i'm trying to make a movie on movie maker 2, but the video and audio clips qon't cut to the length i want them to, they keep skipping from one length to the other and it is really frustrating me. can someone please help?

First, choose timeline view. On the right end of the audio or video strip position your cursor so it turns to a red arrow with two ends, pointing left and right. Then click and drag to cut audio or video out.

that's the thing, when i do it, it won't do it in single seconds, it does it like 12 or 2:00 at a time which is NOT what I want. so i can't work with that!

ok, i sortedit out and made the video. now when i play it, the video skips in some points and alost always freezes. why is it doing this?

oh, and another thing, I want to host it, but i think i need to put the video into .wmv format first. can you give me some help on changing the video format and hosting it.

When you choose to save to my computer, your computer actually, one of the file options is .wmv. You have to click on more options when you get to the save screen to choose it. Your video shouldn't flicker or freeze. If it flickers, you must have left space between video clips.

i tried saving to my computer, but i don't know where it says more options. could you talk me through it a little better, please. i'm sorry, i am a bit of a thicko, aren't i!!! :dunce: :dunce:

No, I did do a poor job explaning. I would need screenshots to tell what I am doing. I always get lost when reading the help files.

First, import your audio and video. Next, choose timeline view. Drag your audio or video to the right spots on the timeline. To change the lengh of a video clip, click on it in the timeline and move your cursor to the end of that video clip. It should turn into a red double ended arrow. Click and drag to lengthen or shorten the video clip. You can do the same with the audio clips.

I can go into detail about credit and transitions, as well as other features once you have the basics figured out.

Next click Save to My Computer on the left side of the screen.

A Window will show up. Type in a Name for the Movie and Choose a Location to save the clip. Choose Next

On that window, choose Show More Choices...

After you do that choose Other Settings. Go through the list and you can choose a movie type. To view info about that save setting look in the Setting Details box and Movie File Size box, about the next and back buttons. Remember to choose the correct bit rate and make sure the format is (WMV).

Choose Next when you find the correct settings.

Wait for your movie to save, and you should have your movie.

Go to yousendit. Click home, if you aren't already on the home page. On the home page type in the email address of the person you are sending the email to in the recipents email field. Next you attatch the file by clicking browser and navigating to the file on your hdd. Optionally, you can enter your email and a message. Hit send. It will take a little for it to send, quite a while if you have a 56K connection. A 1mb file can take anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes. The recipent will get a link to download the file.
