20k :D

did you mean that the rx7 and 240sx are equal drift cars? if so.. id have to dissagree.. i can bust drifts alot better in the rx7..

what track and how many laps? no offense but that sounds pretty weak..
 
I'm hooked on need for speed underground. i just got level 3 exhaust tips. I'm running a miata with stage 2 turbo and stage 2 nos. and i wanted to know is there any way to buy a 6 speed adjustable transmission in the game. i redline my 5th gear so badly my engine blows sometimes. i hit nos slightly on every gear to make the rpm's rev up faster to get better drag times.

nope.. not that i know of.. just use a better car.. like a rsx, rx7, skyline, supra ;)

The last transmission upgrade will give you a six speed transmission, but it is not adjustable,so if you are blowing your engine with your five speed you will still do the same with your six speed. The key to not blowing your engine is knowing exactly when to start using your Nitrous, and it is different in every car, but it is usually good to start using it in either third or fourth gear, and then do perfect shifts to have a better chance of not blowing your engine. Also when you see the engine heat rising, if you are in the lead, get off of the gas, and just try to block until it goes down a bit.

You should get off the cas like the others said, but try to keep it around your perfect shift point, so don't get all the way off the gas.

uh, still you should complete it your self. Cause half of the game you have to choose what you want and then you can't get it again unless you start a new file over.
 
I never thought about that, my next time through the game, I will decline the race against her, and see what happens
 
I finally got around to playing this game. I have to say I'm hooked on it. I beat it earlier on today and I'm going to go through it again tonight and tomorrow night. Hopefully this time I will have a run through with The Fairlady Z. I just love that car:D . By the way, does anyone know if you can just do quick races and unlock cars for Underground mode? Just curious, I'm going to try it today.
 
Hm, so I guess that rules out getting the 350 as my first car, eh? Guess I'm stuck with the damned Miata again..

Don't use the Miata for your first car. It has a tendency to blow the engine. I would suggest the Golf GTI, or the Civic. They both are very nimble, and easy to win with IMHO. ;)
 
I just like the Miata, since its one of (or the only) RWD car. It's been working for me thus far, I just restarted an hour ago. I'm on 16/111 Now..by the end of the night (5 am :D ) I'm hoping to be at 90+..

Nice mine is just over 28,000 i did it at my friends today, 1st time ive ever played, I also beat the game for him (last few people) cant wait to get this game.
