Right driving is left steering.
 
What's the difference anyway? You don't have to shift with your left hand (unless you're going for hyper realism and put the shifter on the other side) and it makes going round the last corner of nordschleife easier :lol:

Because pit at Le Mans is on the right handside, the driver exits traditionally on the right hand side....

Audi LMP cars have typically been an exception, but Audi choreograph their pitstop having the exiting driver standing on the right hand side "passenger" space to belt in the incoming driver. But they switched to RHD when they brought in the Coupe R18 as they can't do the same kind of pitstop anymore.

Not really that bothered by it the RHD VWs, I have a new MK6 also and I am just happy that we finally got a MK6 in the game, just bad that its not a GTI.

Right hand side ballast is better for clockwise tracks.
 
I think that would possibly class as a ten foot pole.

Even more oddly, we all use the terms wrong. Left-hand drive doesn't mean a car where the steering wheel is on the left, but a country which drives on the left side of the road - it's just mutated over the years. Odder still, the terms "nearside" (left) and "offside" (right) are utterly universal. So really the McLaren F1 is a centre-driven vehicle from a RHT country with an offside gear lever, and your RHD GT40 is an offside driven vehicle from a RHT country with an offside gear lever.


Nothing's ever simple, is it?
 
As TheCracker points out (and I elaborate on above), the gearstick is to your right in the McLaren F1, so you shift with your right hand, like in a LHD car.

If you hop into the F1 having driven RHD cars all your life, you'll keep trying to change gear with your handbrake. If you hop into the F1 having driven LHD cars all your life, you'll not notice any difference.

No. It all depends on what they have access to. If, let's say Ford, agrees to ship a certain car in that's LHD, then they'll model it as a LHD. And PD probably doesn't have access to all the premium cars in the game, so some or most of them may be based solely off of pictures. Or, if they had access to a certain RHD car, but they wanted to make it LHD for whatever reason, they could just mirror the interior model.

What? there are people who drive RHD cars with the shifter at the right? that's just wrong... That's why I want a wheel with a separate shifter holder. It wouldn't make sense to be driving a Honda NSX with the shifter at the right...
 
Well does the Golf R have the padlles or manual? If it has the paddles, then it's the Euro spec car so it's rhd. If it's the manual, then it should be the US lhd version.

If that's the case, then all cars in GT5 would be RHD, correct?

To OP: I remember somebody mentioning that the Golf R has a detuned variant (which is what we have in GT5) in Australia, Japan, and South Africa, so that could be your answer.

I can say what I like! Like I just did, the steering is on the right, so its on the right side. If it was on the left, it would be on the left side.

Two meanings to the word right, you just got it wrong.
 
Hmm i think in therms of racing it depend on how track goes... right turn type or left. So LHD for left turn types RHD for right turn types.

My favorite is center position though. Better view.

Most tracks run in a clockwise direction (more right turns than left), have we just proven that RHD is the best? 👍
