^i just found some Hans someone or another one in the GTR race car. jesus he was incredible. think it was the same as amp88's link

its the wrong video. theyre on the crappy F1 course.....

My bad :dunce: , thats what happens when you try and link by memory alone (btw AMP88's link is the right one).

To make up for it here proof that Top Gear were not the first to get silly on the 'ring with a van

Right click on me and save

The full vid is on the 8200rpm.com site.

This is also well worth the time it takes, 911 at the 'ring in the snow!!!

Nurburgring in the snow Vs. 911 Carerra

thats the guy 👍 very talented indeed

He is a very nice person , too on top of that. I saw him several times interviewed on German TV, and he is a funny and interesting personality. 👍

He is 54 years old now, but still young and a pure racer at heart!! :)

(IMHO also he was/is underrated by many...funny enough though not by the GTP community..!) 👍

Well, whilst we're sort of on the subject of fun vehicles round the 'Ring...

Well, Nurburgring is a public highway thing, so everyone drives on it.
by that you mean "a closed racetrack that the public can pay to drive on"
its not a public road if thats what you meant

It's not a closed racetrack, it has tolls and stuff. Dont you see in almost every video all the mini-vans and stuff?I garentee that they didnt pay to go race their 80 hp minivans.

It's a one way toll road with no speed limit. Everyone who drives on it (who's not associated with the circuit) has to pay, including people in minivans.

The Nurburgring is a public toll road that is subject to normal German traffic laws, it is not a closed racetrack. It is a one way road that is classed as de-restricted, i.e. it has no set speed limit.

It is however limited as to the times it can be used by the public, mainly to allow manufacturers and race teams to test. It is also normally closed over the winter period for safety reasons, the video above was taken with specific access to the road.

Actually they would have, the 'ring does not go anywere specific, its a big 13 mile ring! To drive on it you have to pay, no choice, despite being a public toll road its not part of the main road network of Germany. It is included on your sat-nav however, which is very cool.

thats kind of silly... what is it closed on weekends for track days or something?
