HAS NOBODY EVER SEEN ME DRIFT?! WTF IS THIS. Ask the guys on D-Max how good a FWD drifter I am. I'm also a skilled RWD drifter. So **** off mate. ;)

You have just received an infraction worth 10 points oh and by the way FF's cant and will never drift

That's funny , new member and already moderator ?

:@: Sean , I'm like you , I support all kinds of drivetrain.. since I have fun :dopey:

I'm sorry, I didn't realise you had Moderator written over your face in big black marker pen. FWD cars can drift just as much as AWD and RWD cars can, you just have to find out how. The more you continue to be a moron and argue with me on this the more likely this thread will get locked and we'll both get told off by an actual Moderator.

FWD can drift.

Have a nice day.

FF's are ass dragging... AWD's just powerslide... FR/MR/RR actually DRIFT.

It may look like drifting, but it's not.

If you put a FF drift video (Like that DC5), a 4WD drift video and a RWD drift video you will see that they do the same 🤬. Only difference will be the car :dunce:

I'm also a moderator :dopey:

I have done nothing wrong I didn't swear and if your a mod I would lock this thread because you obviously know FF''s don't drift it's common sense I have tried and yes you can make it look good but it's not drifting

They drift.

Ok? Just because they are all sideways doesn't mean they are all drifting.

The physics in each situation is very different.

Actually your wrong. I quote from the D1GP rule book any drivetrain below is allowed. Which means they do drift.

5. The only drive methods allowed shall be FR, MR, RR, and FF.

Wer talking about drift not D1GP cheap book

I can safely say iv never seen ff drift in d1
Why don't you prove your point and post a video of real d1 with an ff car competing :)

Oh yeah ? Example ?
What do you need to be told?

Do you not know about friction and resistance?

Obviously in an FF car only the front wheels are being sent power, carrying itself around the corner like an old dog dragging its ass on the kitchen floor.

Everything about the car is telling it to grip and understeer, as FF are designed to do just that, not "drift".

In AWD you have all the wheels doing the work, which makes spinning out almost physically impossible, and the extra help from the front wheels gives the slide more speed and a tendency to catch grip like FF.

In FR, only the rear wheels are being sent power, which is designed to make the car prone to oversteer, which means the loss of traction in the rear wheels causing your car to slide sideways, and you control this slide with countersteer and throttle. AWD nor FF require you to countersteer to perform what you call a "drift", nor do they need throttle control.

It is NOT the same.

Ok.

Sooo because of that post we all are forbiden of drift FFs ?

If FWD is LEGAL in the rules of a DRIFTING tournament, I'm pretty sure that means that FWD drifting is possible.

This thread is finished. I answered the original question and now it has just become a flame war.

To avoid anyone receiving infractions I would advise we stop here before mods decide to get themselves involved and things get serious.

I understand English is not your first language but come on... we said nothing about being forbidden to drift FF.

We are saying that drifting an FF is impossible, going by the origin of the word.

A Drift is caused by loss of REAR traction, so you might be making smoke in your FF but that doesn't mean you're drifting buddy! :)

Yeah it would be different to see some FF D1GP comps up... Be different but cool to do something different for a change...

Technically you are wrong not trying to contribute this nonsense but i think people should get their facts straight before they call something false... Drifting FF drive-train cars is not impossible... The only drive-train in professional competitions that's not allowed is AWD... If you don't believe me here take a look at where i am getting this information...

http://www.d1gp.com/latest/d1gp-rule-book

I am not saying one drive-train is more superior to the other... I personally love RWDs (FRs & MRs favorites) but i mean not directing this totally at you hks hope you don't think that... But lets not act like we are on bath salts about to eat each other which is pretty scary... Sorry i like to end with a joke hahaha

For me I don't care what I drift.. since it has Power , wheels and I have fun.

This should just be a guy asking for a settup and I said again, it became a drivetrain fight.

As for the FF regulation myth...

Wiki
Typical D1GP Vehicle Regulations

Considering the fact that the D1GP is a series geared towards production cars only, there are a number of different race regulations that the vehicle must undergo in order to be eligible to compete. They are:
Only Two wheel drive (FR/RR/MR). The vehicle has to be a production, road-going model by a major vehicle manufacturer and must be rear-wheel drive, front-wheel drive, or all wheel drive from the factory.
Vehicles constructed by a vehicle manufacturer solely for the purpose of racing are prohibited.

front wheel drive (FF) cars with an RWD platform conversion are allowed.

all wheel drive (4WD) cars without any RWD platform conversion, are prohibited.

Let me switch something... "A Drift is caused by loss of REAR traction, so you might be making smoke in your RWD but that doesn't mean you're drifting buddy!"

I think it could be said about any drive train. :)

I probably shouldn't be getting involved in this.
