I read in Car and Driver that it will cost around a quarter million USD.
If it goes into production, I doubt it will cost that much.

I was kinda hoping they would build a AWD version of the Scirocco.........
HPA in Canada have built an AWD 3.6 V6 twin turbo version. The Scirocco isn't even available to North America either.
They make them to order too.............at around US $160,000.
Its good for 190mph though.

Audi Sport Quattro concept will debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show

The reveal of a new Quattro concept this year shows that Audi is still interested in launching a high-performance sports car honoring the original Quattro..............

.... but it looks like influences from its successful R18 e-tron quattro Le Mans prototype may feature in the new Quattro concept. Running down the center will be a tunnel flanked by a carbon fiber frame, perhaps mimicking the carbon fiber monocoque of the R18. The new Quattro concept will be based on the chassis of the A5 so there won’t be a complete carbon fiber monocoque structure, but we could see some of the lightweight stuff used in the construction to help shed the pounds while also improving stiffness.

The sketches above also reveal an aggressive exterior inspired by the original Quattro line of cars while the interior features a 2+2 seating arrangement and high-tech controls. Unlike the 2010 Quattro concept, which was based on a shortened version of the A5 chassis, the new concept is likely to keep the full length in order to maximize space for the four occupants.

As previously reported, the new Quattro concept is expected to benefit from a 600-horsepower version of Audi’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine. Though it’s possible Audi might use its e-tron quattro all-wheel-drive system as featured in the R18 race car, which uses electric motors in addition to an internal combustion engine in a through-the-road hybrid setup, we’re more likely to see the engine paired with a conventional mechanical all-wheel-drive system.

Such a car would be matched in performance by only the range-topping R8 V10 Plus in Audi’s lineup. Initial performance estimates are a 0-60 mph time in less than 4.0 seconds and a top speed of close to 186 mph

I like the looks, the shape.. It echoes the S2 Quattro Coupe. But it's nearly 1800kg and a hybrid on top of that.. If thye make a gasoline only version that is lighter by, say, 400kg.. Then I would be more positive. As it is, I'll take the old S2 over that.

Damn... I'm disappointed in seeing the actual car after seeing the rendering....

I got all excited over the drawing for nothing. What a let down.

I don't get it, the car looks exactly like the concept drawing, except for its a bit taller. People have to sit in there after all...

I think the black area between the tail lights should be body color, otherwise I think it looks great. Then again I kind of like huge front air inlets.

The rendering looks like a wide body version of what was given with larger aero parts.

I wish the tail lights would be smaller and placed vertically.
I also think that the huge grill doesn't really fit to the overall lines.

A lot of people don't like retro designs, but some more details copied from the original quattro would be nice.

Yup, still looks like a Corrado.

Not a fan overall. I like that Audi is deviating from their existing model lines a little, and I'd much rather this than an R8 on looks alone... however, the deeper grille looks even worse than before/the existing Audi griller, and the haunches at the back don't seem to belong on the car.

Overall... Token big power overly expensive hybrid concept car option.

Really, really quick, rushed 'shop.
But yeah, it does look better with a smaller grille.
Unfortunately I kinda messed up what I wanted to do with the rear wheelarches, but whatever.

EDIT: On the other hand, it looks now even more like a VW...

Don't think the grill looks bigger than any other current Audi front end. By the time you slap a front registration plate on it, you'd hardly notice it's size.

I like it overall. Quite understated, a bit like a butch 3-door A3. It's more in keeping with the spirit of the original Quattro than the OTT artists renders over the page.

The front is OK but the rear of the older concept in the OP is miles better. Overall none of them really look like the Quattro at all which is a bummer. Would rather have the original concept, and if possible in its Group B getup

Probably the only car that I want as a convertible.

Looks good right now but the roofline is a little strange. Rear bumper needs to stick out more (bumpers... remember those things?) and it needs some freakishly huge 90 IMSA GTO wheels. Don't call it the sport quattro unless it's insane.

An interesting car, like many Audis today. The looks are more than fine with me, suitably matched to it's predecessor, but not so overdone that it couldn't be production ready.

The most interesting thing to me, however, is the choice of the ZF 8-speed automatic over some kind of adaptation of the 7-speed DCT that they've put in the R8 (and others).

The drawings have a really aggressive and mean look to it, it has that awesome concept look. That yellow one looks like the boring production version, looks like they removes the the coolness from it.

Something doesn't feel right. I'm as much a fan of aggressive designs as the next person, but it isn't what the Quattro needs. Basic headlights for one, second that grille needs some separation, and the whole thing just feels like a tease.

The headlamps on this car don't work. They're too tame compared to the rest of the car. It needs something like this:

Or this:

Also, it needs a sleeker, more horizontal rear roofline. Sure, it's not practical, but it's a concept. it would, along with the headlamps, totally complete the look.

I like the race version Robin posted up. It reminds me more of the concept and less of the now decided production car. At least the concept in the OP hinted at the 80s version but had great lines and somewhat futuristic vents you'd see on a new age super car, not sure why audi went for a design we all seem to expect from any A/S/or RS version.

I think it is obvious what they used as inspiration. Not the original UR Quattro, but this:
