Need friends again (new PSN)

As titled. I have no access to my old account so would like some active friends for my Gran Turismo 7 escapades again, the leaderboards look lonely with only me up there…

Well unfortunately my PS4 has decided not to work anymore. I’ve only played it a handful of times since Christmas 🙄

Internet won’t connect, game won’t load, then the game does load but gets stuck in the transition between main menu and map screen.
Won’t open any settings on the console main menu (where you select notifications, settings, profile etc).
Then it gets stuck on the power off screen until I force shut down which results in the console moaning at me for not switching off properly. Rinse, repeat.
What a shambles.

@Famine - I’ve done that, reset to factory settings (keeping data), that didn’t work so I had to initialise the console. Now I have this weird graphical thing going on…



Weird diagonal lines of squares everywhere. I’m gonna have to buy a new console 🙄

EDIT - yeah I need a new console. Weird lines cleared up, and yet again after I sign in to PSN the console gets stuck on the "please wait" screen. The normally rotating X - O - square - triangle icons aren't even rotating when it says please wait, PS button does nothing, am forced again to pull the plug. Sigh...

Rebuild database would have been a better option, but yes that does look... non-ideal.

I'm looking at a new PS5 instead. Pre-owned PS4 will always carry the risk of failure, at least a new console will come with a warranty, and I'm well aware the PS5 version of GT7 will blow my socks off. Can't buy a new PS4.

Ironically, I still have my old trusty PS2 that is well over 2 decades old, still works perfectly whilst I noodle about on GT4. New consoles with their constant updates and key pass sign-ins and always online demands and on and on... no wonder they can't cope.

Sadly it doesn’t look like the ps5 is on sale for the “days of play” event but the controllers are and some games too…
If you had the physical copy of GT7 you can still play the ps4 version at no additional costs on the ps5. You can also upgrade your game to ps5 for ~10 usd which is still cheaper than buying a new copy…
Just a few tips I picked up when I did the change from ps4 to ps5…
