Finally won it without aids, skid recovery off, gained much time straight-lining the braking zone and used one car to help turn in....

I won by 5 seconds easily using DS3 after watching this video. Straight-lining the braking zone is very critical.

That's a rather creative setup and I can't really see the reason behind it. You stick the back of the car high up in the air and then add camber to the rear? Also the LSD settings, for deceleration, are far too high. You get massive oversteer from the back of the car being so high, understeer from the camber settings of the rear axle and lift off understeer from the LSD settings.

I guess it's the SRF doing all the work here

That's because with Skid Recovery on, you can win with ANY SETUP. The aid is compensating, providing bonus traction out of nothing for the wheels that start to skid/spin. We just discussed this here:
