Without money unfortunately that's not happening right now. Maybe after my insurance benefits kick in whenever that is. My brother's ex's dad just spent two days in the ER at a tune of $20k+. :ouch:

How much booze and junk food have you been eating lately? You're not taking over-the-counter pain medicine with booze, are you? It might be your liver.

No medicine except for those acid reducers. I don't drink very much, and when I do it's usually one beer a night, although not at the same time as the medicine.

Edit: Just to clarify, I haven't had any alcohol in about a week.

When you get these pains, have you tried laying down on your side? Maybe it's trapped gas? Could also be bad digestion as others have mentioned

Best case scenario it's only indigestion. Mate if I were you I would try to find a doctor anyway you can funds permitting.

Sorry to say this but I find it incredible that a country so technically advanced as the US can't provide free health care to it's citizens. I mean you have an amazing aircraft industry, the space program and lets be honest you guys make some incredible weapons of war just as a few examples. Maybe less spent on defence and more on health would help.

Anyway hope it works out ok mate.

Cheers Shaun.

I've tried laying in several positions, doesn't do much but make me sit back up because I can't breathe.

Gundalini for president! No seriously, I have no idea.

Bumpage.

So we're pretty sure it's my gallbladder. I'm in the middle of probably my worst attack ever right now. Started before I left work and here it is over 3 hours later and it still hasn't gone away. So I'm going to tough it out through silverstone and then probably get it taken out when I get back.

Yay. :(

When you start feeling like a stab victim, go immediately and find a surgeon who can perform a cholecystectomy. My dad's was ready to pop when they took his out. I have video of the procedure. Make sure you have one ready to go though because my mom's friend's son went septic and spent a few weeks in the ICU after a botched job.

Do you think you could get some help from Sony or whoever organizes GTA?
Lame idea, but I'm spitballing.

Oh yeah, try not to gain any weight, weighing only 130 pounds puts you at a huge advantage on track! lol

Your safety needs to come first.
What dud they check with you guys during the physical examination or whatever they called it?

It seems to me that there's a possibility that you have a mildish form of lactose intollerancy.

Just make sure you get it taken care of somehow.

I've never had issues with dairy products. I made the mistake of eating something greasy/fatty for lunch and it came back to haunt me. Nobody with GT Academy will be able to do anything, and if it puts me out so be it. Story of my life.

I have similiar feelings when I sleep on my side. I was told it could be the result of lying on my side for hours with muscle mass and fat resting along the rib cage.

It's being taken care of actually. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow morning. Best part is, I'm not paying for it. :D

You know I had a problem just like this a while ago.

I had over stretched while playing hockey, but later in the day I was bending down to pick up something from the floor and I can tell you now that I can count the number of times on one hand that I actually thought I was going to die more than what happened after. I dont drink or smoke or that but I was pretty sure i was having a heart attack. I was nearly bent over in two on the floor.

After a while the pain eased, but it came back unexpectantly, once being in school which I was lucky was during the lunch hour. But hand on my heart they have not happened again for a few years now. I didnt go to a doctor (Or rather, my mum didn't want to "waste her time" taking me to the clinic) but they passed normally.

Hope you get sorted dude!

Looks like I came to this too late - from everything you described I immediately thought "gall bladder".

Anyway, you're getting it sorted now but you need to be changing your diet permanently to cut out all fatty foods else you're going to keep getting pain. Unfortunately fatty foods and alcohol are your nemesis and will carry on... learn to love muesli, lettuce and low fat sandwiches ;)

This was not the case with my wife. Really spicy foods bother her on occasion, but not much else. She gave it about six weeks and has been able to down fried and fatty foods with the best of them. Her doctor told her that after she fully recovered she would need to ease into a normal diet to see what did and didn't bother her, and now she is fairly confident on what she can eat. Occasionally she eats a seemingly harmless food that leaves her hurting, but we just add it to our massive list of things not to eat.

On the other hand, I know people that practically had to cut out red meat completely and others that had zero change in diet. It's all a bit of an individual basis from what I can tell.

This is the first time I have had an attack during the day. All my previous attacks would wake me up in the middle of the night and were not as severe. This one was triggered by something in my Taco Bell nachos. The meat? Sour cream? Not sure.

All I know is whether or not this thing comes out, I'm done with fast food. (subway should be ok?)

I've done some Google searching and don't really know what I should be looking for, so maybe you guys can help. First things first, I have no insurance and cannot afford to see a doctor at this time, so I'm hoping it's maybe an issue with my diet that I can change relatively easy.

Lately (or rather for a while) I have been getting sharp pains right below my right rib cage. These never occur during the day, rather they usually wake me up in the middle of the night. Usually when this happens I have to get out of bed and walk around, or just sit up and wait patiently for it to subside. If I try to lay back down, it hurts so much that I can't breathe.

That area is usually sensitive to touch, as it hurts if I push on it a little. Now, as I said if I get out of bed and do something for a bit, or sit up and read a book for an hour or two, it goes away enough that I can lay down and go back to sleep. Not really an issue on the weekends, but a major pain in the rear during the week when I have to get up and go to work.

I think I've linked this issue to eating greasy foods, as it will usually happens when I eat Pizza or something similarly greasy late at night. I've watched myself lately about eating those kinds of foods any later than about 8:00, but it sucks as I'm scared to even touch them anymore.

My last occurrence with this issue was last night. Had a turkey burger with cheese and tomato around 6:30, then had a few cookies with a glass of milk about an hour later. Then about 10:00 I had a glass of Sunny-D and went to bed around 1am. I woke up at 4:30am and was not able to get back to sleep until around 6am.

Sorry about the long post but...any ideas?

Seriously, you eat to much and the place around your stomach hurts, what would it be? Not really rocket science dude

You should be a doctor. Be sure to get really, really good malpractice insurance first.

Hardly anything about internal medicine is ever easy, especially for unqualified keyboard warriors.

Yeah, no kidding.

Thanks. 👍

Well, I meant all these instances were post-surgery. Pre-surgery my wife would be in pain at random intervals. The food related pain now is because part of the digestive process is missing.

What? There is only about 25 feet worth of intestines. How many different things can go wrong in that process? Its not like gastrointestinal issues need their own specialty...oh wait.

Bad news. :(

Gallbladder is FULL of stones, according to the Doc. He wants to get me in within the next month and have it taken out. My Silverstone trip is also in lingo right now, and I'm about 90% sure they're going to tell me no.

That absolutely sucks!
FYL.
Really wish there was something I/we could do to help you. :(

I've been given the OK to go on the trip, but I still have to get it taken out when I get back. Hopefully it doesn't bother me while I'm there. I usually only get attacks every few months, so we should OK as long as I stay away from greasy/fatty foods.

We all know how bad British food is, so you should be good. :)
lol No offense guys. :dopey:

And alcohol. Avoid alcohol.

Going to England but can't eat fish and chips. How sad this is.

Maybe you can eat fish, I don't know.

Did you ask the doctor if you should go to silverstone?
Or someone else?
If so, may I ask what he said when you said you won a competition in a video game and won a trip to England to drive race cars? lol

^^^ Sorry about the late response. The only thing he said is he would have felt bad telling me no since it was a huge deal. So he said as long as I could take care of it by eating right, etc that I would be fine.

Just got home from seeing the same doctor, then seeing a surgeon immediately afterwords. I'm scheduled to have my gallbladder taken out next Thursday (7th) at 9am. :nervous:
