need help with 360 dashboard

ok I've seen people have ads on their dashboards, how do you do that? cause mine is just plain with the xbox live logo like this one.

and this is the one i want mine to be like:

What package do you use? The silver or the gold? I don't think silver has the ads on them and the gold does.

Wrong. I created a test XBL Silver account and it has the ads.

Long story short, you only see the ads if the age you enter when creating your account is over 18 (or is it 17?). Don't know why, but that's how it is, unfortunately.

Personally, I like the ads – you can easily see when the next tournament is coming up or that an add-on for a game has been released.

Yes. One of the required fields you have to enter is your birthday.

Well what Duck said must be true! I have a few mates on xbox live only one is under 18 - he is 17, and everytime he comes round to mine he keeps asking me how i get the ads on my dash! and i'm like - " eh.... i dunno! "

I never even thought of that!

EDIT: Having said that - Microsoft know your age through your email address specified when registering - we used another one of my mates email addy for him so it showed he was over 18 - so surely this cant be correct - as there is no where else we specified his age
