New DLC's every two Months, Says Kazunori Yamauchi

I am not sure making DLC is good idea. Lot of games use this cheap trick to add content later for more $. Although as far as GT5 is concerned DLC was probably after thought and they are doing it based on demand and longevity of game.

DLC tracks are awesome and cars are ok but they should not release some 4-5 more DLC packs like Forza4 for 30-40$. :nervous:

I really wouldn't call it a cheap trick for the DLC like GT5 has released. Gt5 almost is or is a year old and DLC started for it almost a year after it's release and after a pile of other updates that made it better over 3/4 of a year. It's not like releases of some other games where there is DLC on the release day. I would call that a cheap trick.

The more I've thought about this I think it would be best if PD could give us some races using these cars and tracks in either seasonal events which I think would be easily possible or in another spec or added to a-spec.

Another thing I've been thinking about because of playing black ops and mw3 is it would be cool to have some sort of classing or "prestige" system in GT5

Like a way of keeping your garage but restarting A-Spec. A symbol showing you have classed up or prestiged would be needed for online racing as some people have prejudice of players under certain A-spec levels because of expected race skill. And this would keep A-spec alive and encourage others to finish the endurance races to be able to class up and restart A-spec.

Any thoughts on that idea?

Yes. And it is optional. No one forces you to buy any of it. Heck, you don't even need Spa to race on it online.

I sincerely doubt that DLC is going to hurt GT6 one bit. Has anyone thought of not getting GT5 because so much of it comes from GT4? I bet that the small handful who buy it all and think they won't even need to look at GT6 will still be all over the teasers PD makes, all the videos from the game journalists, all the YouTube vids, and pre-order it when it becomes available.

As for Prestige Level... maybe, but I'd have to know it wouldn't bite me somehow, like having to regain all that XP? No thanks. :p

In My opinion, I bet we will have GT6 in half the time we had GT5, solely because the way he "recycled" GT4 cars onto GT5.. He could honestly get away with doing that for GT6 based on the fact that GT5 cars are VERY GOOD, a sound and possibly Shadow Update will be MANDITORY, but either then that, any DLC's we get now, will probably relate a fair amount to what we see in GT6.. i hope PD can get the next game done just in perfect timing with the next gen Play Station perhaps ;) ?

I am definitely supportive of a "new game plus", prestige, or whatever it's named.

But PD have no hint of doing something like that, their price point for Spec II's DLC was spot on, even though there were whine... it was a reasonable price for a decent chunk of contents. PD isn't T10 who have twice the amount of manpower plus outsourced workers to churn out new contents.

I'm all for the current DLC model implemented, DLC = Tracks + Cars + stuff, will gladly pay for new cars and new tracks in Packs, not separate car models and separate tracks, although tracks are inevitable to be offered alone

While I see a lot of interesting thoughts floating around here, a combination of a few these may be a little more realistic:
1. Test Coursre and El Capitan
2. Roughly 5-10 exisiting cars re-done as TC's
3. Maybe 1 or 2 new cars, which will most likely be newer versions of cars that are already in the game, such as the new M5
4. Updated Super GT cars from the 2010 or 2011 season, which may or may not include the HVS010 GT.

That would be beyond disappointing. GT5 released nearly 1 year ago. 1 or 2 cars should not be appetizing to any gamer. I'd imagine 10-20 new cars.

While we may see 10 or more cars in the new DLC, I highly doubt they would all be brand new cars. More than likely we are going to get TC versions of exisiting premiums or standards updated to premiums.

Thank God we're speculating! :)

I, personally, would rather see new cars, than race mods of already existing cars. I think many others would agree. Let's see how PD reacted to how WE reacted to the first DLC.

how about adding more events. The GT4 tracks that got missed, and more races at the daytona road course. Weather and time change on daytona also. Winds can get really fierce on the beach. I know its not the ring, but the 50th rolex 24 is coming up in january. huge race

I dont often post in these threads but i would like to see.
Silverstone.
Brandshatch.
Road America.
And maybe a few more F1 curcuits.
Cars I would like to see are,
Audi R15 or R18.
The 2011 908.
RM'd 458 Italia.
RM'd ZZII.

DLC is tied to particular region/monetary-union because of the reasons of actual cost-to-customer.

If they would make DLC region-free - which they will never, nor will any other publisher to be honest - everybody from around the would would just shop from the US store because of the current price of the US dollar.
Most DLC on Xbox360 is region free. On PS3 it's rare.

Most sensible speculation ever.

Not really DLC but I wouldn't mind seeing special paint schemes of cars in the OCD once in a while. Whether it be standard or premium cars. Updated DTM, FGT, Vintage Trans-Am schemes, and things of the such.
