Not meaning to take the job away from GC, but i thought i'd try anyhow. Maybe if a couple of people do it, you can chose which one you like the best?

Thats a really lame banner, so I did something nice for a change. I made you an avatar. Its matches the background on this forum and is transparent, so it will blend in on both colors in the post bit. I was going to add one of my cars, but then it would be an ad for myself, and thats not fair to you, so I left it out

Enjoy.:D

See people? Im not always a ********.

It's called Price Down. You can get it at www.dafont.com

Nice static avatar, it's too big though. 100x100 is the max size, and sizing it down with out the program re-rendering the fonts will introduce distortion into the image.

:)

you see, that would help, but my user status on the machine with Photoshop on it (my parents' machine) doesn't let me install fonts, and I don't think they'd be thrilled by me installing a GTA Font on their machine...

Ahhh...

You could do it in paint though. :)

Uh, how is that a burn? He laughed that I said "Im not always a dick head" and then statted that he liked the simplistic av I made for acid man.

Havent used a professional art program before have we? Download PSP or PSD when you have the time.

I see you fail to see my point, but that's cool. Let me try again. The avatar you uploaded is too big according to the avatar specs on this site. It has to be sized down. Now let me ask you what would produce the best results in your professional opinion.

1.) Edit the original image in PSP/PSD that is using vectored graphics for the fonts and lines to size down the image to meet the 100x100 size limit.

or

2.) Import the rastersized image into your favorite graphic editing program like PSP or PSD and size down the rastersized image to meet the 100x100 size limit.

So what will produce the better resized avatar, option #1 or option #2, or will they be exactly the same?

Im aware that its too big, but it wont lose any composure because I resized it like you suggested.
And they will both look the same since its already a smooth anti aliased image, but I cant resize the transparent gif because it with get jaggies.

Why are we argueing about this? Who cares?

The point of this little exercise, is if your going to make people avatars that are of your quality, I would think that you would want it to look as good as it can. Since the user would only have the gif image to work with, sizing it down himself would introduce, as you put it, jaggies on the avatar, whereas if you sized it for them using the source file and then exported it to meet the specifications of this site, if that is what your making the avatar for, then everyone's much better off. The member has a better looking avatar, and your work that's on display will look that much better. Guess it comes down to quality control which is to be expected from your prior posts of graphic excellence.

So really there is no argument, we both agree that when the rastersized image is sized down to meet the forums specs, jaggies will be introduced into the image.

Sorry I couldn't find the "Vice City" script font or even a find that looked like it. I'm sure that something like a neon effect font could have done, but the ones I tried just didn't look right.

Sorry I took the liberty to add that background image. I was just messin' around, waiting for some stuff to download and figured I'd spice one up for yeah with elements from the other peoples.... :)
